  • S40 II conversion (HiFi system and lighting inside and outside)

Hello! I have to install a hi-fi system (and other optical toys) in front of me with my car (Volvo S40 II, 2005) because I still have it in my basement and I don’t want to sell it! So this thread could be good instead of a showcase product, for other people who want to build something in the direction. I will post all my activities gradually because I don’t have 5 days at a time! Available is: high-performance audio – that means e s is already an amplifier in the trunk of which I will tap off the signal and speaker cables As a second battery the old main battery is used, new one was installed on 10.3.2015, said old one has ~80% power to be installed: 1x 1kW RMS subwoofer from Hifonics 1x 125W RMS 4-channel amplifier with high input (Crunch MXB4200i) 1x 150W RMS 4-channel amplifier for boot speakers 1x 2kW power amplifier 1x 1F capacitor (possibly also 2F) 1x 2kW changer 1x second battery with separation relay 2x 300W 3-way trunk speaker (for parking spaces) The whole thing is built into the trunk in a modular structure in a trunk tray so that this plug & play is for the car (and possibly other cars). The whole part will then be 1m wide, 80-100cm long and max. 50cm high! Photos later on. Above all else: It may take until I post pictures and these will appear gradually! I am working full-time and therefore usually only have time on weekends! So please be patient, I hope the result can be seen!

  • Sound quality hands-free device – roaring micro

Hello municipality, I asked a similar question some time ago, but still here still an attempt. I use the hands-free device installed in the C70 II Facelift Momentum as standard, i.e. I couple the mobile phone via Bluetooth. My interlocutors complain sadly that they understand me only with a lot of background noise and that the conversation for them is therefore very exhausting and unpleasant – and that already at country roads tempo. I think the car is “developed” and it is not a question of any software noise suppression tricks. Rather, it should be banal physics that passes through wind noise or vibrations to the microphone. I suppose it is contained in the plastic part, in which the indoor lighting lights and switches also slumber?! Has someone ever seen the a special “insulation” around the micro installed in self-direction? Thank you and best regards, Cesevenzig

  • Sales price Volvo V50 2008

Hello together, can you tell me how much you can get for a 2008 Volvo V50 1.6D Kinetic with Navi and approx.145000km mileage incl. a few optical blessurs (is not a new car) if you put the one of a dealer or “Ali” on the yard? I unfortunately do not come the days to drive the dealers themselves, since I am on a business trip, but would need an approximate size with which I can expect. Thank you very much.

  • Suffering theme: Summer tires

Huhu Together, I’m looking for new flaps for my V50. Have the standard tyres of 205/55/R16 on it and need something new there accordingly. For example, they are the EnergySavers from Michelin, but are also not a must. With all the different designations I don’t see any more. For a tire there are 5-6 different types on the internet and I honestly don’t know where they differ. So driving is more normal and designed for consumption, city/country/motorway to 50/20/30 % price what I would spend would be so 60-80/tires. What have you had good experiences with?

  • XC90: How does the parking brake actually work?

Hello together, as you know, I am about to explore the last secrets of this world, ok with my car stop The XC90 has no hand brake, but a parking brake. You pass the small pedal, and the parking brake is activated. So far, so good. But what exactly does the parking brake do? Through the following I came into the pondering: Light gradient, automatic on N, brake. Now activate parking brake, release brake, and …… the car rolls a little bit If the parking brake had the effect like a conventional hand brake, then the car should not have rolled. So, what does the parking brake do? For clarifications xc90s thank you in advance …even if it does not actually use the brake.

  • Help to widen the track

Hi finally got distance discs 30mm per wheel and mounted the same. It looks great, the tires are standing but max 5mm out is no problem and so, after a few days I noticed that it grinds from time to time, they are still original shock absorbers and springs. A buddy thinks I can mount springs limiter and the thing is Gesgesen. Is that true? Is this the last way out? Or what can I do to not grind the tires at caroserie. Distance discs I don’t want to cut to no case mount or exchange.

  • S80-I: 1x shock absorber complete …

Hello everyone, when I just got my used medium-elk from the 190TKM inspection, I was 2x surprised. I had asked the mechanic to take a look at the shock absorbers and, if necessary, to make a KV. 1. Surprise: My moose should have a level control – I have not noticed yet. Quite the contrary: with a trailer or with 3 adults in the back he went *something* in the back knee – not doll, but de This should avoid leveling, right? Can this be that this leveling is “deactivated” or just broken? How can one recognize that one has one? 2. Surprise: The price in the KV – 1,9kEUR for 1x shock absorber all around incl. axle measurement, payroll and fairytale tax. Does this only occur to me so much …. ?? I have noticed very well that the shock absorber at the rear with approx. 470 EUR / pcs WITHOUT VAT, but still … V iele Greetings Andreas PS: Am I just too clumsy to use the search function, or can you find in the S80 forum really only 1 thread on the topic “level regulation” ????

  • Surrender at 1300 revolutions V70III D5

Hello everyone…. I have a question about a noise that can be heard for about 4 weeks. V70 III 2014 D5 215 hp automatic 134tkm down I bought the car with 94000 20 months ago…there was not yet the buzz. The noise is speed-dependent and very strong to hear at about 1300 revolutions. When I set to N during the ride and the speed is increased it is also to hear. Tempomat at 55 kmh and I hear it permanently. I was my Volvo dealer and he said it might be d the timing belt or the alternator. The timing belt is only due at 180 tkm. Is there anyone here who is familiar with all this ? What would you do in my place ? Thank you already Thomas

  • Instrument failure on an S 60.

Moin, moin, this is my first visit to the Volvo-Talk, otherwise I am on the road in the BMW E39 Talk. In this case it is about the commuter car of my son-in-law. It is about a Volvo S60, first series, year March 2000, 2,4l, 170hp with a Prins gas system. Previous mileage 327,000 km. For about 2 weeks there are sporadic failures of the combination instrument, which attracts the failure of the instrument lighting, the climate control, all indicators, the seat heating. of the blower, the The rear window heating, the window lifter and the entire interior lighting result. The only lamp is the gear indicator of the automatic. What has been done so far: a repair attempt of the combi instrument by a renowned company that eliminates pixel errors. Apart from a bill of 59€ and the statement “irreparabel” no success. After visiting a free Volvo workshop with the statement ” 100% the combi instrument” was made a new repair attempt. This other company said un s, you have no simulation for this part because it is from the first series. In one test you soldered all the suspects known to you. Unfortunately, the success lasted only 2 days. Then I installed a used AI with exactly the same designations, again no success. Of course all fuses were checked (visibility and passage test). We are at the end with our Latin. The visit of a Volvo dealer is not possible for cost reasons! I hope now that the verbal The knowledge of this forum can show us a fingertip to heal the moose. Without heating it is already quite cold in the car. Sorry the length of the article. Greeting from the north Bernd.

  • Who does the start-stop function in XC60 (Automatics / Eco-Mode) get on the nerves?

Moin, that Volvo doesn’t have the smartest start-stop automatic I know from my V60, but now in the new XC60 (automatic) it has become even worse. In eco mode the engine (and thus also the steering power support) starts at 3km/h. So if you are standing on a crossroad and slows down briefly, the engine is off and needs his 2 seconds again until he realizes that he shouldn’t. Not so nice for me and all the others involved. At Audi ka nn you control the function by means of pressure on the brake pedal itself, that is a dream, with Volvo it always goes out, even in the city every few seconds, depending on the speed. Follow: I switch it off completely at the start of the journey (on the highway you don’t need it either…). That the function switches off the engine immediately after the start of the journey, even at the lowest levels of advantage, a sensor then realizes that it’s fucking cold outside and inside it too and it motor after a minute of driving. rt too, and then he starts again, is unfortunately really no mistake, according to my friend the software is a bit stupid and can’t help it… Otherwise I am completely happy with the car (except for the lukewarm speed-dependent volume control, but that was another thread 🙂
