  • Long-term experience HEICO, BSR, … (km stand, defects, …)

Hello together, I’m looking for long-term experiences to increase the performance of Heico and / or BSR. How high are your km running performance with chip? Did you have defects after the chipping (which were the kind)? Can you recommend the chipping without hesitation? Admittedly, so far I find quite few problems and no, I’m not looking for them. 🙂 Because of a defect we had to replace our old Volvo quickly and there we ended up with a S60 D3 (switch – was mandatory condition and just stood at the dealer… :-)). This is super beautiful, but we lack a few PS to our old 2.5T… Greetings! PS.: someone knows if the V40 D4 is identical to the S60 D3 (2012) so is only different by the control unit?

  • Partially spongy driving behavior – tires to blame?

Hello together, since yesterday my elk shows a strange behavior, each towards the middle to the end of my work distance (at about 20-25 km driving distance) – very spongy steering feeling, slightly delayed, a little as if one literally “driving on raw eggs”. At the beginning of the ride everything feels OK.To the closer circumstances: – Have still winter tyres on it (came not yet to change), which are almost new, is their first season – From my long road trip with full packed car I still have the recommended pressure of 2.8 bar front and 2.6 bar back on it, thought for the few days, which the winter tires are still on it, I can live with some increased wear in the tire center. – Yesterday afternoon it had 26°C, today early, when the phenomenon occurred again, something between 12-15°C. – I always in the middle of the track quite floated highway. Can someone make a rhyme to the cause of this phenomenon? A mechanical problem I suspect rather did not; did not have a Bordsteinrash or had no heavy noise, but I did not know anything about the heavy noise of the ride.

  • C70II rust on the roof roof element

Today I cleaned all the seals (with rubber pleating agent) and oiled (oil from Volvo – 60Euro). I noticed that the varnish peels off and already form the first rust bubbles under the remaining varnish, namely at the front roof element, at the very front where the roof is lying on the A-pillar. I suspect three causes: 1. too violent “smiling” of the roof element on the A-pillar at closing 2. the seals were very brittle and dirty – this scratchs on the paint and “smokes” it permanently away 3. Misconstruction – in my eyes a place so burdened is better protected (dicker rubber, otherwise what?) My car is year 2006 and now has 205tkm down. does anyone else have this paint/rust phenomenon? And above all, what can you do against it??

  • XC90 Speed-dependent power steering

Hello forum. I have ordered my big one (D5 185hp) now, but the accessory list does not let me go yet. What are your “experiences” with the speed-dependent power steering? How does this work compared to the normal servo? Do you have to have that? Important when parking or high speeds? Who can report on the behavior of both experts? Thank you for your information

  • Farewell to the V70

So dear elk community! After 3 years and 5 months I separate myself from my V70 2,4 D (with matte, switched 143PS), which has nevertheless never let me down. He was not a really exciting car, but I did not expect that from him as an experienced Volvist either. At the 100 Td he on his digital clock and his venezial red will soon be missing me, when I will then line up in the silver or black unit porridge. Except for an electrically sounding internal mirror – of which I have doubted for a very long time – he had no flaws or flaws. All the service ran according to plan and that he has a new left mirror is only due to my lack of measure of sight and not to a defect. Otherwise I will almost say goodbye to him as he came to me – apart from a few scratches and dents, which have given him a few unobservable park neighbor. I may drive him for a while, but I have sold him and with it I would start with the grievous work of the combined. 70 I would only appreciate him unreliably.

  • Processing quality of the 185 HP V70/S60

To all owners of a new 185 HP Diesel V 70 or S 60 (AWD). In various threads the processing quality of our elk was discussed. I drive a V 70, MJ 2001 with almost 90,000 km on the clock. But on the whole I have to find satisfied that the processing in the interior, especially the center console and partly door panels, handles inside as well as dashboard could be a bit better, since one or other plastic noise occurs when the streets are not topfeben. Which of the drivers of the above-mentioned new elk has comparative experiences and can give a statement about the processing quality in the interior for a short time!? Reason: Well, he would already irritate, the new D5 😉 Greeting Silbervolf

  • What oil do you think?

I know there are a lot of topics about this question, but I wanted to know what you are saying about it. I have recently given the Shell Ultra Helix 5w40 in my V40 and am actually satisfied. My mechanic recommended me a 5w40 and even the Shell Oil. I always look at Amazon and for comparison the Liqui Moly 5w40 has about 700 reviews ALL have given 5 stars and you can certainly say that it is a high end oil, among other things because it is MADE IN GERMANY and I am also of the opinion that the German quality is unbroken. My Volvo: V40 1.9d Bj 2004 105ps The Shell Oil 5w40 has only as Bsp just 70 reviews on Amazon, would you say that these reviews are decisive? Compared to the Liqui Moly it is actually no comparison since just so few people buy the shell or just don’t give any reviews. Would you say that in the case the Liqui Moly is ahead of the shell, mobile and so on quality??? Of course, you can’t just clasify that because of the reviews but LG still look forward to all your opinions.

  • volvo 850 awd lpt 20v combi reports?

hey people I recently bought a 850 awd blue 97 180 000 km for 300 euro. want to listen to me, what experiences you have with 850 awd. mine has zero rust except rear flap. however, the cardan shaft has horrible play. then still as small as brake slurry and antr.well.manschatten. convinced me the interior equipment. leather and wood steering wheel are noble. moreover if it has sailed or cold it is not right. so if the lpt should come he has something like setters. what could that be? end cable/distributor? because then it needs full juice? besides motor control lamp lights up. salesman says it’s not bad at 850/v70 general error. tester shows any error air mass sensor or any sensor. if you know of such a mistake please tell and experience! thank you!

  • Would like to buy a V70 2,2 144PS

Hello, I’m about to buy a V70 2,2 Built 9/98. The good piece has now run 265 tkm and is first hand. The engine runs silky soft. Nothing jerks or clatters. The body is stainless. The equipment includes air conditioning, ABS and leather. What bothers me about the good something is the bright ABS lamp. Where can this come from and what are your experiences with it. How high is the cost of spare parts in general and special in the area ABS. Sensor, pump etc. At Volvo I know unfortunately zero. I am grateful for everything. Greetings, Klaus

  • Cable fire?

Hello. Drive a Volvo s40 1.8 Yesterday my light switch was smoking and my standing light didn’t turn on anymore. After the switch was removed, I noticed that the switch was over as soon as I switched to the 2 level. Stage 1 so day running light/standlight works. So I checked the lamps myself. Both h4 plugs were lost to unrecognizability. After I checked all the fuses and found out that none of them had gone, I started to ponder very much. Seat tongue without function, number panel lighting without function, tacho lighting without function and disc water pump without function. I have the standing light until I get my spare part clamped to the battery with a 15A fuse. So and now to my question: do all the problems disappear again as soon as I have a new working light switch? Why are all fuses still intact. What has light to do with the seat heating? Did I overlook fuses.
