  • Fuel pump – Help with selection of spare parts

    Hello, I have a question about the fuel pump. After my car no longer sprang up, the ADAC has found that the fuel pump is broken. After talking to the ADAC and the effort of YouTube I would like to change the pump myself (do not know about car repairs, but that seems to me to be possible). Now I have looked for a spare part and first found some at Skandix for 112€ and at Amazon for 58€. But I’m thinking about the quality, so the (perhaps a little naive) question: Does it make sense to put the fuel pump on the more expensive Skandix model? So that it becomes even more complicated, I looked at kfzteile24, where I could easily pick up the part myself before Saturday. There the price range goes even further, and the price range goes even further. n 23€ to 230€. As a layman, I can’t judge what kind of pump makes sense. So, long story short: Which fuel pump should I buy best for my Volvo 850? Thank you very much!

  • Heatable exterior mirrors

    Moin Elche. Are the heatable exterior mirrors in our Swedes individually secured..? My passenger side unfortunately does not work even after several exchanges of the mirror glass.   • 850 rear axle rubbers – what parts?

    Hello, my third construction site at my 96’er 850 LW 2.5 10v is the rear axle. The friendly one near me raised him once on the stage and we looked at him from below. The good thing: engine, gearbox, steering – everything close, no game. The bad thing: the rear axle rubbers are totally over. I mean the rubber bearings in the sleeves, which one sees from the inside left and right when one stands directly under the axle. Quasi, where the Stabi goes in. There would be probably no A ring of aluminium in front of it, said the friendly one. But it was already completely gone and not to be seen any more.     Hello, I have some questions about a T5 year `94, 1.Hd., which I drove yesterday to the rehearsal. The car has run 225tkm. At 220tkm/ 3 years ago he got a new turbocharger and the last maintenance (including oil change 5w-40, timing belt change and various for almost 4,000€). Otherwise complete checkbook. Damper front and nivomates replaced about 20tkm. During the test drive the owner demonstrated the kickdown pretty soon, the oil was certainly not warm yet. 1. Can a new Turbo after 5tkm get a damage again by such a driving way? The oil level was only just over min., the oil dark. 2. I did not get the measuring rod for the automatic transmission out with force! What can this be? (new transmission 18 years ago). 3. From below the car looked quite rusty: exhaust due, bumper holder and especially the holding belts of the tank, as well as div. on the underbody. Likewise the seams of the doors in the side area bloomed. Is the norma l? Maybe the car was “pulled” in the garage? The engine otherwise ran well, had really steam. Already impressive. Otherwise I always felt that the vacuum cleaners would be enough for me but these were already worlds!!! Prices are 350€. What worries me are the above points, especially the rust.   • Just wanted to check EVAP – because tank is hissing again – request for help

    Hello all, I drove my Volvo 850 to the Rep. ramps a few days ago (rain break) because I wanted to check the tank ventilation (tank lid is hissing again when opening). I had used an active coal filter (thanks to Eigen2) a few months ago – because this one was missing from me. That also worked until recently – now it’s hissing again. I think that the EVAP valve no longer works correctly – the pipes and the filter are ok. I found a lot of oil under the car on the block. I also noticed an increased consumption of oil. About a year ago the crankshaft-case-ventilation (= oil trap) was made. Since I had time today I then immediately dismantled the rails and the intake manifold – since I could not see anywhere else a leak. From the oil trap – more precisely from the short rubber hose (above) is by a crack the oil “defleucht” (the hose I had not renewed – shit ! ) – someone knows the spare part number at Skandix o.ä. ? Should I also renew the oil trap again ? What is with the rubber sleeve below – also renew ? – Actually yes – if now ‘mal everything is off ! What is their order number ? I please politely for tips ! At the intake care I noticed a hose that goes into the motor nirvana – that can not be correct !? – Or – See picture attached – Where does this have to be plugged? Thank you Udo

  • Steering wheel emblem S80II

    Hello! Does someone happen to know an online source for the steering wheel emblem (the silver lettering “Volvo” with blue background)?! Skandix has that and I have now, after an appropriate order, also, stupidly changed the format of Volvo 2010 and my car is from before the change. So it doesn’t fit. For safety, I bought two not matching emblems… I need the part in 35x8mm and I have found only two sources online so far… One in the U.S.A., the item costs only $ 2.70, but shipping $ 45.00. I can then make a detour to the friendly one. And another source offers imitation parts, also at a too high price, but especially in a bad look in my eyes, I prefer to drive through the area with half-blanked blue. With the friendly one I do not come by “accidentally” and therefore I do not want to go there especially now, if it is not absolutely necessary (Insp section, wheel exchange, etc. are of course just finished).

  • Engine controller S60 2

    Moin together, last week Thursday I was at a longer traffic light phase and I turned off the engine as usual with S/S function. After the start then the engine control started. I am then on Monday to an outdoor to let the error read out. (My next Volvo workshop is almost 80 km away.) There an unknown error P1407 was read out, and then nobody knew what to start with. The error was deleted, but is now back since yesterday evening. Google says, P1407 is an EGR-Temp sensor. The car drives normally as usual, no abnormalities. Does anyone know if you can change the sensor yourself, or where the sensor is sitting at the S60 II, 120 KW Bj. 11 Would otherwise read out an appointment when making a friendly “right” one. By the way, since the start/stop no longer works, is shown “electrical system”. Can this be related to this? Does anyone know where the additional battery is installed on the model?
