  • A merciless crack at the front!

    Hello together! With my V40 1.8, 90 kw 122 hp, automatic transmission, BJ 2003 MJ 2004 and B4184S2 I have problems! Now I have installed new ignition coils and spark plugs from VOLVO and the eternal wrong attempts of starting the engine is finally fixed. Engine runs great. But already this junk pile is in the bucket again. If I start with the automatic transmission it cracks at the front of the 1st gear into the 2nd gear or I have to drive back warm up, then it cracks too. It cracks even if I have to hold before the traffic light at 15/20 km/h and brake. 2 weeks ago on the right drive shaft the joint head was renewed to the right wheel photo! Just for information for you! I hope you can help me, what this could be or had already something like that. Thank you in advance and a nice 4th Advent I wish you!   • V70 used, wasting meaningful extras or what?

    Well, I don’t want to miss out on the V40 forum. Of course, there’s a lot of questions like this one to you and it’s probably annoying for me. But since we’re getting offspring and the V40 BJ5/98 isn’t the biggest one, we’re still thinking about buying a new one. Well, there were some cars already in the conversation, including Opel Astra, Ford Focus, VOLVO V50, but I still think that the nice car is not worth a seat there. So I think I’m buying the V70 as a used car. Well, I’ve already had the 2.5D and the 2.5 D5 test cars before. The engine performance is pretty nice and I’m enjoying about as much as my V40 2T but I’m still in doubt if there’s a diesel at all, clear mileage of 20TKM are already there and I’d like to say that the most important thing about a diesel is for me.

  • Wiper blades on V70 from 03/04? Replacement help!!!

    Hello, wanted to change the wiper blades on my new used Volvo V70 Bj12/04. I still have new ones of the model 01/04, but they don’t fit the recording. On the homepage of SWF and Bosch, however, I can’t see a new type number, but there was a list at ATU, after in fact another type (356) has to be used from 03/04. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it in the program! Under Google now- no success?! Has the V70 received VisoFlex or Bosch Aero Twin sheets as standard and which type numbers do they have? Gruss SK70

  • XC70 -> Technical question: Why brake effect worse when “pumped”?

    Hi together, I just stepped on a funny effect. If I press (at normal straight drive, no traffic 😉 several times in a row on the brake pedal (not completely through, just tap and only very little delay), then I have after about 10x “pump” (so I call this now) a very difficult, hard brake pedal path. This feels like the hydraulic support is out or simply not active. After a few meters it goes again. Can someone just explain this to me? Thanks Tschau Torsten – the XC fan (must be that way with all Volvos, but put it here in the subforum for discussion 😉

    Hello. And another question: I need two more summer tyres for my V70. Which tyres are considered as a secret tip this year? It’s about the measure 215/55R16. Background is this: My dealer bought me two new tyres last year when selling the car for the front. The rear would go another season he said, and keep right. Now the front OK and rear are up.   • Volvo V 90 D4 Engine oil service required

    Hello Volvo driver, I am addressing a question to you: I am very happy to drive a Volvo V 90 D4, EZ 4/2019, current mileage 102000 km. The vehicle is regularly serviced according to the maintenance plan at the Volvo car dealership, last service took place 12/2023. No short distance traffic, there are always at least 50 km covered. For some time in the center display with the oil level display with the blue beams appears sporadically the message “too much oil filled in”. In the driver’s dysplay is then reported “motor oil service required”. On other days the oil level is then again in the standard range to maximum and in the driver’s dysplay no message can be recognized. The car dealership has checked the oil level several times, the filled quantity is always at 5,2 l. The oil level sensor has been changed in December, this has not resulted in lasting success, the above mentioned reports continue to appear. The recommendation of the car dealership is now to ignore the report, since the oil level is demonstrably in the standard area. Since now further vacation rides are at hand, however, it is with me?

  • Noise after turning off the engine – normal?

    Hello to each other, I have already used the SF of MT and Google, but found nothing comparable to what my XC90 deals with the D5. I hope you can help. The following I noticed last time and I just want to make sure that this is okay, or I prefer to go to a workshop, as long as I still have a one-year used car warranty: When I turn off the engine, I hear something (metallic noise) going on in the engine room until it finally comes to a standstill. But that’s only heard when I open the door or stand outside. In the vehicle itself you don’t notice anything. Also, I sometimes feel that it is so “normally” . Could it possibly be the turbocharger that is still spinning a few more revolutions? I’m aware that a remote diagnosis is difficult. Well, since it’s my first Volvo I just wanted to know if it’s “normally” or not. Could it be the turbocharger that I can’t confirm that it’s still a few more revolutions going on?

  • T4 ABS – Problems

    meal, does anyone know about the abs system? I would have liked to know exactly where the valve relay is for the abs. is it a separate relay in the engine room, or is it located in the module of the pump motor. if the latter should be the case, is the question whether it is interchangeable? would like to save me the aaaaaaaaaaaaassssig expensive purchase of a complete module of 1000eus. am grateful about every tip and experience around the abs. the scare

  • Heckwischer without function and no idea

    hello, I have a problem with my heckwischer… since the beginning of feb 2010, he always suspends, but then worked again and again. but since yesterday he doesn’t move anymore. have read the threat on the topic of january 2010, but he doesn’t understand it, or could not filter out any solution from it: what is a cem? and how can I find out what is broken: the relay or the motor itself? or even the contact on the switch lever? can it also be the security that is through (which I haven’t yet checked)? is there any single fuse only for the heckwischer? what measurements must arrive at the rear of the plug so that I know enough current arrives?   • Sleep mode or fuses?

    “Finally” I can also post a problem with my elk here once! This morning at 4:30 am I unlocked the (everyday still fully functioning) elk with the remote control. Either in the back of the trunk 2 fuses are defective (is that the cause or effect) or the car is in sleep mode. To exclude the sleep mode the plus pole of the battery can be separated…. I almost hope on the fuses – I come to it easier… Maybe it is also “snucked”, because I yesterday with it was Marc -200km/h in sleep mode -200km/h in sleep mode – I can also post a problem with my elk.
