Good morning together, have a Wiechers Domstrebe installed on my V70 II D5 because the steering behaviour was simply too comfortable for me. I installed the standard Volvo “Comfort” suspension. Here is a small report on my part: – Installation – Original Pseudo Domstrebe / Motorhalterung remove and convert to correct Domstrebe = working time 25 minutes. Can anyone hold one socket wrench – Effects – The Domstrebe has two effects. First it connects the two domes The second effect is that the motor’s play is reduced to a minimum. I haven’t installed new engine bearings yet – but surely still comes. – Driving behaviour – I was really surprised that the driving behaviour changed so significantly. The strut brings the necessary stiffness into the complete stem. The steering is noticeably more direct and agile. In the cornering behavior much faster “gripping” of the wheels. – Clutch behavior – Here the biggest change is noticeable. The gears flood softly pure. No more jerking, as the engine block is fixed. The power is available much faster, which leads subjectively to more sense of torque. – Engine noise – The car becomes much louder. With the standard engine mount hardly any noises came into the interior. Now these are clearly audible. The car roars like a real moose Me does not bother – on the contrary. I love the 5 cylinder sound. I’ve got about 0.5 seconds of a plastic-sounding rhinestones from the lower engine range. I have to go over that again. Someone’s a tip what that could be? Gruss Tobi

How does my automatic climate control work?
Hello everybody, I have a question about my automatic climate control. In the morning I always have about 10 min through the city traffic (stop’n’go) before I come on the highway. Now is the season, where my moose always annoys me and opens the air jets at chest height first on the highway. Now I wanted to ask if this is a bug or a feature?! So in the cool-humid season it regulates more air on the front window or is a flap old and jammed and opens first with more wind? With an image of my default setting and actually I also want that I don’t have to turn around constantly (except for the seat or AC on/off). But if the moose is annoying me again, I always have to manually select the nozzles so that I don’t get suffocation attacks. If this is an ever-free sight-through-the-windshield feature, then my question is whether I or the one that can set it up, that it only takes a short time and then switches to normal operation. Good driving all the time.

Indicators of true mileage – V70 II
Hey! I’m currently talking about a V70 II which, according to the (official) dealer, ran almost 70000 km. He voluntarily makes the coupling rods new in the course of the inspection that is due now. There you can have nothing, but I find it quite early. Is that somehow realistic? Sure, sometime sooner, sometimes later, nevertheless I thought about 170000 km for crossbars and coupling rods. Otherwise, tips for other (safe) signs? Here I miss the comparison values. Thank you, and a nice weekend k

Hello at my Volvo came the yellow control light, when I had this read out was the apparent defective the P1332, in the workshop it was said, can be the camshaft adjuster or not, which was looked at, but seems to be good, the message was deleted and after a few days came back the control light…. someone already had the experience, someone knows about it by chance! would like to know it without having to drive straight to the Volvo dealer g Rice

Moose Reanimated – Thanks to the Forum
Hello moose drivers! I have been mostly readers so far, but today I could use the concentrated know-how of the forum members usefully. After now 7.5 years the battery of our V70 has said goodbye today, the first well noticed, after more than 130 tkm a heavy performance of the original equipment supplier. Unfortunately it met my wife. She first called the, which showed little helpful (M. in Bremen Horn, distance 3 kilometers). She should call the ADAC. Said, get The yellow helper was also rather in weekend mood, starting aid and reference to . No testing of the alternator power or anything else . So my wife drives to , gets a new Volvo battery installed , and realizes that the panel in the center console does not work . Answer of : “there must probably be a new board inside . Come back once next week , which we order then . ” Woman frustrated , I get the concentrated L My conclusion: from the replacement of a battery a board should not get broken Ran to the computer, SuFu tries, and soon found the reference to the canbus reset, which he certainly did not carry out. So battery again disconnected, waited 10 minutes, ignition key in position II, battery again connected, and see there, the moose is back full. Moose lives, woman is happy, the weekend is saved, and probably we have at least 500 Euronen saved! Special thanks to Esker! Greetings Ve_sjuttio

OT: Has the §17 para. 3 StVO been amended?
Moin Elch driver, After I have almost become accustomed to the fact that hundreds of thousands of drivers drive around with the fog lights in the area and thus annoy and dazzle the oncoming traffic, now also two pole-line cars have come to meet me at the WE, which also meant to have these things in the clearest conditions. According to my knowledge, there is clearly in § 17 para.3 StVO: Quotation: (3) Prevents fog, snowfall or rain the view is considerable, then also a In such weather conditions only fog lamps may be switched on or has something changed?????

V70 – S60/80 Purchase advice
Hello all, unfortunately I still haven’t found out about a new car. In short: Omega A 2,0 BJ 93, have never driven such a reliable car before, but he is still quite “ready” throughout the years, first Papa, then I,nie Porblme made. Now I would like to have another such vehicle for the next ten years. V70,or if there would be a great kick-off also S60/S80 from BJ 2000 I think. Equipment: climate automation, tempomat and he should be well cared for s 1. Seat heating, PDC and Navi would be great but not so important,Stand heating of course a dream 😉 But now, which machine, no diesel,170 hp should be already and the most important thing, I must be able to pay it. Absolute max. 800€, rather at 700€ end. What would you recommend, is the small Turbo ok with 179 Ps or rather the fingers of the turbomachines right away? Thanks for your answers and efforts. Greeting Kriss

Motor jerks while braking – when pumping the brake it gets quieter
Moin Moin! As a winter car I bought a 850er (140hp) Limo BJ 94 / petrol / manual circuit. The vehicle is very well maintained and currently 182,000 ran. Now I noticed the following. If I press the brake in the stand, the motor – speed remains the same. Pump me a few with the brake pedal, normalizes the jerking and the engine runs completely calm. Same happens when you brake when you drive – the engine jerks. Pump me while driving/braking also like r easy, everything normalizes again. I already made an appointment in the workshop for next week, for a complete inspection. But maybe someone has an idea what that could be – or maybe I could fix it myself in advance. Thank you

Clacking while releasing the brake
Hello, I get a short “crack” sound when I release the brake on my Volvo 850, which I can’t explain to myself. At first it only occurred when the brake came on while driving, but then it continued to roll. At the moment it also occurs once in a while when I stand at the traffic light and take the foot off the brake. The couplings (stabil) rods were changed the other day, new crossbars were installed and the brake discs are also new. I was told it could be due to an imbalance in the brake disc, but it wouldn’t be too bad. What do you think?
