  • Stand heating does not heat the interior

    Hello, I have a question here. Some things have already been reported about the topic, but I did not find a suitable answer to my request. So here’s my problem: the heater with timer is placed – this jumps punctually and also heats the engine as it should be – but now it would have to switch to the interior, but then it shuts down. I still get crazy with the part. With my friend I was scho. He doctored the software, but without any result. I’m supposed to test it at home – result – as described above. The friendly one means if it’s not possible, then I have to reckon with about 500 EUR for the rep. I would be happy if someone could explain how this behaves. Oh so: I have an XC70 , Mod. 2005

  • Handbrake problem again.

    Hello Volvo Community, this thread has probably been performed several times, but I wanted an update of the whole. My Volvo s 60, like the Mesiten, has been regularly maintained at Volvo. After months of strange thought that while pulling the handbrake, the car first rolls back by 10 cm, until the braking effect starts, looked around me here in the forum. After the terrifying reports about blocked hind wheels opening, I wanted there After all, drive regularly over 200 on the AB and if a wheel would block, ……… there is cold sweat running on my mind alone. So, just get feedback from the friendly: All documents loose, disks rolled in from the inside, mechanics also have to be replaced! Cost point about 700!!! So slowly I don’t think it’s funny. I’m glad that I reacted “in time”, but the check of the hand brake is not in any maintenance place. And that I now have to pay all the secbers I find impudence! So my question to the community: Has someone complained about this with Volvo. Answer received? Why does Volvo not foresee the check of the handbrake? Only the replacement of the documents does not cost more than 100-150 euros. Much less than I have to pay now, which is also vieeeeeeel less in comparison to what could happen. In this sense I can only recommend to everyone quick to check in the workshop. I’d be happy to have any support.

  • Does anyone have experience with diesel on short distances?

    Hello all, I am currently a driver of a 97 ́V40 T4 and super satisfied.I wanted to treat myself to something bigger (V70 ca Bj 2006).In the long run it becomes small after all.Since I drive only about 8000 km and a lot of short distance in the year, is now the following problem or rather the consideration gasoline or diesel? It should be either a 2.4l gasoline ,170hp with automatic,but is relatively rare and probably only the minimum of performance for this car.O the thought of a 2.5l diesel (D5,I think 179 hp) which of course also has more torque-would be the better choice from the driving pass??? But what does it look like with the diesel with short distances ?Do you get problems with the soot particle filter,turbo or,or….Not that I have a top engine then and the box is broken in 2 years. Apart from the short distance is generally not great – already clear. Next question.If I register today a used one from 2006 how we are the taxes then calculated, according to Kubik or after Co2 emissions?And how high are the taxes for both engine variants?   • Performance problems V50 2.0d

    Hello dear community, there is really a lot to read because of the V50 2.0d regarding the power loss. Since I still have no solution for my problem, maybe one of you has a tip for me. The following problem: My V50 had less power than normal already when I bought it. This was pushed on one of the two brown turbocharge control valves. As it was obvious, this had several small cracks as if it had bursted. This ha of course I changed, which resulted in a “improvement”. Nevertheless, the car has no full power. It is impossible to overtake in 4 or 5. Even my 1.4 TDI is far faster. I was already at 2 Volvo workshops, both of which have confirmed that the performance is too little. Both have checked the hoses, all of which are firmly on it. I have not changed the other valve at the moment, since it still looks “good” without cracking or similar. If the turbocharger was defective, would there be an error message? And even more, would an improvement be possible with a defective turbocharger by changing the valve at all? What else I forgot: There is no error message in the display or anything else.

  • “Key Error…try again”

    Hello, this morning I wanted to go to work, put the key in the ignition hole, turn the key around – but nothing happens and in the onboard computer the error message “key error-try again” appeared then about 5 times tried, but nothing happened and then drove with my second car into the company … When I just came home I tried again felt 500 times – and at once went again! The car ran… then the key again a bzug, it tried again…and all the crap started over…So if you try it a lot of times…but it’s not normal, does anyone know what that could be???

  • Which V50 to use?

    Moin Moin, after a long time which car now comes into the house my wife has got into a V50. It will be one from about 04-06 with the 100-120 tkm. The question would be just which maschine? So at least 140 pesas should it be i.e. 2.4 or yet 2.4i or even T5? The consumption is rather subdued whereby my wife drives a lot of short distance..there makes hardly any sense a turbo (warm cold driving). I have read a few purchase advices, in it is from haufi A colleague once wrote that the first or fourth cylinder has no compression at any time with the 5 cylinders? What about it? How reliable is the automatic? Would be nice if the one or other V50 driver could give me a few tips Thanks

  • Trouble with alternator

    Hello, maybe you know further, so I drive a V50, 2.0 Diesel Momentum built in 2008 with 53000 km. The original alternator broke about 4 weeks ago, there was a ringing and a buzzing and the light flickered and the Lima and became very hot.I drove into the free workshop, there they told me that they no longer regulated and without consumer supplies 70 Ah and about 14.5 volts. It came a new pure out of the accessories, this kept it very hot for 10 days and there were wi the same symtom. Then I gave the old Lima for repair it was overhauled for 150 €, because at Volvo they told me it had to bring in an original Lima again. So I had the repaired Lima reinstalled, to Volvo to measure, there the Lima now delivers up to about 15 volts, but also this ringing and gets very hot. The Volvo man said it had to get a new one from VOLVO, then everything would be ok, but guarantee could not give me. I buy a new Lima from Volvo. All measurement cables are fixed.

The boot cover (rollo) only rolls up about half, what do you do? The radio only works with ignition, what to do if you want to hear “in the state” what?   • Costs of marten damage

    Dear Motor-TalkHe, in this thread I had asked for opinions on the “age state” of a V70. Now it becomes a bit more concrete after I had my brother-in-law have the car looked at (he lives in the corresponding city). A point that is still open is an unrepaired marten damage: the MArder has apparently caused a proper chaos in the insulation layer between the engine and passenger compartment (see picture). My question would now be with which costs to calculate for the repair I can’t figure out if it’s a few euros for the insulation material and a working hour, or if it’s something bigger. The info would be important to me so that I know how to negotiate with the seller/must. Oh yes, and still the question of what effects it has to continue with this damage without repair.
