  • V50 rims… how hard are 17″ or 18″ (or more ?)

Hello together, am freshly baked (4 days) V50 owner. The good piece is light blue metallic 2.0D Bj2005 Leder Tempomat Standheizung (geil!) and think apart from the iphone-an-volvo-box from grom over leg gowns (velves & tires) for the summer after… currently there are of course 16″ winter tires on it, which comes very “commod” = cozy. Not that I want to race with the car, should definitely remain suitable for everyday use, but from the look I would like 18″ or 19″ rims already, only the question from where it becomes too uncomfortable. Go 18″ still or is that then already “real hard”? Lowering and/or sports gear is probably not possible, the way to the house of the mother-in-law wants to be driven regularly and includes a piece of official field and forest path! I also drive a Porsche 993 Targa (there is a recommendation for Porsche the 18″ because of the comparatively soft car not) to call 17″ serial rims, that would be sportily comfortable… would be nice to say with T. 5 wheels or to keep a little bit of fun.

  • Is renewed track rod a sign of accident? Air conditioning loses fluid

Moin, I’m about to buy a V50 1.8 petrol BJ 2008. Now I discover that on the last invoice of the seller is “purp bar renewed”. Is this an indication that there was a damage or does it have to be done anyway with the 50,000 Insprection? Besides, the air conditioning unit loses liquid, but the workshop has found no fault and only filled up. What do you think? Is a certain loss normal? Or would you suggest that there is something on the capacitor (it seems to happen more often)? The latter would be a rather expensive repair. And – are the new capacitors more stable? Or does someone have an idea how to prevent it? I spontaneously get the idea to put a wire grid in front of it. But I have no idea whether this would be technically feasible. Thank you for your assessment, Schorse P.S.: The Volvoman around the corner meant a capacitor exchange with about 600 Eur to make a book. Since the Ford Focus 2 should be construction-like: Would the capacitor there be somewhat cheaper?

  • Replace camshaft adjuster?

Hello dear Volvo drivers, I have the following problem that seems to be an illness with Volvo. My Volvo V40 2.0L (136 hp, BJ 2001) is running up and running. According to the contract workshop, the noise came from the camshaft adjuster. I replaced it after a few days with a new (260€!), because I wanted to get rid of this noise. Unfortunately, the change somehow didn’t work, my Volvo is still racing. Does anyone have the problem? What did you do? Have used the part now and my prefer not to take it back now :O Greetings

  • Color XC70

After 3 years of V70 the countdown for a new car is running. Since my government was unfortunately not convincing of the XC90 despite extensive test drive, and I wanted a little more ground clearance and AWD, it becomes an XC70. Only with the color I do me somehow heavy. All my cars were so far blue. The barents blue on the card at the dealer looks somehow like a dusty black. At all the colors are so dark that I can see on the card no real difference between black, cassis, barents blue and cdargreen. Ocean race is unfortunately from (heul)… Long speech – do you have a recommendation for the coloration (if possible with a photo). Only white and silver I exclude from the beginning.

  • Questions about the V50!

Hi, I’m planning to buy a Volvo V50 T5. But I’m not quite sure where to buy it yet. Volvo dealer: Advantage 2.99 % Financing, How much discount is there for a new Volvo? Has someone already made his experience? Reimport dealer: Advantage price saving around 7000 EUR (gross), disadvantage quite high financing costs approx. 6.0 % Does someone have experiences in general about reimporting and in special case to www.swedenservice.de ? From which I have sent me an offer which sounds very interesting. Own reimport (car purchase in e.g. Holland or Denmark) After what I found good and like to save 2000 EUR to the reimport dealer (in Holland). What other costs come to me with this variant? How does the purchase in Denmark behave? I did not find any exact price lists for this. Does anyone have experiences on this topic? Thanks and Grusss Lokutus PS: I would also like to know about the performance/run/consumption of the 2.5 l turbo engine installed in the T5!

  • Expensive spare parts???

Hello together, after my dear Ford Escort Kombi has to go to the Werstatt for the third time this year (Bj 98), I love a Volvo V50, Bj 2008. Always wanted to have a Volvo Kombi, and now it’s supposed to be. However, my father gets the crisis with this thought and only meant that they are incredibly expensive if they have to go to the workshop and need a special size for everything (disk wiper, tires, etc.). Now the question to the professionals: what does it look like in practice? Just the advertisement for the car: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=ljpzaaivo2aw what do you mean? Too many km for the price? Or look at it? LG Katrin

  • Upgrade level or harder springs?

Moin, I have a question: My new elk doesn’t have nivomates. We drive by car at least once a year for a tent holiday to Scandinavia and the box is fully loaded – family tent, chairs, table, clothes for 2 adults and two active sheets, bicycles on the roof or rear dran… that’s already going to work well. I now have some shit before such a load in connection with normal dampers and front wheel drive and Swedish gravel runways and 2,000 km in three weeks of holiday. So far I had a HA combi with level control (BMW). Is the V70 still good to drive with full load or is that not so great? Bring reinforced springs something or would it be appropriate in this case, but to upgrade to Nivomate? The Monroe Liftklamotte is not a solution for me; I have read too much bad about it. What the conversion costs is clear to me. Greetz, Tschok

  • Why a radio clock in the moose is not a luxury…

Sunday, around 14:00. Why do they make a noise on the radio from 13:00 o’clock? Oh yes, there was something, summer time is over. So the radio alarm clock is brought and all other clocks are changed in the morning. When it gets colder in the evening, the heating from the elk is quickly set to 06:00 departure time, on Monday morning getting up already hard, it should at least be pleasantly warm in the car. The next morning: in the bathroom I would have to hear the quite loud SH actually. Why does nothing happen, too warm? Suddenly the thought comes to be forgotten… Shit, clock in the elk. The SH has run already an hour too early, meanwhile the car is already cold again and the windows from the outside beat. Of course, a radio clock is not life-saving and certainly not buying, but even if an old Audi A3 has a radio clock in the basic equipment, could Volvo also slowly – or do I demand too much?

  • Question on the heating system

Hello Volvisti, drive a Volvo XC90 D5 since April 05 and have now programmed the heater for the first time in the last nights. What I notice is that the cooling water is not quite cold anymore and the windows are not fogged/ iced (so it should be), but of pleasant temperature in the car I can’t find anything (even after 60 minutes). Therefore my question to you: Is this normal? If yes, the power to de-iron the windows is sufficient even if it gets really cold (-20°C and lower) ? already in advance thank you for your answers … Gruss Walther

  • Consumption increases slowly but continuously

Good morning together. With my moose the consumption indicator continues to rise. I drive almost only urban traffic. Rather cozy. Acceleration orgies are also not part of my driving style. Nevertheless, the consumption of 10.8 liters , in April , has increased to today 12.4 liters . Every month something came with it… The engine itself runs like a clockwork. Jumps reliably and has immediately round and quiet running. Also when driving, no abnormalities. Well, it doesn’t bother me when it consumes so much, but it irritates me nevertheless. Should it be normal, then good. If not, where could you look after it? What should be cleaned up?? What do you consume with this engine? S80 with 204 hp At the time 153,000. Error memory has not yet been read out. Thank you for tips and hints.
