Hello together, since about 1 week my infotainment in the Volvo from time to time passed the function. Hot lighting and e.g. radio worked but you could not set anything more, operated. After about 2 days everything was dark, like if there is no power on it, the steering wheel operation, e.g. for Navi also does not work. Today the lighting again burns but otherwise nothing comes on the display. Also an operation is not possible. fuses exchanged, they were, it is not. i Volvo to ask if the problem is known to remedy it. Statement no, you have to go to troubleshooting. I’d like to look at it myself first, someone has a tip for me. A guide on what I need to expand where to check. Would be great.

New exhaust system from KAT
Hello all, I bought my 850 Limo (MJ96) 20V 125 kW just a month ago with a two-part stainless steel sports exhaust system, which was already installed by the pre-owner. In the stand all sounds quite funny, but in operation the part is unfortunately clearly too loud. Especially in the range 2200 to 3200 U/min the thing roars like stupid in the interior, so highway rides at straightening speed are not really great. Unfortunately, I don’t know which system it is. Whoever installed this, did a great job at least optically and in terms of welding technology – but what helps. In appearance, the thing doesn’t stand and an e-tester (or similar) on the parts I didn’t find either. One more reason to make an exchange here. Now the question is: I probably switch to the original exhaust from Volvo, right? Can I just buy a good used one here? I also didn’t really find out if it was a good one. Volvo’s original 1-piece system is different in Turbo / Without Turbo and Limo / Combi? Is there a simple tip what to look for or how to identify a real exhaust? Thank you in advance!

Restocking the catalyst – Info Thread
Hello dear community, in recent times the complaints have piled up that the catalysts for retrofitting do not even get at the original quality. Be it from Volvo original or from a third party, the Kats roar and in the end it only annoys one. The solution: to keep the old Kats, because they have a larger wall thickness and thus act as a pre-war for the sound. But what if the old Kat gives up the mind so slowly? The times come, there will also be the Kats needed to be mostly finished. I have the case with my 850 now that the catalyst started to rattle when you knock against it. I already put a good cat on a dump a year ago, which is now installed along with the new Lambda probe. But what do I do with the old one? Throwing away is not possible. I have rather the following thought: is it possible to have the catalysts refitted? So yes, that is possible. But how long does that last? has anyone ever had experience? Especially at the p80? I’ve always had to upgrade the fans for the trunk. Today this was implemented: 2 120mm fans (there are lots on eBay & co), the matching metal grilles. For 350€ I was too bad to buy original parts http://www.online-teile.com/…/product_info.php?… The fan for the passenger side fit Plug & Play there are 2 rubber parts that then hold the fan. On the driver side it looks as if these parts have been removed from me for this purpose. Power connection: I simply stole electricity from the rear window heater directly from the connector for the tailgate above the left speaker from the D-pillar at Pos 1 is +, pos 14 is mass. Exhaust gas odour when driving with open window
Hello together, I am faced with a mystery with my moose: When driving with an open window, it smells strongly of exhaust gas in the interior (especially on the back seat where the children are sitting, not at all good…). Two different workshops did a diagnosis and both tested the tightness of the exhaust system by flue gas, with the result: “Absolutely dense.” ????? In fact, Krummer/Flextube are only three years old and muffler/main pipe from last year. The cat is still “old” (from the previous owner). The power is OK (I am used to my elk in spite of its 126hp to 1400kg rather sluggishly), but the oil consumption for my feeling is quite high (about 1L on 2000km). In the error memory (Blink-OBD) is nothing. Curious is also that the smell really only occurs when the window is open. The ventilation always smells pleasantly neutral, therefore the topic was not a problem again in winter. Buy decision-making aid or not?

I would like to make a short time..have after a few phone calls with the seller now Saturday viewing date. At the first phone call and on demand for accident car, I was told that the car had a tear damage from the neighboring fence. On push there were now today the invoice and pictures of the damage.(shock) Exchanged parts: front door(VR) + Back door(HR) and side part (HR) but everything with Volvo. Uff…9300€ Damage doesn’t sound like fence, does it? I’m just not sure what to do, actually everything is done by Volvo and the mileage etc. is also ok. Well, would you still buy such a car for the money?? Please look at the pictures.

Turbocharger 1999 S80 T6 Switch inside ?
Hello, I have a problem with one of my turbos in my S80 T6. I consume about half a liter of oil on 1000 km and the way it looks it goes through the left (if you are standing in front of the hood open) turbo, as all the pipes behind this turbo are oiled from the inside. The question is how bad is it and how likely will it get worse within about 15000 km ? I will sell the car in April (have bought it here in the USA to get to university with it) u And doesn’t necessarily want to have to plug in a new turbocharger ! A workshop where I am always meant to change oil, that one could possibly change the inside of the turbo or only the seals that seal the rotor ? Anyway he knows that it is possible with Saab, he could not tell me from Volvo … Google I also asked properly .. but I found nothing really … Do you have a suggestion or an idea how you would handle it ? Can you change something ? I’ve been driving for 1500 miles now and nothing happened.. I don’t want to stay somewhere with a shot-in-the-mill turbo on the other side either.. Residual heat for XC 90 D5
Hello colleagues! When I was waiting for my wife for a good quarter of an hour at minus 3 degrees, I thought of the chic residual heat usage that our elks offer…My SH is activated and funnels perfectly, but the residual heat option is not Lt elchwiki for the D5 with 185 hp, but it doesn’t stand for diesel or gasoline; and the Volvo accessory list doesn’t exist either. Does that mean that in similar starting situations, I have to say that I am not looking for diesel or petrol. I don’t think it’s reasonable to put a down blanket in the trunk…because I don’t think it’s acceptable to run the engine. lG Richard

Questions about the new moose (V70 / P26 / 170 Tkm)
Since yesterday we have a V70 (P26 – 10/2000) next to our 745 (B230F/360 TKm). The following points would interest me: 1. Sums after opening the driver’s door If you open the driver’s door (other doors I haven’t tested yet) without doing anything else, then you hear from the center console a quiet suming (similar to a fan). The suming ends after approx. 45 sec. after hearing a clapping (relais). Is the suming normal? For what is this? 2. Alarm system I The Al I tested the arm system yesterday after the description in the operating manual. It works in such a way that e.g. after pocket claw from the closed car the turn signals and the LED on the dashboard light up in a short interval. However, I miss a siren (as it is indicated in the operating manual). On an older order (05/2009) I saw a note “alarm system releases temporarily without reason” 3. Alarm system II seller had at the test drive Pro bleme when starting the Volvo, which has been logged off for 4 weeks. However, he had a new battery installed at Volvo in January/February (note on the bill: “Battery variant installed on customer request” – 520A 100min). After yesterday I made some attempts with the remote control and the electr. functions like FH, electr. ASP, suddenly the 2 FB no longer went. Only via the key lockable / unlockable. I then charged the battery and then the FB went again. Overnight the alarm system was active and this afternoon the FB did not go again. Battery voltage 12.6 volts Does anyone have an idea?
