  • Compression on T5

Moin moin, can someone tell me how high the compression should be with the T5? I have here a section with the heading “compression pressure sample”, so he should have 1,3-1,5 MPa (13-15 bar). But does not stand for which engine. The turbo is lower compressed, right? (Otherwise I have to worry…). Greetings Nils PS: the throttle flap rises from the accelerator via a rope pull?

  • Death

Since I have already had very good experiences here, I would like to try it again here. Today, one day before the 18 year old, my Volvo, just doesn’t want it anymore. We were on the road and the engine just went off. No warning, no warning lamp, just nothing. Start attempt: Engine went off briefly and immediately again. Several repetitions brought the same result. After a longer break the engine started, quiet idle and gas acceptance…. And again. How long r the break, the longer the engine run. Still no luminous motor lamp. So call breakdown service. Simple diagnosis of the breakdown service did not result in a deposited fault. Together we still separated the fuel line in front of the injection strip and started again. Fuel sprayed down to the road. Petrol pump probably in order?! On the question of which garage should be transported, I called my home. There he stands now and waits for help. dee, who brings my Volvo back to the road? Thank you and a nice weekend. Greet René

  • VolVo V70 rattles front left in idle

Hello guys, with my V70 (Bj 98, 2.5 TDI, 140 HP) I have had a number of problems for a long time: 1.) At a low engine speed (usually around 1000) in idle mode as well as during braking I have a “sheet” sound at the front left, which sounds very unhealthy. 2.) When I drive a left turn at a speed of 90-100 km, the front right of the front is clapping. 3.) My air conditioning unit constantly loses coolant at intervals of a few months. rin (recommended and filled by Volvo) does not cause a problem. Then it is filled up again expensively, so it smells very strange afterwards, when you turn on the air conditioning. At some point the smell (and the coolant) disappears and then the air conditioning gives up the mind. The resident Volvo dealer only shrugs with the shoulders and I have to constantly go to the hairdresser because I stand with anger the hair on the mountain! Who can help me ???

  • Heating Ventilation with manual climate very bad

Hello together, after a long unsuccessful search with many keywords, I hope on this way for the right tip. Drive a V70 XC year 99 with MANUELLER air conditioning. To the problem: Heating usually stays cold, from all ventilation nozzles comes almost no!! Airflow. Only with fully turned up heating controllers left and right comes then some lukewarm air. If you run this for too long, comes from the dashboard with the lightest twists (e.g. bend drive Krei If it does not happen, then the ventilation channels that have become too hot are probably. If the controller is manually operated on, the disc, head or foot space simply does not change!! Fan runs around correctly, also permanently with proper power, but has the impression that the air flow is simply blocked by the closed flaps. From the flap box it does not go any further….Keyword temperature jam. The heat exchanger is new, pollen fi Of course, I also replaced the only actuator (with a kind of screw wheel) with a used air conditioner. I also paid careful attention to the same installation position. I was already 2x with the dedicated friendly, he meant now it can only hang the flaps but why and why, also did not know at first. The much quoted learning did not work in any case. So now I have (too) written/ described a lot, much You still have an igniting idea. Otherwise I only have the 3rd visit / try at the friendly one. Thank you in advance! Greeting from the district GT

  • Volvo 850 engine runs far too fat and always drains.

Moin, my car a Volvo 850 2.5l 144hp 10V which unfortunately runs much too fat or does not run long after I clean the spark plugs and start it again after a shorter time or if you want to give gas it takes a relatively long time until the speed rises and sometimes when you give gas it goes out. What I have already checked if it works: 1. Ignition distributor finger and distributor cap is still perfect and not old. Ignition cables are not old (all so 1.5 2. Ignition coil measured and also runs. 3. Ignition spark is also very strong with all 5 spark plugs. 4. camshaft sensor works. 5. crankshaft sensor also works. 6. throttle flap and everything associated with it. 7. he has very good compression too. What I would have suspected in is the sensor for the throttle flap and the temperature sensor from the cooling water. Or what would you say someone had already had such a problem or can me someone else help I hope someone can help me.

  • D5252T 2.5 TDI AEL – rough running, vibrations, nailing

Hello, a question to all Volvo and/or especially diesel experts :=) I own a V70 98 2.5 TDI with currently a good 380,000 km, the car is first hand, constantly checkbook maintained, stands there optically like a 5 year old and drives almost like this :=) However, the good elk has been falling for a few weeks due to a rather rough engine run, feel – and audible vibrations and a rich nailing. These symptoms were not there at once, I would say it has deteriorated after, so I didn’t notice it at first. Bzw. with the high mileage and the age I thought, “that must be so” – besides, I can’t draw any comparisons, how other 2.5 TDI AEL listens to this mileage. Yesterday the car was in the workshop with a friendly car master, also he noticed the rough run and the vibrations immediately and he said it doesn’t sound healthy at all, and an AEL with the mileage usually doesn’t sound like that. The fact is, the engine always starts perfectly, ignites immediately, has power, a brand new turbocharger, always fresh oil and a new Vaku pump. With cold engine the rough run, the vibrations etc. is stronger, if it is really warm, it becomes a bit less. I use the car daily, drive a lot of long distance (max. 120-130 km/h) and actually intended to drive it up to 500,000 KM – thought with the 2.5 TDI this should not be a problem. Do you have any tips or experiences on how to best proceed?

  • Motor-jumping thrust operation 170hp gasoline, automatic….?

I have now tried and observed a lot. I have observed the following with my 170hp gasoline automatic (MY 07, 44000km). The engine runs generally nicely round and evenly. Stand-up gas also. No change if climate on or off. Also cruise control has no influence. NUN to the actual. I have the impression if I give only minimal gas the impression that the engine is jerking and stockerich(?) runs. Especially if I drive for example so 120 then go off the gas and so at approx. 100km give only minimal gas again d the gas so stop. I mean that I have this bumpy engine run even when I have gone off the gas. Similar to a carburetor motor which is too lean. But the engine willingly picks up gas and accelerates cleanly. Even with stronger gas position you don’t notice anything. Only if you give gas very gently and leave it in “sleep position” so to speak. I then opened the air filter box and knocked out the filter. The air filter box was quite different. The LMM looked clean. I am not exactly a professional when it comes to this engine and also petrol injections. I would be interested in which factors to intervene in the control system or if this is possibly simple and simply normal for the engine. What about the valve play? That can also be such effect. How am I supposed to narrow down the problem if it should be one at all?

  • Offer okay? – XC90 Ocean Race D5

Since in the future there will be some reperatures in my S80 and the place with 2 children with a stepback limo is quite cramped, I made my way today and drove some dealers to see what the market offers. I came to the dealer where I also bought my S80 on the following vehicle and wanted to hear your opinion about it: XC90 D5 Ocean Race, 04/2006, approx. 42,500km, 185hp, Automatic, DPF, Blaumet., Leather, Phone, Bi-Xenon, Nivea uregulierung, Audio High Performance, 7 seater, standing heating, sliding roof, etc. so actually full equipment except for Navi (which I don’t want to have either – have a portable and am very satisfied with it). Looks so great, only once possibly the driver’s seat “grease”, because the leather looks a bit dry there. The car should cost about 31.000.-€. What do you think of the price? How can you compare the running costs from the XC90 to the S80 (inspection, spare parts etc.)? certainly be higher – with the S80 I can get there at the moment with approx. 6.5 liters. What can the XC90 draw 2t certainly, right? Greetings

  • Software configuration Central locking

Hello, with the XC90 (and probably also with other models) you can configure via VIDA the software of the central locking system so that a) the ZV automatically locks at more than 7km/h (so that someone does not go up when stopping unsolicited), b) 1x only push the driver door opens and 2x all doors (so that when opening the car someone from the other side does not get in unsolicited). In the USA I found these features very useful. Even if I do not now in Southern Chicago l ebe, I’m thinking about getting these security settings played up (about 30€ each). So the question: Has anyone had experience with one or both settings? Thank you! Greeting Ralf
