Hello… I have to expand my V70 MJ06 to PDC (front, rear – third-party) and a front (prisma) and rear camera. For this I would order the video break-in box from www.volvotech.nl with 2 video inputs. At the automatically switching input I would put the rear camera (radio T5 in the license plate frame of Luis.de), at the other input the front camera. To activate the 2nd channel, one has to set a 12V switching signal. I would then have to do this manually. K If I use a free switch on the switchbar at the bottom of the center console for these purposes? The front PDC to be installed would probably always be under juice regardless of speed. To do this I would probably have to switch it off in case of snowfall etc. Here is the same question with the switch.. How and where did you put additional switches in your Volvo. Would be nice if you could post a few pictures about this… Why is the front PDC usually on the Tachos ignal connected and shuts down at over 30 km/h? Due to false alarms at high speeds? Where would I usually get the power supply from the front PDCs? Pull voltage line from the fuse box forward or pick up somewhere in the engine compartment? Many questions… Greetings, gosar….

Driver’s door is spinning
Hello, I was on the road with the V70 and something spins completely at the driver’s door! When I parked the car, I wanted to first open the mirrors electrically, on the right it went quite normal. But on the driver’s door only the engine hums and the mirror drives back a little bit and stays there permanently. Also the floor lighting in the mirror flickers up and then goes out! In addition, the lighting of the window lifter control unit flashes like the blinker indicator, and the d If you run down the window with the lift, it goes perfectly. If you want to make it up, it only goes a little bit higher at the push of a button. If you do it long enough, you get the window up completely. What can it be? Is it somehow connected with the power supply of the door? Since it is so many things, I somehow can’t get along with the Sufu. Who knows what? VG Pete

XC90 draughts
Hello, I have already received quite a lot of information about the draft at the XC90 in this forum. I have a 07 summum D5. Since the beginning of the colder season I have constantly after a little longer ride a cold left arm and the left side of the face is also cold. The heating on the left switches to cold after some time (already repaired twice). Both problems have nothing to do with each other, since I have a XC90 car rental for a week (Mod. 06) and there the same Zu gluftproblems occur. I have the feeling that the cold air comes out of the door, i.e. between internal covering and disk. On the right side there is no problem. Does anyone have similar experiences or solutions?

Again throttle flap, but other mistakes than usual
Moin moose driver, my S80 has already given me a funny error message twice. I drove, then turned off the car and hit it again shortly afterwards. Suddenly the MKL lights up and the message: Urgent engine maintenance required. To get my plug to the OBD and error code says: throttle valve: Sudden high air throughput. Error code deleted continued. 4 days later again. Same error. When driving I noticed nothing and strangely comes the Mistakes also nciht during the ride, but appears when I turn on the car. Someone an idea what that can be? Does the DK possibly hang somewhere and only have to be cleaned? Ohso, is about the 2.4 suction cup with 140hp BJ 2002

Where is the real engine number to see?
Hy, so I have a V70 Bj.11/99 2,4T with a B5244T engine. About 3 years ago this one was replaced on a same B5244T engine. Now again an engine damage on the same cylinder (we suspect the injection nozzles). I bring my old head to the workshop so that we can possibly use the valves (from 2 make 1, logically via engine workshop, with valve seat ect. everything new. Now call me and say the heads are not the same, these have different valve guide one with 6mm of the other with 7mm…..*joy* They wanted to work up the head of the alen engine right away, because the current one has a crack where (maybe there is the problem regarding exhaust gas values ?). They want to compare the right engine numbers now, whether the head of my original engine fits at all on the block of the exchange engine (not that there is a tiny change. You can use the Volvo in any case, because they themselves do not know about their engine differences – I remember that they didn’t even know the difference between the engine type with the additional 1-4…. Now where exactly do I find this engine number ? (possibly with the timing belt, or is this also where in the vehicle papers – although mostly there is only the engine type and in Germany there is nothing at all I think) Thank you in advance Jerry (think that it will not run Volvo technically for long…..)

Cooling water in the bonnet at cooking / steaming
Hello! Today, while driving in the city prison, the cooling water became so hot that I had to drive right because it steamed out of the engine compartment. The journey was only 6 km in. I let the car cool down and filled up the cooling water which was empty after the opening of the tank (it sprayed) and then drove on 2-3 km. The identical problem occurred again. I once again waited for the container for the cooling water to be filled up. the thermostat was broken and changed it directly for 40€. After a few hours I was able to pick up the car again and drove to the sample 30 km. The engine is not heated this time but for that the sign for the coolant turned on. I don’t know how full the workshop made the cooling tank but when it was checked it was only half filled and I put it again for safety. Since then, the car has been standing. In the workshop, the car has run for 30 minutes to test whether the engine is overheated again or the tank is overcooked. They said that in your opinion the problem is probably solved. So my question, should I just drive around again and check if the cooling liquid is getting less again, because then I definitely have to go back to the workshop. Or should I rather go directly there again? If you googelt you come to s This change costs more than the 1,000 € I paid for the Volvo and then I would rather sell the box directly again as an export car even though I have not yet driven 1000 kilometers with it. Best regards, Roland

Unknown part with vacuum hose and PCV system
Hello, I would like to change the crankcase ventilation and the not so completely baptismal vacuum hoses in my Volvo 850 (Bj. 96, the 2.4L 10V 106kW B5252S-Motor). One of the hoses had recently caused a vacuum leak, which I have just cut a little bit and thus cut off the damaged spot. The hose goes to the bottom of this component which is marked on the photo with the red arrow, which also has a hose the i m Nothing ends (I pulled out under the air filter box and put it to the right). I have already looked at diagrams with the vacuum hoses for the 850, but could not make this part out. Could it belong to the “EGS-System of GAT” which is installed according to the vehicle license to reach the Euro2 pollutant class? If yes, someone knows where to connect the hose normally? As for the crankcase ventilation: At Skandix it says that the engine is on a ” newer” A variant of the crankcase ventilation can be retrofitted”. Does anyone happen to know the differences to the older parts? Does the less easily block them? Otherwise I have to ask Skandix directly. I thought that I would first disassemble it and then see which hoses have to be replaced concretely and what else rips off when disassembly, in order to order everything in a wash-up.

SRS lamp and related phenomenon
Hello Volvo Forengemeinde, I have a problem with my Volvo V70I, built 01/2000, 2.4 Ltr 103 kw. When I start the car, the SRS lamp does not go out. In addition, and that I do the actual phenomenon, goes as long as the SRS lamp lights up, neither the Kpl. Tacho lighting, nor the blower and also not the radio. After the SRS lamp goes out (about a minute) the ventilation, speedometer lighting, radio goes without problems. During the ride this error does not occur. My free WHO kstatt has read out the error memory once. No error except that the passenger belt lock is listed. Now my question: Can all this have to do with each other in everything? If I think about it this way, the SRS error should always be present with a “defected belt lock”, ergo the lamp should be permanently luminous. What worries me is that the phenomenon of the missing speedometer lighting etc. is always present. What can this be? who, without any real errors in the memory, it becomes a big search. On the edge: The interior lighting no longer goes out when I start the engine or set it on ignition. It burns almost constantly. Can this be related somehow because both “mistakes” occurred at the same time? I hope one or the other has some kind of tip for me, what it could be, what I could check, what the workshop could check etc etc. I thank in advance for Your answers. Greetings Hendrik

V70 II is the first car?
Hi! I got my driver’s license a few weeks ago, and I want to buy a car now. My parents tend to have a golf, but I want to have a V70. Simply because it is nice and big. The only problem is: I have a maximum of €2,000, because my parents don’t want to add anything if it becomes a Volvo. Now the question: Is a V70 suitable as a first car, or rather not? And further: What would be the maximum mileage you should take? On mobile.d e there is the V70 already from 1,000€, but then also gladly times with 350,000 kilometers. Is that definitely too much or you can take one like that (because Volvo is otherwise known for many kilometers) Thank you already in advance!
