  • Multi-instrument exchange (mph -> kmh)

    Hello together Unfortunately, the search function could not help me this time. So here’s my first post, or my first question: I recently imported a T5-R from England. This has a mph cluster instrument installed, which I would like to replace with a kmh instrument. As soon as I connect the kmh instrument, the speed indicator does not work. Moreover, the flashing of the correct mileage does not work either. Now I have two questions: 1) Does something have to be reprogrammed to make the 850er think again in km/h? 2) Is the mileage in the control unit of the car, or in the instrument cluster? Would it be stupid if I just read out the mileage from the combination unit. Thank you very much for your help.

  • Volvo V70 XC 2.4 Turbo – Engine jerks – Error codes…

    Hello, I’ve already been looking “passive” for the problem and also found clues to solutions. My problem (Volvo V70 XC 2.4 Turbo 193 ps, BJ 2000, KM 162.000): Engine light burns, engine jerks when accelerating, especially from approx. 2000 rpm. It does not bring full power I have exchanged: – TCV – spark plugs (against original Volvo) – petrol pressure sensor After swap TCV it was gone – Turbo has also “pitched”. Since the engine light still burned, I once stuck off battery overnight I switched spark plugs and petrol pressure sensor. No change. Now I was reading out at Volvo error. A lot came out: – ECM-2810 Front heated Lambda probe group 1 – signal too low – ECM-2A0A Rear heated Lambda probe group 1 – signal too low – ECM-2A2A Rear heated Lambda probe group 1 – signal too low – ECM- 4000 Activated carbon filter valve – signal too low – ECM 6800 Turbocharger control valve – signal to ni edrig (actually already exchanged?) – ECM 9300 Clutch pedal positioner – Incorrect signal (tempomat does not work – therefore probably) My question – before I go into the long search: Does anyone know if the fault codes Lambda/Active carbon filter flush valve/turbo loader control valve can be connected, i.e. the cable strands together or on a fuse? It is strange that the TCV has been changed but should already be defective again. Thanks for your help e! Greetings Peter

  • Turning circle too large – are there thinner steering stop limiters?

    Hello, I installed on my 99th TDI 2 years ago the full impact limiters, which are in the part program for my SMI steering gear. I think the plastic discs were black. Somewhere between the lines here in the forum I read something about (meaning) “…the thinner blue (?) steering stop limiters are sufficient for maturation. I drive 205/50 R16 or in winter 205/55 R16 and have mounted 5 mm track width at the front of each side. The big turning circle is annoying. Are there thinner discs than the black ones with the above mentioned part number? -Did the track width have a positive influence? -Couldn’t it be, though? Grinding should not be. When buying the car, the wheelhouse shells were ground through and the sheet on the longitudinal beam blank. The previous owner had also driven 16” times. I painted it. and other wheelhouse shells installed. Greetings Chris

  • Yatour NO CHNGR?

    Hello! does one of you sometimes have the message “No Chngr” after starting the FZG or after switching on the ignition? This happens quite often with me. After that I have to switch to radio or another input and then back to the Yatour, after which it works again. Can you fix it somehow? Thanks

  • V70, motor control light, clutch pedal sensor

    Hello, with my Volvo V70, Built. 99, the engine control light has been shining permanently for a few days. When reading out the fault memory, the device says that the clutch pedal sensor is defective. Can this cause the engine control light to glow? And can you change the sensor yourself?

  • Over blower engine

    Hello! The blower engine has given up its mind from one day to the other. First the speed was fluctuating…it drove up and down, although fully turned up and at the end of the ride there was nothing to hear. There were also clear vibrations in/under the glove compartment. I already know how to exchange it. Are there special recommendations for replacement? The original is quite expensive…

  • Volvo 850 TDI Start problems

    Hello guys, I just signed up, maybe you can give me advice on my Volvo 850 Tdi. Year 96, 326 000 km, 170 000 driven by me, runs great, needs an average of about 6.4 liters of diesel and I have never had to pour oil apart from the oil changes. What worries me besides the strong soot development (when giving gas on the highway really embarrassing) starting at low temperatures. If it hadn’t been so warm in winter it would surely have been Probl But I also have to wear it for quite a long time and when it starts, a huge, stinking, white smoke cloud comes out of the exhaust. Since I bought the car five years ago, it has never jumped very well but that has deteriorated significantly lately. My question: Can the situation be improved without much effort or should I look around so slowly for a new car? Thank you and greeting CarlMichael

  • Volvo 850 Consulting

    Good day! Please don’t stone me for this post, I’m still a layman in the topic. For several years I love the 850s and was today at my first visit after I finally got over the step to buy a buy one. I have read extensively here in the forum for the last weeks to know what I have to pay attention to during a visit. What possible cost traps can be and what could become the core scrap. I have there A long time ago here and there a 940s driven by a friend, but of course never had to deal with the repairs. I need now your help for a purchase decision, because I read everything before, could not use it properly during the inspection. It is about following Volvo HERE test drive actually ran quite well. Automatic has switched well, has only switched slightly slowly at higher acceleration. At the back some brake has squealed and in general was the braking performance not too much. Auto optics in itself also fine, only the rear side hung slightly lower, it was a small gap between the body and rear lights at the bottom. Steering wheel was not completely straight and had a small left turn, but drives straight ahead if you let go. Did then of course still take the “oil trap?” test. So after the test drive the oil rod pulled out. Did well smoke out of the engine too. Wanted then still a rubber glove over the oil opening on the engine s tülpen, but he didn’t sit tight enough to see if the bloated. Bzw was also all quite oily because some oil came out. The seller also hit a workshop for a report before: Vehicle has the following defects: Tires rear axle Deterioration Brem disks rear Tacho Kmh display without function stop buffer rear axle Both sides corission weakened impact carrier rear mileage apparently 235,000km, because Tacho meant broken he vl The speedometer has only been broken since the previous owner and there is an entry in the checkbook at 250,000km. So something is not right. He only made several oil changes. What do you think about it, nevertheless a good vehicle? Sorry the long text, would I be happy about helpful answers.

  • Volvo interior blower buzzes

    Hello, this is my first question I ask here in the forum… I’m trying… I’ve got a Volvo 850, BJ 1996, model year 1997, 106 kW, gasoline. The interior fan recently said goodbye, called the engine ran hot and burned through. I’ve built a new fan, which was running permanently at first, I was able to fix that by replacing the pre-resistance. Now the fan is running as intended, but it is buzzing so strongly at high speed that the total e dashboard vibrates. Did I have another fan sent to me, because I thought that the fan was not well balanced, but the second fan also shows the same phenomenon. I don’t know any advice at all, is it because it is not an original Volvo fan or can something be wrong with the electronics and the fan is controlled with too high a voltage? Enjoy good advice and say thank you

E1 90R – 01192/120 Textar 149201 T4136FE Can someone give me a tip like I find the right size? I don’t change the things myself that makes someone of the kinship. Best regards, Roland
