  • S40 2.0D – too small tank capacity? Where did the 10 liters go?

    Servus, probably a thread title that you don’t read every day… I’ve had my moose for about 6-7 weeks now – except for a defective generator everything was fine. A few relevant informations about the vehicle: A 2005 S40 2.0D summum, apparently with DPF, 240.000km and auxiliary heating. The problem now is this: I always fill up my car in general. If the tank needle bends slowly towards empty, I see that when the yellow tank lamp lights up I steer towards the petrol station. From the appearance of the yellow lamp I don’t really dare to drive much further (although often still 100km “stretch distance” on the BC stand), because the car starts to jerk and brings less power. (Why always). I associate a jerking with empty tank with too little fuel -> so quickly to the tank. Now when the full tank is then filled up hardly more than 40 liters into the tank – you really fill up at the beginning of the “reserve”, come even 38 liters. At first I thought that the Volvo really only had a 45L tank, which then seemed strange to me. So I looked into the boardbook: “Tank content 2.0D: 53L” Suppose there are still 3-4L reserve in the tank inside – where are the remaining 8 liters of fuel? Do I just not drive out the full reserve? –> Why is the car then jerking (from about the middle red line of the tank indicator?) noticeable? (Only from the specific tank filling level, otherwise the jerking does not occur) I we ate’, you don’t have a magic glass ball – but I would be interested in your ideas and experiences! Small information on the edge: With me it’s called full tanking: the automatic end of the pump + about 0.5 liters.

  • Volvo C30 1.6D as first car (meaningful)?

    Hello! I’m new here and actually an absolute car beginner, I say I have no idea. But I fell in love with the C30 some time ago and wish it to be my first car since then. But since I just have a bad overview of all the technical data etc. and have no experience of which model in which year of construction which damage has shown especially often or similar, I would like to turn to you now I am now 19 and my small budget is at a maximum of 4000 Euro. My mother would hate to see me in a car with an extremely much more horsepower than 100 and it should be a diesel. So far I have driven with her Skoda Roomster and would already call me quite experienced. I have now found a used C30 in our vicinity with 160,000km, built in 2007, price 3600. Now I just ask myself whether it would be unreasonable to fetch him, since it is already a few kilometers. Hold the C30 long or are they dan n quite vulnerable? I just don’t want to make the mistake of getting this “exote” because I like it and somehow suits me, if a Corsa would be just more reliable or reasonable. I look forward to your answers! Lisa

  • V70 D5 – 1001 noises

    Hello together, for about half a year now I drive my V70 D5, since the about 20,000 km. I am also very satisfied with a few small things like the 1001 noises that occur again and again: 1) as already discussed several times here, the “snapping” of the LS at the back right. Here it seems to be discussed about … 2) What is even worse, at the front left of the A-pillar starts the moose at irregular intervals, regardless of the speed and D The sound is hard to describe, asl when plastic rubs on glass. The parking ticket clip is definitely NOT , I have already taped it off! The noise suddenly appears and silently reappears just as suddenly, but annoyed immensely. You can’t find it acuh where you start knocking, shaking or holding parts. Who knows this noise and where it comes from? 3) A metallic “rattle” “snapping” under the moose, at the beh to be heard at 1800 – 2000 rpm in 3rd gear with open windows. Does it sound like looping a chain or something on the floor or even like the sound as if something is getting in bicycle spokes during the ride. The noise only occurs when accelerating at certain speeds, when taking the foot off the gas it is again away. Who knows this noise and where it comes from?   • additional 12 V connection in the combo for the cooler

    Hello Elchgemeinde! I intend to buy me a car.- cooler for our 3 weeks Sweden vacation. Of course this 220V~/12V duo connection should have around 35 liters of capacity. Have your suggestions/experiences for a good cooler in the segment up to approx. 100 Euro? Furthermore, I would like to install an additional “12 V socket” (cigarette lighter) for this cooler in the trunk area (V70 I T5). Is there a cheap installation place back there, where appropriate cab can be tapped? I would be grateful for suggestions, installation instructions and part numbers (passing cigarette lighter).

  • Mirrors in the windscreen

    Now the summer starts again – juhu. Unfortunately, even in clear weather and a lot of sun, I have to do with the seals in the windshield again. I see my dashboard in writing more clearly than the traffic. This sucks totally. (see pictures) I cleaned the fittings extra only with a damp cloth so that it doesn’t shine, but it does nevertheless My idea would be to stick on it. Does anyone have an idea?

  • Odd-helicopter-like noises with open window

    Basically, the headline is already the whole question: Yesterday I came because the windows, especially the windows were quite fogged on the idea to open the windows. And when the windows at the back were opened c.a. 1/4 to 1/2 [they are not going up] [and I drive more than 60 km/h, nothing is before] this strange, incredibly loud and dull noise came. But if the windows are at the top you can’t notice absolutely anything, and the car drives softly 200. The matures can’t be either, today is still there. hen, the mature ones aren’t kind of loose-I can hit it with the foot and it doesn’t move a mm-even if it’s lifted I guess that the wind is making the noise, but I’m a bit worried. Has someone ever had something like this, someone knows what it might be? Ahja-hab is trying to record the noise, but you can imagine how great the recording sounds in advance of THX. ever since
