  • V50 purchasing advice

Hello dear forum, I am looking for a family car up to 5,000 € (for emergency also 6000) . Best a station wagon , if necessary also Touran or similar i would like a petroler with not too much mileage and ESP , ABS and Isofix . And too LAST the vehicle should be . Do me a favor A4 or a Golf Variant these are but I find either very expensive (a4) or scare me off the TSI / FSI engines . Avensis (T25 ) also find very good , seems to me too big . Octavia likes , but I find the (trustworthy) offers in Berlin rather thin. However, this V50 has done me good:https://suche.mobile.de/…/details.html?… It’s 200km away from me, but since Berlin doesn’t have many Volvos for the budget, it seems quite ok. What do you think, is it worth a trip and what is generally to think of (this) V50? My research has so far produced nothing (too) worse. The spare parts are probably expensive. But of these similar I haven’t found any problems like the VW Gasoline. Thank you for your advice! Greeting Meran

  • Oil consumption 2.4 , 2.4i , T5

Good day, My Swede with a 2.4 (140hp) engine currently consumes about 400ml of oil per 1000km. (150TKM mileage, year 2006) Otherwise a dream car!! Performance is still completely available. Mostly I consume about 1000km hardly anything and then I suddenly consume on 500km 600ml of oil. Use the Castrol 0W-30 (recommended by Volvo workshop). Is an oil change to a viscous oil (e.g. Shell 0W-40) useful? Would you like to stay at 0W, as I soon live in Lapland and it there Very cold in winter The car was at Volvowerkstatt and was examined for oil loss. “Unfortunately” everything negative. Spark plugs also checked for residues. So nothing leads to an oil burning/oil loss. Have never seen a blue cloud in the back. What do you consume with this engine? Is that normal? Selling? Engine wash? Thank you for your help!! If information is missing, please ask.

  • V50 1.6d, various motor topics + questions

Hello all, I have some questions about a V50 1.6D from 2006 (key no. 9101/ABO): I write some stick point-like observations, infos + questions together. Maybe someone can help me further. – The car has run 180Tkm, is moved every day 2x 40km highway – Fzg. was before ~3000km to the oil change -> today tested: too much oil. Where can this come from? – MKL is not at the light, no noises, no pains, no power loss. Car actually runs normally except: “ru mpeliger” cold start, approx. 5 sec. slight speed fluctuations after starting – Is there a message if the Eolys tank is empty? This was last filled up at the DPF exchange in 02/2015 at 120Tkm – How do you recognize that the DPF regenerated? – Error memory has ADM-E010, ECM-6630, ECM-2A40 ? – Air filter replaced: the old was oily – s. Photo attached, what task has the red marked part? around it everything is oily – The yellow marked air hoses have an oil film inside, up to the air filter he, also in the turbocharger is oil… I would like to drive the car for a while, but I have concerns above all about the oil in the air hoses… Thank you very much in advance!

  • The desire for a T5

Hello dear community, I recently sold my beloved V50 2.0D. With more of a crying eye than with a laughing eye. The model which is supposed to follow is actually already clear, again a V50. However with the T5 engine. The higher fuel consumption compared to my old one is rather unimportant, because the work path has been significantly shortened. In addition, I dream for a long time about the dying engine combination 2.5l 5cylinder turbo. But now to my questions: What about the AWD? Does this drivetrain cause more problems than the FWD? How solid and robust is it? -To this end, one has to say, I live in northern Germany. So no mountains and AWD not necessarily necessary, but possibly nice to have. Handswitch or automatic? Automatic takes a little bit of the sportiness, but at Stop and Go in the city perhaps more pleasant? Since also the question about the solid. Finally: I noticed that there are extremely few in DE and have therefore looked around me Europe-wide and e Is there any experience, speciality or simply whether a purchase from the Netherlands would be recommended or not? Thank you very much! Lg PS: the only alternative to the V50 would be the S40 II as T5

  • Roof problems – Volvo baffled?

Hello, my C70 II had a roof flaw and lt workshop was the control unit defective. After researching and thinking because I really liked the C70 I had it changed at Volvo, including everything that belongs to it (software set up, adjustment, etc.) Now after I picked it up I opened the roof 4x in 2weeks and then message trunk not closed, it was checked but everything has to be inside in top opening position the cover below and the trunk m was closed. Then when pressing the roof opening again the windows drove down 2 cm and there were roof defects… workshop. I did this and in the workshop the error was understandable. Error memory gave no information where the problem lies. Fzg then stood for a few days with Volvo and despite this error nothing was to be found. In the workshop it was e.g. when it was open no more to… Then without reason it went back in the workshop and there the roof was opened x times and closed sen. LT. Volvo direct demand of the dealer – it could be the main power connection to the control unit. It should not be the same error and the change of the control unit would have been necessary. Since it worked nothing was done and… I picked it up again after 3 times opening within 2 weeks…. The error is back. Does anyone have an idea or tip? I’m concerned that it works – and after the not insignificant costs I find the result something However, I’m not satisfied with what it costs to pay for the error – that’s why you give the Fzg to the dealer of the manufacturer. My suspicion was in the roof contacts because I had that with the beeping when crossing a floor shaft before the workshop visits, this was solved by pressing the roof closing button. Now I give the Fzg back to Volvo, I am grateful for every tip that helps. Ultimately it is a technical problem. I took the new control unit with me. I noticed the error in connection with higher outside temperature – but that can also be related to the fact that you usually try to open the roof when it is warmer.

  • Rugging and high consumption at our V50 2.0D with 180000

Hello guys, we have problems with our V50 again. It is a 2.0D and has a little over 180000 on the speedometer. I briefly describe the procedure of things. It started with increased consumption- Currently we are at about 8L/100Km. We were at the Free Workshop, no diagnosis, no error with the universal device indicated. Well, continued. Then a slight jerking in the lower speed range was added. We then drove further up in the display of the error “Motorsystem maintenance e The reason for this was that the workshop did not have an appointment in the next few weeks and only deleted the error. I then tried to find a bug myself. So I bought and set up a Vida Dice on Ebay. My first guess was that the DPF did not make any more regeneration. The DPF was not changed at 120000, only professionally cleaned. So the first thing I did was that the DPF was not replaced at 120000. e I read the last cycle from the regeneration, this showed at 2,5km. I started from a permanent regeneration, therefore also the high consumption. So the filling of the additive tank read out – 1/15, LEER. Then got me a liter of Eoys 176 and replenished the additive tank. About Vida then reset. Read out 15/15. Super I thought it would be, the additive will be replenished at the next refueling, regeneration and good. At the first refueling I am at risk with the Vida. n to see if the pump is running after refueling. Unfortunately, the pump did not run. However, I don’t get any error from the ADM. The pump is not running again via the function of filling the additive hose after repair. How would you like to continue? My wife usually moves the Volvo, this morning the message “motor system maintenance is required” came again at the speed ranges 1200 and 2300 when there was a strong jerking. I will read out the message again this evening. About jeg I would be very happy if I could give you tips! Thank you very much in advance! -so long

  • V70D5: DPF retrofit

Hello together, think about having my V70D5 AWD – MY05 with DPF retrofitted soon. Main reason is a possible better value with later resale as well as threatening driving bans for “filterless” here in Ö with fine dust limit value exceeded. Have already been looking for a bit in MT, but I get real experience values – regarding: 1.) More consumption 2.) Impact on driving performance 3.) Compatibility with Chiptuning 4.) Other: durability, sound, ..usw. For your reports would be I thank you very much. Greetings, D5AWD

  • XC90: Dynaudio premium sound astonished

Hello, after I had the system with ProLogic II in the predecessor XC90, I did not spare any costs to get the Dynaudio-Premium sound system. This wish (and a few more small things) led to the order from the Exec. The speakers, at least in the front, are really great. I am very satisfied with some adjustment over the equalizer at the front. But now my problem comes: While I was sitting in the “sound room” in the 2003-XC90 with ProLogicII setting (fader neutral), i.e. I can hear the music from the left, the center and the right, as well as the music from the back. In the same setting, I can only hear the music from the front. When trying faders all the way to the front or all the way to the back, there is a significant difference in the volume. (loud in the front, quiet in the back) Now my question to other Dynaudio owners: Do you also have this feeling? Can it be that by the other sitting position of the 2nd row in the 7-seater than in the 5-seater, the speakers can be It can hardly lie on the ears, as I hear enough in the front. Mine finds the sound, probably in consequence too little experience with the Dynaudio system in order… For experiences and information I am grateful. Greetings Langer02

  • (provisional) balance sheet XC90

Hello, here my (provisional) final report on the topic XC90 (XC90 2.5T after 70,000km and 36 months): + Super long-haul vehicle + Comfortable seats + Variable interior + Low noise level in the interior + 2.5T engine (despite consumption) + Genuine family vehicle + Space (as opposed to Touareg & Co) + This forum – Consumption – Xenon light with poor light output – Crunching and crackling of the sliding roof – Rappling of the belt suspension – Rosing wheel nuts – Crash noise from the r Steering column – Defective wheel bearings – Scheppering wheel suspension front Since the “-” points are all flaws that appear here again and again in the forum, I really wonder why Volvo can’t finally put these things off All in all a super vehicle. The separation we find difficult…(Sniff..) Gruss Nusso

  • Is there a limosine for 5 people?

Hello! I’m currently driving an XC90 D5 and since the new S80 has come on the market I’m looking forward to it. Since I have 3 children at the age of 4-6-8 I need of course proper space on the back bench. Since I would like to drive a limosine again I thought I’d look at the new S80, but when looking at it more closely I quickly realized that for the legs on the middle place on the back bench is simply not a place. the question – are there actually sodas (also other manufacturers) in which 5 people have pleasant space? Thanks Michael
