  • New in the Volvo family, with a few small problems

    Moin, I have been the proud owner of a V70 I 2,4T AWD Bj. 99 for 2 months and so far also very satisfied with the vehicle.     Hi there, yesterday I got really angry about my car for the first time. I wanted to drive a distance of 90km. At the descent the rest width indicator said still 200km. Well, I thought, then I fill up after the highway (so after about 75km). That the range indicator is not quite linear (and that can’t be possible) is clear to me. But now the following happened: After 60km of leisurely drive the rest width indicator stands at 60km, jumps on 50km, then the car goes straight out , because tank empty. In the middle of the A7. The ADAC brings the saving canister, fortunately nothing happened and it jumped again with a little starter spray and now I hope that the pump did not suffer too much. It is clear to me that it is a certain risk to drive the car towards the reserve. Only if you are used to driving 1000km/week, you do not want to refuel all 400.     hello – I’m new here and try to find out a problem on this way: With my V70 (diesel/automatic) the following happens again and again at irregular intervals: during the ride all warning lights suddenly light up during the ride, there is a small jerk – the lamps go out again and the ride continues. In the stand I have already run out of engine, that means probably that this also happens during the ride, but by the swing it becomes almost like has someone had something like that before and what was that at the end? Many people for your answers!!!

  • RTI doesn’t want any more

    Hello everyone, my RTI worked until recently with a 2005 DVD without any problems. But since I also own a (original) 2007 DVD (which unfortunately never worked) I asked during the last workshop visit, you should take care of it. You probably put a cleaning CD in there, but otherwise allegedly nothing else did. Unfortunately the result was that the 2005 DVD doesn’t work anymore! The question is now: Can this be or has been so the next question is: can one somehow achieve, by software, that the previously perfectly functioning disk suddenly no longer runs (I somehow have the quiet suspicion, they want to build me a new Lauwerk) What do you think about it???   • Immobilizer suddenly active!!

    Hello dear Volvo community, after having been able to sing praise songs for quite a while on the indestructibility of the V70 family, my voice suddenly stopped yesterday when the immobilizer suddenly showed activity at the start. In other words… start engine…. jumps into usual mania immediately … and… goes out immediately again!! (typical immobilizer). After 2-3 tests, which always ended immediately, I took the spare key and tried the start process with this key ..u nd …. look at this key, the engine stayed on!! What was that? Can such a “displacement lock sensor” break in the key? Background (which may be useful): I have problems with the mechanics of the ignition lock (keys sometimes go quite hard in). Therefore, a key always stuck in the ignition lock with me, in order to spare just this mechanics and the second key we used to open and close the door. This also works for about a year very g ut. This means that the key that suddenly failed yesterday (or the “reminder sensor” for a year was constantly in close proximity to the antenna ring of the immobilizer at the ignition lock. But to construct a reason for this error, I can’t imagine. But why does the second key, which otherwise is always in my pocket ?? Maybe one of you can help me further….I’m honestly perplexed… and that after 400tkm with my (otherwise t t.)   • Question about new dampers and springs

    Hello together. My 99er V70 has again quite fresh TÜV, but in spite of everything the dampers and springs are still the original ones, at almost 300tkm they are just finished. Have no Niveavomaten. Which dampers or springs can you recommend? Actually it should not be lower, should remain quite original, is anyway not a racing car with 140 hp. Would like to spend quality, but not necessarily a fortune. I am grateful for tips!

  • SC-805 Plug and Play with SC-901?

    Hi people, my C70 had the SC-805 radio and the 4x60Watt amplifier installed as standard. The loudspeakers have Dynaudio stickers. After I have a 4x100Watt amplifier and a SC-901 installed, my sound is really not intoxicating and I have to make extreme settings on the equalizer so that it can sound pretty good. Can it be that I didn’t notice anything and now what’s wrong with the setup? And the SC-901 isn’t, is it? I know the original Dolby system from the C70, that was super.
