  • Spare parts for Volvo V70 – Built 1999 in Russia

Hello, I would like to make a longer trip to Russia with a robust and good car – three-four months over Turkey through Russia. First I thought of Mercedes W124 combi diesel. But they are reddish or expensive (5000+x). Since I have not yet arrived in the screwdriver sky I am looking for a car that takes me to China and so around 2000-3000 euros. It should be a station wagon. A friend swears on Volvo. The questions: How does the spare parts situation in Russia look like for old Volvos (Bf 1999 od Is someone familiar? Which model would you recommend – I want to sleep in it. Thank you very much for your help. Greeting Jan

  • Too warm cooling water in the traffic jam

Hej. A friend of mine just had a problem with his V70-combi (99 year, B5252S). I made him the timing belt with water pump 1 week ago, a service incl. plugs, as well as the sensor in the balancing tank (including exchange of the cooling water). Now he went on a big journey from Sweden to Germany and suddenly got a hot engine on the last meters in the traffic jam. As long as he drove, it was probably OK. In the traffic jam without wind it was then too hot and d It doesn’t seem to have started either, or only against jerking at the relay over the luefter. A yellow angel has already helped him, but in the next traffic jam it was right back. When he breaks the relay, everything works. Have I already had the thermostat tested (“Are both hoses hot from the Kuehler?”, but I still have no answer from him. I am thinking of a temperature fan or an interruption in the luefter control… Does he only have the one at the thermosta thäuse? Then he can pull it off and see if the Luefter starts. Up here in the country he never had the problem, because there is practically no traffic jam here :/ More ideas? From 900km distance I can help him on the phone unfortunately only partially

  • Purchase advice used V70 – what do you pay attention to?

Hi! I hope there are some Volvo connoisseurs here who want to help me 🙂 I would like to buy a used station wagon and have now targeted a Volvo V70 alongside a Ford Mondeo or Opel Vectra Caravan. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about cars and Volvo only from hearsays that it should be durable, robust, safe and confortable. Of course, these are all the characteristics that I value. The car should, if possible, hold on to the 10 years. It must be a gasoline tanker because I drive a lot of short distance (work path 5km per track!) – but not only. Features like seat heating, cruise control, air conditioning, sliding roof … would be NICE-2-HAVE. As motorization would suffice me 140hp – I think the 200hp-bolde is too expensive in the insurance! Is there anything else in between? I prefer switches, because less consumption and a possible construction site less. I am looking in the north German area, postcode area 22926, 100km radius. Of course I would like one of the Hän dler buy for warranty and guarantee. But if a privately offered with comprehensible history and reasonable price is also no problem. My questions first of all: what should I pay attention to? I have an ad here and am interested in what you think of it:http://suche.mobile.de/…/189067345.html?… So much for the first time … nice greetings Robert 🙂

  • Purchase advice Volvo V70 or 850

Moin moin, I’m completely new here and I haven’t had my own car yet despite 14 years of driving licences. Now I need one and have looked around a bit and I got stuck with the Volvo Kombis Bj 1995-1999, of which I would like to buy one for up to 2000€. My location is in Lübeck, in S-H. At the moment I have two to choose from: Volvo 850 2.5 litershttps://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/…/910719175-216-422 This was driven by the previous owners for 17 years, has only 2 previous owners in total. The car has no air conditioning, which is not really relevant to me. The timing belt would still have to be made, the dealer would take approx. 230€. Otherwise I will try it later and then look on. The other car is one: Volvo V70 2.5 liters?https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/…/911298150-216-16624 With year 1999 a little fresher and less km, with air conditioning, full leather equipment, seat heating… And the timing belt was straightened e replaced. According to the owner, only the air conditioning would have to be refilled. All-weather tires he has maintained up to 180000km checkbook 2 previous owners What do you think about the two cars? Does it still make sense to upgrade to natural gas at this age?

  • Exhaust D5 Sport “Atrappe”

Hello Has anyone noticed that in the “sport” the tails are only flanged ? has someone ever had an offer from Heico given for exchange ?

  • XC 90 Polestar

Hello, someone already has experiences regarding the new Polestar upgrade for the XC 90? I would be very interested in how the plus of 20 hp is noticeable. In particular, it would be interesting to know how the top speed changes. What about the diesel consumption? I would be very happy about a quick answer.

  • Nasser footroom passenger after washing machine visit

Hello together, after I had constantly foggy windows in the interior in winter and then eventually discovered that it was because the footroom on the passenger side was quite wet, I dryed it and then everything remained dry. I had pushed it on wet shoes or snow at that time. A few weeks ago I was in the washing machine and when the interior was sucked out I found that the footroom was wet again. So again dried and good. e then before the washing machine visit extra check whether the footroom is dry. It was. After the passage it was then quite wet again. So it comes clearly from outside and has nothing to do with air conditioning or cooling water loss. On the one hand, the area at the side (i.e. door) under the glove compartment becomes wet, on the other hand the left part of the floor, exactly in the crease to the top. The rest remains dry. Can someone give me a hot tip what I can do? I guess It’s hard that any water drains are clogged. Only, where exactly do I find them and can I do it myself or rather have a workshop done? Incidentally, is an XC90 without a sunroof! Thank you!! Greeting Bergdoc

  • The Dickelch is here

On Friday I was rewarded for my waiting and was able to receive my Dickelch: – XC90 summum with manual transmission – Outside: electric-silver-metallic – Inside: Sovereign soft leather, anthracite – Extras: Navi, telephone fixed installation. After the first 500km I am thrilled. Even though I had to get used to the “swinging” of the cab, which was clearly opposite the V70, I feel very comfortable now. The car is full on the road and in the curves despite the higher centrifugal forces better than the V70. The appearance and feel of the interior are great, the equipment has increased in quality (the predecessor was BJ2004). The new technical features such as the dynamic curve light and the MP3-capable sound system make life pleasant. Interfering at the moment only: a lower dynamic (was not to be expected otherwise due to the mass) and the strongly increased consumption of 10l instead of 7l, I hope that still optimizations are possible here. Conclusion: I am happy about the car and enjoy every kilometer! Follow pictures! Sven

  • HU-613 buys – but is a US radio – does that fit?

I made a quick shot in Ebay and bought a HU-613. Thought about 45 euros is that fully OK. But I found out now that the part might not work with us radio reception technology – or can it “only” no RDS and traffic radio? Found something under radio table, but also not quite clever from it! Someone idea or an idea? Thanks – Peter
