  • Automatic – Newbie … How to go through the wash road? 🙂

Sorry, the question is really serious… I’ve been washing by hand so far, but at the moment I don’t have the time and I would like to drive through a (very good) wash road… Only on the way there the thought came to me… How???? Since the Volvo is my first automatic car, I don’t have any experience how that goes exactly… In “N” I can’t turn off the car. So only “P” would turn off and “N” would go… I don’t think I can go from P to N, if the car is off… (gear lock?) And if I let the engine run, switch to N and stay in it … then this City-Save grabs when the washbrushes come and makes a full brake? Can someone help me and explain the “procedur”?

  • Buying advice S60 2.0T petrol, 76 500 km, BJ 2010

Hello Forum, I have driven a C30 so far and have now come across the S60 by chance, specifically the somewhat rare motorization 2.0T (203 hp), equipment variant Summum, automatic, Navi, sliding roof – 76 500 km and year of construction 9 / 2010. Checkbook maintained, the car makes a very valuable impression on the outside as well as on the inside and is really elegantly styled for my term – the test drive then did its rest. 🙂 If you look around a bit, the S60 seems to regularly win reliability prizes in its class, or does it slowly come to an age from 6 years onwards, from which you should be careful? One point that also leaves me a little doubt is the consumption – before I drove a D2 diesel and now it showed almost 10 l Super after the test drive (a mix of city and highway). The navigation data seems to be read from a DVD or CD, can it be? How do you actually get updates and play real-time traffic data about TMC into the route guidance? Please look forward to answers. Maybe someone is driving a similar model at this age? Greeting Christian

  • Defect AGR and Turbo V60 D4

Hello to the MT Volvo Forum, after 3 years of carefree driving with my V60 D4 (BJ 10/2012 – MJ 2013; 80 TKM) during the motorway ride my Volvo showed me last week first the exhaust error message (yellow engine symbol) and then one day later the notification „motor system maintenance required… After reading the error memory by it turned out that the AGR valve is complete and needs to be replaced (cleaning no longer possible). Here the turbo hoses were renewed, because they were defective/fragile. Cars back and the first 80 KM all good. Then with short, strong acceleration again the error message: “Motor system maintenance required… Now it turns out that the turbocharger no longer has to be adequately addressed and also needs to be renewed. Makes 1.800,- and before AGR + Turbo hoses + (earlier) inspection already cost me 1.400,-. I am now e twas bewildered, that with the age and the KM performance so serious damage occur (regular inspections at Volvo, driving profile on weekdays 100 km highway, WE primary stand service, hardly short distance). I fear that I have here simply bad luck, because – I think – these are not known problems, right? Disappointed greetings from volvomaniac.

  • Release for summer tyres 195/65R15 on Volvo 850

Good morning together, I have recently been the owner of a 96 Volvo 850 Kombi (106kw) and in total, despite the mileage of 290.000km, very satisfied with the car. However, the tyre approvals give me some puzzles. I have already searched the one or other older thread here in the forum on this topic, but this has contributed to the confusion. To the previous story: My car got fresh Tüv before the purchase and indeed with summer tyres n the dimension 195/65R15. When I found out that there should probably be no clearance for this, I contacted two well-known technical testing organisations that carry out HUs and got the information that the mentioned format can very well be driven in summer like winters, because it is a wheel/tire size allowed within the ABE/EC type-approval. However, only on 6.5x15x43 rims. In this context I am here in the forum about folg The following document has been stumbled:http://www.motor-talk.de/…/Attachment.html?attachmentId=696871 Does this mean that I can only drive the aluminium wheels listed in the document in the specified formats? However, I have “only” original Volvo steel wheels of the specified format. Here in the forum I have also read several times that there is, if at all, only a release for winter tyres of the dimension 195/65R15, also I have read something of required steering limiters. confused – maybe you can help me get some clarity!? Thank you in advance and a nice Sunday! MfG Jablonski

  • Bumper V70R

I wanted to know if I could mount a bumper, a V70R, on my V70 (Mj.99). Shouldn’t it fit, right? If so, someone knows the part number, so that I can look around, or find out a price. I would like to upgrade the look of my vehicle in terms of… ..I have come to the funnel, with the clear glass C70 lights, now too… Thanks to you here!

  • ET sticker and no “TÜV” ?!

Hello, I was at the dekra today and did not get a “TÜV”. On the rims there is nowhere the ET so that the examiner can also assign it according to his statement. Because in the ABE there are other Volvo vehicles with other ET’s. Since I left the rims powder coated I just thought that it might be somewhere under or was sanded away. I also told him that… he also showed the calculation of the rims where also the ET, description of the rim and my name on it. I drove home and had one rim after another down and on every spoke in the back you could read everything nice only no ET there…. then I ended up at a spoke two raised circular surfaces and there just once with a screwdriver the layer made unfortunately no ET, but not now I have ratted up and down the report and solved the puzzle. in the report stands that the ET on a sticker attached is… about google I found a rim from my manufacturer like this sticker looks… the thing is a normal sticker that probably at my age the rims (1,5 J,), apart from the coating would have already blessed the time long ago or would not be readable at all. so what do I do now? is this really so important in the test that the ET is checked? :/ everything else is really easy to read

  • In the truest sense of the word “ice cold caught”

Hello! Yesterday it actually caught me. I get in, want to start the car…nix…Everything flickers short, after that the BC/ECU (however) is reset. Battery removed, 1.5h charged and then it ran again! What measures are there, what is recommended to isolate the battery? I read a lot of Styrofoam, which is placed around the battery and fixed with adhesive tape. Does this actually help=? I thought of glass wool spontaneously… I really don’t feel like a daily, morning trembling… Since I have to take the children to KiGa and then quickly continue to work!

  • V70 climate flashes

Hello people, my air conditioning system has been blinking for about 20 seconds when I start the car. It works normally, but flashes still, i.e. the air and air conditioning led. after I searched the forum, I hung my obd II device on my elk and read out the errors. That’s a device from the internet that allows you to read and reset errors. I used it for the first time, but it looks like it works. That’s why it was funny that no error was displayed. e… Is it possible that this flashing can only be a kind of indication of a service of the climate? The service lamp in the speedometer has been shining for some time when starting, because a view is due. How can I actually reset it?? I have been living in France recently and am very unsure about the Volvo dealers here after I have seen a workshop from the inside. do you have experiences there? Are they as good as in Germany or rather French? ösisch laissez-faire? Many greetings Stefan

  • No sliding roof frame or completely available anymore, what now?

Hello, now as with many my glass sliding roof frame rusts, because the seal was leaking at the impact. As this is a known problem, I am somewhat surprised that there should be no new frame or the whole roof at Volvo. Well, it is a 99, but I have other brands standing there, which are older, and the parts still exist…. Used, but they all look like my…. Does anyone have a tip where I get the part new? Thanks mfg Jerry V70/11/99 Mod.00

  • V70 2.5 20V Lambda sensor lamp/motor control lamp

Hello everyone, this week I want to see a used V70 2.5 20V from 1997. On the photos he looks well preserved, only 2 owners (the now, before his father-in-law); has “Pickerl” (in Ö. counterpart to HU) until 4/2020. On the phone the owner explained to me that the car has only one problem: at periodic intervals the lamp for the Lambda probe (engine control light?) starts to light; the engine runs quite normal, but the exhaust values are not over The workshop would then reset the Feheler report again, but it would then reappear several months later… What can that be? Indication of a more serious problem, or meaningless? Oh yes, because I am here anyway (and then not get 5 different results again via Google): Does anyone happen to know how much km/years the timing belt can be changed with the 2.5 20V suction cup (170 hp)? (The car has just over 300000km on the clock, and is, as I said, from 1997).
