  • Switch auxiliary belt ???

Hello reader, my next maintenance is for my XC 60. Offer is caught up and sounds good, except for two lines that I didn’t understand and two Volvo dealers make different statements.Shortly to our car. Volvo XC 60 D5 Year of construction 2012 It is due the 4 inspection and the car has 67000km down. Driving performance about 15000km/year since will own the car. Volvo dealer 1 : Who performs the inspection, has indicated that the above-mentioned belts are changed should. According to Volvo every 3 years or after 90,000km and would like to do this now (in the 4th inspection/in 4 years) Volvo dealer 2 (where I bought the car) : Statement… According to the workshop manager, belts have to be changed after 90,000km, but can happen earlier on customer request. There is no instruction to replace the belt every 3 years. If I drive about 15000km a year, it is enough to renew the belt again the next year. Can you help me further? Makes sense to change the straps now already ? Cost point would be about 120,00€. Is not the world, but you don’t have to throw out the money. Greetings and thanks !

  • Shock absorber for C70 2000

Hello, would like to ask your opinions, experiences and recommendations, which shock absorbers to take. – I used the car in 95% alone on country road / inside – have 17′ Canisto rims with tire dimension 225/45R17, which should also not be bigger – do not want to lower – do not want to change the shock absorbers in all 2 years Have also looked around at PolarParts and found there a set (4 pcs) against 110,- €. So far I had with the company only positive experience But the 110,- € gü a set of Sachs with about 400,- € “too cheap”. Can I take that? Thank you for your answers and further recommendations already in advance! MfG: Balázs

  • XC60 D5 Charging without cause?

Hello. Maybe someone has a piece of advice… Under load is a clear air-smelling, whose cause I just can’t find… Before long Zeir I exchanged already 2 different charge air hoses, each by light but clear oil release. This time absolutely nothing is recognizable. I degreased the complete charge air area and sprayed it with white special spray. Despite long mountain ride with long loader use was optically not the small to recognize…no trace of black engine oil… Is it possible that excess charging pressure is simply released consciously into the environment? Where could the noise arise? The engine is powerless inconspicuous… Thank you for tips. Erich

  • Electric parking brake generates error message since battery disconnected

Hello to each other, last year I completely renewed my brakes at the rear, because the brake piston was hanging on one side. I installed completely new brake calipers, so all parts of the electric parking brake were also renewed. Now I wanted to pull the fuse of the parking heater last week to learn the remote control. Unfortunately it was not possible to access the fuses with tools, because the fuse box is nested and I can not get the upper fuses out. The manual also only reveals where the fuses are sitting but not how to get there. At such moments I really wish my V70 II (the last car developed by Volvo) back, because half of the components that come from Ford were of poor quality. Anyway, I just stuck off the battery and was able to easily learn the heater remote control. I only stuck off the battery for about 5 seconds, so that both the time and time of the car can be used. Since then I have had the problem that the electric parking brake should be maintained again and again. Sometimes the symbol of the parking brake flashes and goes away only after a new engine start. I have to say that I use the brake only very rarely, because I drive the automatic and “P” completely sufficient. The mentioned messages are therefore not related to the use of the parking brake. . The brake itself works perfectly, I tested it many times and also started different programs with VIDA, all without any problems. Once again, the battery has not improved. When reading out, I only got the error message that the electric motors were left and right not contactable. That it really is due to the motors is unlikely, since both are affected. I would guess that the ECU somehow It was only since then that the fault occurred and it was also very sporadic and usually disappeared again after a few seconds. Maybe someone had the problem before or has a tip what I can still do? Terminal again with the battery and run the programs in Vida as well as press the parking brake I did everything I could think of in terms of possibilities.

  • XC60 2.0D: Duration of rear lights on when locking the vehicle adjustable?

Hello, maybe someone can help me here. I am currently driving an XC60 D3 with manual transmission as a rental vehicle for several days, with just 5,000km – whether this now EZ 2016 or EZ 2017 – so far relevant at all – I can not say. I noticed that (only!) the tail lights after closing the vehicle for a few minutes, so definitely > 90 seconds – felt rather 3-5 minutes, light up. I have already struggled through the settings and the user manual, Since I would prefer a reasonable coming/leaving function (30 or 60 seconds) but did not get smarter or with the adjustment options clear. My guess that it could have something to do with the way lighting did not cause me either. Via “My Car” – “Vehicle Settings” – “Light Settings” I can not change the options “Autom. Lighting” and “Permanent way lighting” and is set to 30 sec. (at least displayed). What else could I check? The switch for the lighting is set to “car”. When the lights are unlocked/unlocked, the flashers flash and, in my opinion, the “standlight” lighting is on. When the lights are locked, the “standlight” lighting goes out after a felt 30 seconds, but the rear lights continue to shine. The 3rd brake light does not shine along. For me, this is not a lack, but my neighbor seems to be bothering – he m Pay attention to this, as I parked my car in the direction of his living room. Nevertheless, the cause/solution would be interesting for me. I actually felt familiar with the Volvo operating concept; however, for 2 years I had no more than a mobile base. Thanks for feedback!

  • Expand and lubricate tailgate dampers without danger?

  • Winter tyres

  • S80/V70/XC70, small note on close order

Just as a tip: if you want to order a V70/S80/XC70, you shouldn’t wait too long with it. There’s no official message yet, but now the “sparrows from the roofs” are whistled: the official new orderability of the V70/S80/XC70 will probably end at the end of January 2016. The car will be built (due to the hallway-quieting by the end of April 2016 at the latest), but rather as a “storage wagon”, i.e. you install the parts you still have. The S90/V90 w It won’t take as long as with the XC90. Not that the same thing happens here, as with potential T6 AWD candidates, whom one has advised in March, to wait…. Can anyone remember the seller who spread it? I would like to write it down and ask where the -in his opinion – announced special model remains.

  • Do you have Xenon Brenneer?

Just read in a Threat that the Xenon burners should be “sleep” and changed. With my moose Xenon are also included, MJ 2010 180 tkm. With my previous vehicles I had H3, HA, H7 bulbs installed and always carried in the vehicle spare bulbs, because it “only” the condition lights up or was broken. To this end my questions: Does a failure occur at Xenon? Is it worthwhile for each case to get the light centerkl beforehand and carry it along, since even with Ebay the Ver is one of you carrying the parts with you or is one waiting up to the Exitus? What “permanence” light duration etc, can one expect from the parts? Wolf_o

  • Speed swings, clacks on the clutch – ZMS defective?

Hello together, after a very long time of completely problem-free mileage eating my moose (with now 9 years and 180,000 km on the hump) has unfortunately developed over the last months several smaller problems, which feel in total unhealthy – what do you think of these symptoms as the cause of error? Meanwhile I have been seriously worried about this now at the free workshop of my trust and wanted to demonstrate it on a test drive, a about of course the demonstration effect hit and my moose behaved perfectly well and properly. However, according to my description the master typed on the two-mass swing wheel. What do you think? Should it actually be the ZMS and/or the clutch, it probably is advisable if the car is already disassembled to change both at once anyway, right? With the working time costs then it almost does not matter, and it should be with the vehicle age and the Running performance anyway be just a matter of time until each other’s component goes hops. Greetings Matt
