  • XC60 Navi – No information at Autobahnkreuzen

    Hello I drive an XC60 MJ 2017, two months old. The navigation system noticed the following: I drive on the highway and approach a motorway junction. In this case I expect from the Navi a support (text note, track note, sign note) to be able to decide in which direction I have to go. Usually this is a “right or left” decision. Or “left or straight or right”. My Navi usually remains completely silent, not a single hint, nothing, nada. Only very rarely does the expected support actually appear by means of trace or sign information. Solving the solution so far – Map updated (by dealer) – Infotainment system updated (by dealer) – In the menu of the Navis all settings configured appropriately Does anyone have experience with this problem?   • Volvo XC60 resistance in the steering ca. 500 m then away

    Moin, I bought a used Volvo xc60 2.4D DRIVe 2 months ago BJ. 2009. I always have the problem that the steering seems to block in the morning. If you turn on the steering wheel when you start driving, you notice a not insignificant resistance, up to a certain point where it feels like you are overcoming the blockage and from there the steering to stop is normal again, impact in the other direction the same problem. The problem is after about 500m and 3-4 times steering in the warm state absolutely no problems are noticeable, only makes itself noticeable if the car has stood at times good 8 hours, for example overnight. Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

  • New recall belt tensioner- V60

    Today was a registered letter from the VCG in the post office: Our V60 D5 (205 hp) EZ 15.11.2010 belongs to a “limited number of vehicles of the Volvo V60 series in which an early wear of the belt tensioner for auxiliary units can occur.” We should now immediately get in touch with that. Will call tomorrow… Well, I thought already after the last inspection (3 years/60,000) again for 1 year rest. In this maintenance, by the way, the belt tension was also r renewed according to maintenance plan. Currently it is km 65,000 without any problems.     Moin Moin! I hope you can help me further?! I have a howling/jauling in the engine compartment since 2 TAGs. It comes from the front right in any case. It doesn’t get any better or worse when the engine is warm. When it accelerates it will take more and when the gas is taken away “turns it down slowly”! In the stand it is also quiet to hear. If you take the gear out during the ride it also becomes quieter. It accelerates even more super.     Good evening, I’m new here in the forum because I just don’t find an answer to my problem. I drive a Volvo 850 TDI with 375tsd. km on the hump. I let the good all parts new. Among them also kerb belts with belt tensioner from Gates new water pump and pulley rollers. I picked up the vehicle from my workshop of trust and examined the work. I noticed that the belt does NOT run centered on the belt tensioner and I exactly the Now I have everything new with high-quality parts and the problem is the same. Is possibly a nice person here who can explain to me why this strap does not run centrally on the spanner. He runs almost half way towards the motor on the spanner.   • HiFi in 850 – 2023 edition

    Moin, the old 96’s 850 came to me with a SC-700. The thing has a certain 80’s radio charm, but overall the sound is something very much on the, hmmm, “smuggling” side. Even though the preset EQ somehow conjures up more bass. I have a test time an old Alpine 7817R (yes, the Goldeneye radio) connected with an adapter and… HOLY SHIT! Radio stations, which come in with a reasonably separated stereo signal, sound better than anything I’ve ever done in the 8 50 heard. Incredible! Unfortunately, the CD part of the thing is now completely overtaken. From the fact that the laser is no longer the best the music sounds actually worse than the radio signals. But since I would like to play MP3 in the car, but find no more Yatour for the old Alpine M bus, I think now which headunit I pack in. Sure, what more modern with Navi and co would be nice, and there are now also very good Android devices with good Au but you have a modern navigation system based on software and at the same time good sound. But: Can it be that simply “old” radios harmonize better with the factory sound system in the 850? I immediately had the impression at Alpine that the sound went strongly towards the 801 radios of the PSS, which were also from Alpine. I also have the feeling that some of the speakers are a bit “tired” about the beadings. But since the LS in the 85 0 yes perfectly matched to the vehicle, I don’t want to replace it with others. Does it help to glue in new beadings?

  • Volvo C70N suspension too hard

    Hello all, my C70, 2.0T, Bj 2001, normal 16 inch suspension, is front hard suspension, although it is always said that the car is so spongy. At least my free Volvo workshop (corner in M?nchen) says after detailed examination that it is the normal serial suspension. Can this be oser something is not right here ?
