  • Tyres or wheel bearings

Servus with each other, My S40 (II, 2007, 124,000km) is getting louder and louder when driving. Is such a roll-off noise of the tires, comes rather from the front. Somehow the noise is always there, but I think a little depending on the outside temperature and the speed. At 50/60 km/h it is zbsp relatively loud and I have the feeling that the car is somehow “raw” on the road surface, the chassis may even be very little vibrating (but can also be imaginable). On the AB also this roll-off noise (monoton, almost like in the train), steering wheel calm. The tires are Pirelli Cinturato P7, at the front they are relatively far down, about 1.5 to 2mm in front of the brand. No big saw teeth visible. At the back the tires have much more profile, but visible saw teeth. Why the profile depths are different I don’t know, ride the car only since February or 20,000 km. The question is now the tires or the wheel bearings? How can I recognize this by simple means? If I just have to get the tires and I don’t have a good time, I have the tyre.

  • Current experience with LPG

Hello, has someone ever had a V40 2.0T with 118KW upgraded to LPG? Does something have to be taken into account or are there recommendations, which gas system can be taken or better not? How are the experiences with the elks with LPG? My brother had a motor damage twice after the LPG conversion with his Vectra C with 2.2Ltr. engine. According to Opel-Werkstatt it was the LPG. Since he drove without LPG, the third engine runs perfectly. About helpful answers I would be happy. VG, Sebastian

  • Trailer control lamp

Hello, a new one and a problem right away… Short introduction, I’m Robert and I’m from SH. I bought a Volvo 850 a short time ago. Built 1997 I was at the Tüv last week and I raced through, because the indicator lamp for the trailer turn signals does not function. First idea: Control lamp broken. So the (and all the other broken in the instrument cluster immediately with) renewed. Unfortunately, no. N other light bulb control kit I tried out. Also not. Then I measured by the plugs of the instrument cluster: There is only 2 times a flash signal. Left and right. The E-set has an 8-pin suspension box. Does anyone have an idea? I no longer have the warning blink switch. But before I go to the scrap site I would like to ask you again.

  • Motor organs after use of throttle spray

Servous Gemeinde, I wanted to clear the suction area with my V70 Bi-Fuel EZ. 2000 times. I also got it! New filter and the dirt from the throttle valve sprayed away with son throttle valve cleaner from ATU. Since I did that, when switching to gas (serial installation of Volvo) does the speed increase. What I also very positive one step. The negative and why I ask for advice is that I have to switch the motor organs after longer. Before that he always jumped on top of it! Grrmpf I suspect that he has no fuel in the line or can this also lie on the throttle valve? Maybe this is just a vacuum hose….? Hmmh Thanks in the Vorraus L.G. Rudi

  • Seriously + reward: Who will find the missing 50 HP?

Prehistory see this thread. Conclusion up to now: None of the x commissioned workshops can help me, I don’t know for a long time any more, so I’m starting a last attempt: I hereby offer a binding 500 € (five hundred Euro) for those who find out clearly and demonstrably why my engine 36 is missing from its normal 93 kW power. Clearly and demonstrably means either that a subsequent repair (of course separately paid by me) definitely solves the problem OR that the cause of the error, if I don’t have to be repaired for reasons of economic efficiency, is explained and documented. The power loss of 36 kW is proven by a recorded performance measurement on an ADAC test bench. Anyone who wants to participate can pick up my vehicle at any time (except between KW 32 and 34) here in Rostock and get a week time. If he finds nothing, I don’t pay anything. If I order a repair on the basis of a suspected cause, but if I don’t want to participate, I can pay anything. Picking up and returning my vehicle must be at his own expense. As a help, I’m sure, if I want to report a better list.

  • How much liters of oil come into the V50 1.6 gasoline?

Hello, I just had the V50 1.6 gasoline 101 hp year 07/2005 when changing oil. Before I had traded down the Volvo dealer, because 25 EUR / liter for an oil which costs me online about 10. EUR was a bit much to me. I was surprised then that the Castrol 0w-30 SLX only 4 liters were filled. So it is also in the instruction, however, during the last inspections more has been tipped in. In the service booklet it is true that a new car gets at first more oil – however, the oil quantity of 5.2 liters over 4.8 liters has been reduced to now 4 liters. The car has now 43,000 km and today its total 4th oil change. Normally you only need every 20,000 km – but rather an oil change too much than too little 🙂 Is this reduction normal? I wanted to look at the oil rod – but was too dark. Thanks & Gruss E.

  • When does something have to be done?

Hello, there is always something about the moose (my is n V40 2.0 T) to be replaced or renewed….and so slowly I completely lose the overview and am not sure when something has to be done. And I would be very grateful about this small list that I can add to the repair calculations in my folder so that I don’t forget anything and am on the running. Oil change: 1 x a year or every 15,000 KM spark plugs: 40,000 KM air filter/inner room filter: 1 x a year Timing belt: every 7 years or 80.000 KM brake fluid: ? Cooler frost protection: ? Air conditioning maintenance: every 2 years Would be great if one or another could still tell me what I forgot or could correct if I was wrong.

  • increased consumption and engine load other than normal

Hello experts at my v50 D5 the consumption from 7.44 to 10.5 is fastened. I determined that after the tank was pumped empty, because I had fuelled petrol instead of diesel. Furthermore, the engine load is higher in the emptyfauf than before: from 15 to over 40 to 55. Even if I stand and switch down the selector lever from D to N to P, the engine load indicator changes from 55 to 45 to 40!!! Emotionally I mean that the car doesn’t pull so correctly anymore, yesterday on the highway I had trouble reaching 200, which went better before. What is broken? Furthermore, the engine before pumping out ran more restlessly than then then then?!!! What is defined as engine load? Which measured values determine it? Can someone tell me what to do? What is to do? Also pay attention to the pictures in the annex. Grusss

  • Your assessment of the legal situation? Shell’s tire pilot screwed up tires

Hello together, I just wanted to knock off your assessment of the legal situation with this thread and get some tips if necessary. On weekends I used a nail in one of my just 4000 km and 2 months old summer tires (running area, about 2 cm away from the edge). I then bought in a Shell petrol station their version of the tire pilot (Shell house stamp) and on Monday according to the application instructions applied. Now I drive this morning to the tire fuzzi to have the hole professionally patched, then it is told that this stuff makes the tire unusable and it does not let itself be patched any more. But now on the can of Shell word is written: “… At the nearest petrol station stop and the tire pump up with the correct pressure. Tires as soon as possible can be repaired…” From “tire afterwards unsusable” or “tire must be replaced” is nowhere to be spoken of. Following the product description I have already heard that the tire can be patched. Pustekuchen. Since I can’t buy a new tire exactly before I have to replace the replacement of shell without having to have the tires.

  • Support load AHK bicycle carrier XC90 T8

Hello together, Have the XC90 T8 MJ2019 with the semi-electric AHK and since the WE a Thule bicycle carrier. The trough allows 60kg load (3 wheels) and weighs even 23kg. According to the vehicle license and manual, the maximum support load of my car is 110kg. In the rear part of the manual, however, the bicycle carrier is described that only a maximum support load is allowed if a bicycle carrier is used. Question: why should the maximum support load be lower when using a bicycle carrier than the one indicated in the vehicle license (= 110kg)? If I put a correct trailer on it then the 110kg support load is allowed again. With full 60kg bicycle load and 23kg self weight of the bicycle carrier, I would be in total already at 83kg, i.e. over the 75kg shown in the manual for bicycle carrier operation. However, the 83kg are still far away from the 110kg allowed in the vehicle license. What (reasonable) reasons should there be that Volvo limits the support load to 75kg here?
