  • Replacement for mandatory engine oil XC70

    Hello everyone, a question in the round: On my former XC70 2 (B/P24) 2.4 D (Bj 2010) according to the operating instructions, since 2.4D engine, an A5/B5 oil in 0W-30 is given, which he also got during my ownership times. Now the free with the successor owner 5W-30 has filled, because there would be O-ton “a 0W-30 from Castrol no longer with the release for it.” Then a “Castrol Magnatec A5/B5 5W-30” was taken. Where can I find that this oil or generally which oil except the 0W-30 was released for the vehicle (there is nothing else in the instructions but 0W-30)? Question 2: Of what large oil company is the 0W-30 produced, what Volvo has always filled up with me, and is this oil actually no longer present today. I have the impression that the freeman wanted to fool the afterowner somewhat.

  • Dualxenon for V70 3 (B) ?

  • Engine bearings & vibrations

    Moin Elchgemeinde, have a question about the right engine bearing Volvo 850 2.5-10V, 106kw, EZ 4/96, chassis no. is 244xxx, i.e. >155159. Ask me for a long time why the elk motor vibrations transfer quite strongly into the inside of the car. Engine bearings were changed ALL 2012 at approx. 300Tkm in a free workshop, since about 55Tkm driven (as far as I remember all the bearings of Ruville). Recently I saw that the hydro bearings were changed at the front and back during installation. I have changed, vibrations still there, no noticeable change. Can the hydro bearings have suffered due to the swapped installation? Liquid leakage is not recognizable at all. Recently when changing the coupling rod, a look at the right motor bearing was taken.   • XC90 D5 163 PS latent coolant loss – where to look?

    Moin, with my XC90 D5 163PS an increasing coolant loss spreads with warning message. In the last 4 years I have probably balanced 2-3 times about a quarter to half liter of coolant loss and it was quiet again. But now I had to pour 4-5 times over the last 3 weeks already and have introduced the last time also a cooler sealant, which however did not show the desired effect. The warning message in the BC is created by the donor in the balancing tank, if the coolant level goes below minimum (my wife therefore already had 2x panic high 3). To my knowledge the cooling system then picks coolant out of the balance tank, if the engine has a corresponding temperature, the cooling hoses expand and accordingly more liquid is needed in the system. – Right? This morning I drove 50 km and parked the car for 6.5 hours. When I left again, but after 1 km came again the warning message and the cooling unit After the slow opening of the lid, the coolant bubbered back into the balance tank and stood almost at maximum. But why didn’t the coolant run back into the balance tank again within the downtime? – Can that be defective in the balance tank? Pressure and liquid compensation would have to be done in the cold state after all? Are the coolant hoses to be renewed after 10 years? Or do I have a completely false Vo I would be very grateful for relevant information. With warm greetings from the North German lowland woolgraeser PS: Heating works without problems by the way. Only the left side in the interior is not always as warm as the right side in the heating operation at 22 degrees, it flows cooler air than on the right side (wasn’t there anything with the damper motors?   • Upgrade speakers in the S60?

    My S60 has the normal sound system with 8 speakers, i.e. the simple widebands in the front and rear doors, high performance tweeters in the door (up to MJ2003 as standard) as well as the simple 2-way speakers in the hat rack, sh. also the attached pictures. Radio is the HU-603. I have retrofitted a Grom interface and operate it via the smartphone mostly via Aux-In. Then the original amplifier from Volvo (PA-200) was retrofitted and the speakers in the I also found the equalizer in the hidden radio menu and I already used it. Does it make sense to at least exchange the front door loudspeakers for the high performance? Or does it make more sense to install a normal two-way system at the front? Even the loudspeakers now installed don’t sound so bad and I almost doubt that for small money (~100 EUR) what can be done? or is there a particularly recommendable system? I’ve been out of the topic for a long time, I used to regularly read various car hifi magazines and also made comparatively complex installations. I’ve been looking at systems like Audio System M 165 Plus, Focal 165-A1, Focal IS165 or Rainbow Dream Line DL C6.2. Has someone already changed the speakers in the door in a comparable (speaker) output situation and can use his or her device. Is there any evidence that this is not the case?
