  • Volvo 850 Combi, trailer coupling too high for caravans

Hello together We have a Volvo 850 Combi with detachable trailer coupling (Original Volvo). If we now attach our trailer, it hangs very deep at the rear (in front of the trailer coupling too high, then very deep at the back). We now have big concerns about driving with this trailer on a ferry – the chance that the trailer is lying up and thus the ground is damaged is very high. Someone knows how to solve such a problem (put the trailer coupling somehow lower) or something ?) Thanks for advice Franziska

  • ETS, MKL and oil lamp glow….I could cry

Hello together, unfortunately I couldn’t find it in the search function. For two weeks it has been lit by my 2.4er, 99 he year of construction when it gets warm the ETS lamp. If I turn it off then the lighting is gone and doesn’t go on again. The next day the same problem. Now I have worked today the throttle flap with Liqui Moly cleaner. Lief actually without problems and the slight jerking in the idle was then also gone. I am then several times the highway feeder on On the way back, the oil lamp went on. Oil level was good. Shortly after, the MKL was added. I then parked the car immediately, although it was completely normal. Normal on the gas, no flaps etc. Unfortunately, I don’t know myself with cars and as a student I don’t have much money to put in repairs. Do I have a motor damage now? Does anyone have an idea what it might be? Then I might give the workshop a hint. Do free workshops usually have a readout device for Volvo? First of all, thank you, Flyingelse

  • Connection of battery and ECUs?

Hello dear elk friends, I have a technical question: What connection is there between the battery and the control units or the vehicle technology? I have always assumed that the battery is “only” to start; but what should not be the case due to my following description. I had for some time the problem, which somehow the moose did not want to do so properly. Feeled power had been missing, he has delayed in giving gas (as if the command “Gib” Then the throttle cap was added, but only when starting and it went out again after some time. The engine also didn’t start immediately, or occasionally went out immediately again. Long speech short sense, it was the battery. That was over. New pure everything again good!! But what does the battery have to do with the throttle flap when starting? Please close my car education gap. Greetings Hessenelch

  • MT indicator light on, temperature indicator drives elevator, on Friday I want to drive 800km

Before that, I wanted to pay my mother a visit, go, and the engine control light goes on. Restart (i.e. by battery), but it is still on. To my mother (5km), temperature goes up, until 3 o’clock. Then she suddenly starts to drive a lift (i.e., down, down, half-high, up, run…. (i.e. up until 3 o’clock, not 12 o’clock). Same game on the way back. Plug down from the thermostat sensor, WD 40 in, try again. The sensor is only half a year old. Sounds to me, and feels like it’s already broken again. Must be picked up by the mechanic, error tomorrow. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? And the best thing to do is to go to Norderney on holiday with my family on Friday. I installed the roof box yesterday, and it was clean again. It’s about 800 km from me. It always happens when it doesn’t fit in. MIST! Mike

  • V70 III Total windscreen wiper failure

Hello dear moose drivers, since yesterday the windscreen wiper of my V70 MJ2010 doesn’t want any more. It doesn’t matter whether it turns on the rain sensor or tries the different modes. I’ve already tried the following: -Clamp the battery for a few minutes -Safety checked (yes, the fuse no. 9 which is completely sick in the engine room). Interesting is that when I activate the rain sensor, the green LED lights up in the button for about 1/2 sec. and then again it’s clear. If anyone still has a good idea, let him make it known. • S60 – New tires mounted, now spongy!!!

Hello, my S60 got 4 new summer tires before the winter again quickly. (the old ones were really down and I couldn’t refuse the good offer…) 4 new Continental “Conti Sport Contact 3” in the dimension 225/45-R17 – 91Y were mounted. And now the disaster: from approx. 70 km/h the steering EXTREM becomes spongy from approx. 120 km/h the car is impassable!!! You can really notice how the tires “wind” when driving. It feels like I’m driving on lubricating soap. Re ifendruck fits exactly according to the indication on the tank cover (front 2.2 bar, rear 2.1 bar). I tried it with increased air pressure (vo+hi additional 0.4 bar) but nothing at all. Load index also fits! Tires are also correctly mounted (outside to outside). Maybe it is also worth mentioning that tire gas was filled!? With my old Pneus (Good Year Eagle F1 “Assymetric” was a spongy steering no topic! Car drove like on rails! Now my Question(s): The new tyres have now about 50 kilometers down. I.e. a possibly existing greasy layer on the tread should have already disappeared, right!? Has anyone experienced something similar?? Should this phenomenon not occur, can I then advertise? (Tires have been bought and assembled at A.T.U) I am grateful for every tip, since I am already close to despair (so driving is really no fun and is also sucking dangerous!!!) Thank you, LG, Nordisk.

  • Bumper and exhaust system!

Hello dear forum, I would have asked two questions: What is this front bumper? www.heicosportiv.de/nextshopcms/cmszoom.asp?id=4333 2. How expensive would this exhaust system cost for a volvo s60 2.4 2004 96kw? www.heicosportiv.de/mainframe.asp?lang=de&e1=211 I didn’t want to make a direct request to Heico but rather ask here first! Thank you mfG paddy450

  • V70 D5 VMAX=200 km/h

Hi, my V70 D5 from 2003 with 310,000km is only 200 km/h for a few weeks, according to Tacho. Before it accelerated quite quickly with three-quarters of gas to where it then controlled. Now it does not accelerate so quickly and creates with ach and krach downhill at full gas I can remember the following relevant events: Do you have an idea what slows the moose so? I have read here already something of the marten-knappered hoses on the intercooler. How can I check whether the L adepressum is sufficiently high? Probably you will hear nothing, because the engine is simply too loud at 3,000 rpm. Would be grateful for a push in the right direction. Greeting, wrecked

  • V70 Purchase

Hello to Alle… I know these posts are annoying for you already!? But I’ve been looking around this forum for 2 days, but unfortunately I didn’t find anything suitable. The thing is, I want to buy a Volvo V70 used. The price for this should be between 5000 and 800€. First of all, the reliability is important to me of course. There I drive, according to many statements in the forum, probably quite well with such a Volvo. Second the place (that’s why the V70). AAABut, which M otor? First, I would like to have it converted to gas and second, I would like to use it to pull a caravan. Now, of course, it depends on which engines I get both well under one roof, and what I can get for the above mentioned money. I have of course already looked around myself and I noticed the year 1999 to 2002 for the money. Maybe there are some here in the forum that also pull a caravan and can recommend me an engine? Many thanks to Alle… Greeting Sebastian

  • Grinding drive shaft right front in cold condition

Hi! Here I have a 2008 V 70 III T6, which produces in cold condition grinding noises from the drive area at the front right. When I turn the right front wheel (on stage), the grinding noise comes along and it also shortly follows when the wheel is already standing still. Seems to come out of the gearbox somewhere. In warm condition the noise is gone, in cold condition it is clearly audible in the interior. Does anyone have a tip? Greeting,Martin
