  • Rain sensor or programmable wiper relay

    Moin, unfortunately, the search for the above mentioned topic did not come much from. Therefore the question again which solution there is and who has had what experience with its conversions. The question: Is there a programmable wiper relay that would fit with the V40 MY 2003 ?(had I changed at the S70, simply original for the 99 of VW) Alternative would be a retrofitable rain sensor, then only by which manufacturer and how good are these. Has any of you equipped a rain sensor over the last 2-3 years and if so, from whom and how is the experience worth it? Would I be happy if I even get only experience values from hearing / saying.   • very loud rolling noise Goodyear Ultra Grip 7+

    Hello, I bought the above-mentioned winter tyres for my S40 last October. The reason for this was the Pneus test winner. Size; 205/55R16. The tyres have a perfect grip in snow, ice and wet. But what is absolutely disturbing is the extremely loud rolling noise between 60 and 100 km/h. First I thought my bike bearings would bless the time but after I reared my summer tyres for test purposes and everything was normal again, something can not be right with the winter tyres. After googlen I learned on ADAC online pages that the problem with these tyres and this size is known. Goodyear would probably replace the tyres. Who of you also drives these tyres and has the same problem? Has someone already made a trade over goodyear? MfG Ronny

  • What triggers a GTI… or 2.0D against T5

    Since yesterday evening I am a bit confused, .. I have been driving my C30 2.0D for over 2 years now and tested a Golf 6 GTI for a short time yesterday .. well what should I say … 210 hp (petrols) are already awesome. Consequence? First of all, see if there is something adequate on the market, .. Yes a used T5 (C30) R-Design +Leder+Xenon+Navi. Price fits this, but I am currently driving 25,000 KM a year, which is never calculated at all when I go out of min 10L/100km in the place (gas conversion is not possible) with the 2.0D I used z Zt 8.1 (slow driving) Actually the C30 is planned to be replaced by a V30 (if I like it) or V60 (next year) so it is not worth buying the T5 (2nd reason) or see it differently? I would probably buy it anyway under the category of emotion. Diesel: 2774 € /25.

  • Do women also drive the XC90 ?

    Hello, we had almost decided for the Q7, but I (woman) did not get along in the parking garage with the long length and the one-piece huge cargo compartment flap swings so high that I didn’t get to it anymore. But we don’t want the electric flap because it is too insecure for us (especially if children are under it). Now maybe the XC90 would be something for us. Is there women who have already driven the Volvo here in the forum, how can you handle it in the parking garage and is it clear? I also believe that women drive just as good cars as men, but they certainly pay attention to other things. Juss

  • S60 is in a coma, total failure electrics

    Before that I made fun of the Volvo guarantee and the assistance, now Volvo has my car by radio or something switched off Total failure electrics! And I wanted to start in 30min to a Volvo meeting (from the Volvo forum.de) I immediately called the assistance and complained about the shutdown of my elk. Cann’t be like that, just because you’re blasphemed about VCG in 45min the ADAC will be there anyway… I’ll report… such a SCHEISS at least nothing is going on anymore. The S60 stands with open window in the garage entrance, fortunately it doesn’t look like rain. All electrics is dead. If you put the ignition key on position 2 you can hear all the relays in the dashboard clacking. Maybe only the battery has collapsed. Although the car was not closed, the trunk is locked. Can I try the emergency opening with the ignition key right now.

  • Audio packages

    So, my decision for the S40 has been made, now it’s up to the configuration, and I don’t see through the differences of the three audio systems (Performance/High Performance/Premium) quite yet. – The brochure says in the audio package “Performance”: “Can you expand a multi-function leather steering wheel and 6-fold CD changer.” My friend, however, claims that CD changer only works with high performance or premium, and so it’s also in the Easter Price List (April 2004). However, I don’t know if this has a technical background or a marketing measure. – I happen to notice at a test drive that the performance package obviously cannot be speed-dependent volume control (the whole menu item “Loudness settings” is missing). How is this with High Performance? Can someone clarify these two points? Is there any more detailed documentation of the differences in the audio packages than the two sides in the S40-Prospect? And does anyone know if there are any subsequent changes (see Upgrade Perf->Highium Perf->?

  • Creative ideas sought for my wife’s driving mistakes

    Hello municipality As you can recognize by the photos, my wife doesn’t know exactly where the bumper is at at the front. On Friday she made a brief acquaintance with the wall in the company garage. Yesterday again, only a little longer! She apparently striped the wall at the driveway to the 2nd floor. I don’t want to start a discussion about the driving lights of my wife or other women here, but gather ideas on how to prevent this in the future. Another car (Corsa or Polo) is not in question.. I have already asked for parking sensors. Unfortunately, there are only those with the rear and cost more than I want to spend. Maybe one of you has ideas about what to do against it.

  • Power loss 2.0D without error message

    I’ve had a problem with my C3 2.0D DPF since yesterday (2008). When accelerating from lower speeds, there is a lack of perceptible power and it’s particularly striking when accelerating in upper gears on the highway: initially hardly any power, then again full power, again hardly any power, again full power, etc. in the interval of about 1 second. Maximum speed: 180km/h on a straight track. Controlling and reading of the fault memory gave no result. About four months ago, I was also equipped with normal gasoline instead of diesel. Complete injection system, hoses were renewed and tank cleaned. Could this be a consequential damage now? Who can I be held liable for in this case?   • A guarantee question – your opinion !?

    Hello, wanted to have your opinion on a warranty question! I asked a few times about a crackling noise on the front axle. As you mentioned, a Volvo dealer confirmed to me that it was the cathedral warehouse. Although the dealer said that it was not relevant for safety reasons, it is still on my nerves, which is why I would like to have the problem solved. Since we bought the car only 6 months ago, I hoped to get the repair on guarantee. First I asked Volvo directly. However, these rejected any culling performance (only 2 years warranty). Also the car guarantee concluded with the purchase rejected a reperatur, since the component is not mentioned in the contract. However, I am still of the opinion that there is a warranty case and therefore directly asked the dealer where we bought the car. Here I am waiting for a call back. How can you see this? Can I assert warranty claims? If the dealer refuses to take legal action, then the free reperature (legal protection insurance for me).

  • capital electrical error / is it starting now?

    Hello, this morning I just drove the moose out of the driveway: When I wanted to close the car again, not the turn signal as “Quitung” came, but I saw that the brake lights were still switched on. When I started again, there was a lot of error messages from the on-board computer: Bring the vehicle to a safe stop! Airbag maintenance erföderlich ABS failure slip protection etc. In addition, the windscreen wiper could not be switched off anymore and the main light flashed in the beat of the wipe intervals. Great self-life! So first of all the battery clamped down, so that the brake light did not suck the battery off. After calling the VOLVO Assistance came the ADAC, which took my elk huckepack and brought it to the next friend. I was curious what he caught up with. The 11.000km anyway, could not have gotten to him at my driving mode. Hopefully no marder?! Tomorrow I get a rental time, how the VOLVO promise works. The Elch picture was almost for me the best thing!
