  • Temperature sensor new XC60

I have bought a new XC60 D4 VEA and am very satisfied with it. However, the outside temperature indicator is a bit strange: If the car is only in the sun for a short time, the indicator shows far too high values (sometimes over 10 degrees too much). The values are not significantly more precise even during the journey. At least in urban traffic the indicator deviates permanently and significantly from the actual temperature. Without solar radiation the indicator seems to work correctly. It’s clear that the body heats up when the car is in the sun, but I don’t know such strong deviations from my previous cars. At least the display normalized a few minutes after the start of the journey also in stop-and-go traffic in the city. At the XC60, on the other hand, the display increases by a further 1-2 degrees after the start of the journey. What are your experiences?

  • Michelin Alpin 7

Due to the age after almost 10 years I am superior to getting new winter tires. The old Piirellis still have almost 6mm profile but just 10 Jahe old.The Michelin Alpin 7 came into the short choice. But now comes on the side of Michelin the hint because of the speed index. Original are indeed 235/60 R18 103V mounted. The new would have 235/60 R18 107 H. Do you do something wrong with the Michelin 7? Would that be allowed and legally compliant?

  • 850 2.5 20V Automatic air conditioning

Hi, after poor performance I wanted to have the climate (2 zones automatic) replenished at ATU, which told me that the pressure was too high (which was right) then to the Bosch service which I did not have my vehicle in 8 weeks (part problems, delivery) my climate “repaired, it was (expansion valve, dryer, capacitor, as well as the line with valve from the capacitor and compressor renewed) but was taught by ATU the system completely and the errors went off (Kl ima does what she wants, mainly only slices or foot nozzles, which is still so now, but it is all possible new ) my question would be: does this climate have a kind of emergency run so that it does not unlock because the old faults are still in the system, or is now still the control part too. PS. Sorry C-: but is it normal that a 1995 850 20 V 9101 488 has a collection pot dumpster without flex tube “Fehderbolzen Verbund” was stolen to me at the beginning of the year the cat, therefore new exhaust system In the case of the 2.5 ern, this has been changed to flex tube due to problems with tightness in the MOPF and only the 10 V of the same system.

  • Engine control light V70 2.4 – Cause research – throttle valve, LMM, what else?

Hello, I’m a bit perplexed, which is the reason that the engine warning light of my V70-1 with B5244S2 engine (EZ 1999, model year 2000) lights up again and again. The funny thing is that the driving behaviour is normal, the idle speed around 850U/min and nothing else really disturbing. I can read the following errors: P0171 and P1672. When I delete the error memory, the indicator light is again for a time. p1672 is described quite cryptically as “5 volt output low”. There is also no “one driving situation at which it is concerned again. Since the throttle valve was already overtaken by ecu.com in 2017, I exclude it. I suspected the LMM, but with a test of 850-2250 revolutions as graph it does not deliver any funny rashes, but increases quite linearly. However: At idle at 850 revolutions, according to the diagnostic device, only a flow rate of 2.45g/s – which would be less than 9kg/h. I mean to have read that it is 14kg/h s My next points would be: Swap the throttle flap seal in order to eliminate false air at the place and clean the solenoid valve for camshaft control and install it again with a new seal. Both can certainly not hurt, but feels like fishing in the pit because it is more likely to help. Has someone perhaps had something similar and a tip for me before I exchange pieces indiscriminately?

  • V50 2.0 D – Tyre pressure at Michelin Energy Saver???

Hello! So I’ve been writhing online for hours now and read all kinds of forums. I’m not going to be really smart about the right tyre pressure. Recently we bought new tyres (Energy Saver), the friendly guy has put all around 2.5 bar on it. That didn’t seem right to me then, should be far less pressure on the tyres according to the manufacturer. Now I’m already trying back and forth (at the moment 2.4 h; 2.6 v), but the support surface of the tire I want to say that the rear tire has a narrower “abrage” than the one in the front. The support surface is, so to speak, smaller. What pressure are you driving like this? Should I go down the back further? I don’t want to be right on the given 2.1, doesn’t it? Info: Everything is there with us, from hardly loaded with one person to more loaded and 2 people. Also from time to time motorway and speed 180. THANK YOU!

  • What does Can Bus mean?

Hello her very long and many kilometers there were relatively few problems with our V50…because a glow plug relay or just the defective ignition module at that time, but otherwise everything was ok with our little moose. Now it is probably quite thick… last week the windows on the left side did not go down anymore and the Zetral lock did not want to lock the left side. After I started the car a few hours later, the spook was over for the time being. I went to the workshop and had an appointment for today. The error no longer occurred. Now the error memory was read out and what came, makes me pale. Shown is CAN-H, low-speed network, no signal and CAN-H high-speed network, no signal and communication with door control unit no signal. I have been in a free workshop for a long time and have no problems there, but here said I have to go to Volvo for that, but let me know what the fun costs before. Our car has 245,000 on the speedometer and is from October 2004. Does anyone know what comes to us and is worth it at all? Renewed is a lot of the car and it is really good in the shot… I hope someone can give me some advice… Dear Greetings Claudia

  • 19s on the v50? no theme!

Servas zammen! In the Volvopower.de group on Facebook I introduced my little “remodeling” already a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately (..or not ) he arrived very well with many people. However, my mailbox runs with questions only like this since then, so I now also make a thread here, which everyone can then read themselves, without having to write the same thing to everyone 5000 times. It’s actually only about that, that I have to write for my v50. a set of 19 inch rims and of which posted a picture into the group. Then several people got in touch with me which probably absolutely could not imagine how I got them registered. .. Well, was actually quite simple. The only thing I did was: -The fender inside turned around, or simply cut away and made hot with a hair dryer and pressed flat and dragged the fenders a little bit outward by hand. (wherewith one pulled them a little bit outwards.) I didn’t know what was going on, but let it go before the paint bursts away) The rims have the dimensions 8.5 x ET45 x 19(with a 225/35 tyres) and also fit without track plates or other stuff problemlessly on the car insofar as you have processed the mudguards a little bit. My TÜV customer had absolutely nothing to worry about and after 15min smalltalk again abzi PS: the car is also 30mm lower and it still fits without problems! As far as driving comfort is concerned: Well…I’m used to “lower, harder wider” for a long time and therefore it wasn’t a big change for me from 18 to 19 inches for the first time. You’re not really limited now. You can still use the car 100% as a holiday or family car. You just have to be a little more careful than before. Corners hammering up a curb is no longer, unless you don’t care what the rim looks like. On the whole, you can simply say: The only thing that restricts you is that you have to be extremely careful in the parking garage and in the curbs as you move away, otherwise the beautiful new rim can quickly look ugly. I hope I could help a couple of people with it.

  • Engine power is reduced.

Hello Volvofreunde War before yesterday on the highway about 120 km/h after about 7 km. I noticed a slight jerking, shortly afterwards came an error message that the engine power was reduced. Drive to the parking lot to check (nothing sees Marder etz.) New started and he ran again. Yesterday the same game to Ikea Ulm about 56 km, after 13 km the same message, off, and he ran to the finish without any problems. Car fully loaded and in the afternoon back, so now he stayed every 5 km on d He was standing in the pouring rain, then I returned from time to time, error was gone again. Only a slight restless jerk could be felt. Error messages were then given also several, once the power reduction, then motor system maintenance perform, and the engine block on the display was displayed. This morning times all plug contacts checked and made a test drive, performance guesses times as always, the consumption also, ( drive I always got it between 7,3 – 8,5 liters ) It is a n V70 II Bj 2000 Mod. 2001, 2,4 t, with 200 hp, Km stood now 147 tsd. My biggest worry is our Volvo dealer who takes to read 110 € and wanted to actually have 140 € for working time to change the fan engine. I made 2 clamps for the turbo intake hose were 2 screws on top of the fan and then he is only pulled out, said and written 10 minutes for the layman. Who can give me a tip which workshop could make me that room Ulm Kempten. I don’t say who I mean now. And where you could start with the error – search. Found already an entry with the same symptom but didn’t find the reason for it. Greetings and thank you in advance

  • Yesterday on the way home

good tomorrow, imagine, after about 20km a light, beating noise from the front axle. with each kilometer increasing. I thought first a plate, right turn, got out, and.. nothing. it got worse and worse, thought the drives fly right around my ears, to the friendly and.. the left front wheel was completely loose, all the wheel screws were just before the fall off. now I ask you, do you lose the wheel bolts on your own? the last “wheel change” is loosely 5 00km back! is this really happening on its own? maybe the professionals here have already had experiences with it? thanks for your tips!

  • Tinted rear lights

Hello everyone!! I’m a new access here from today! And I have a question for everyone! I’ve been looking for black tail lights for my Volvo S80 for a long time, of course, including ABE. I don’t want to dismantle my lights (if the green ones stop me)! I’ve already seen that they are available for the S60 at MR but as always nothing for the big one. Maybe someone knows where I can get something like that!! I’m looking for a discreet Hec kspoiler or at least ne Spoilerlippe! I had already seen a lip at ebay which is glued on the edge of the trunk lid but the effect is equal to zero!! Such a pillefit I stick on it!! Greeting Black
