  • Engine overheating

    Hello guys, I have a problem with my Volvo s80 II 12.2012. Engine overheating. Water pump, thermostat, zanremen, pressure compensation lid with accessories I have again at pitstop. The problem still exists. In addition, the coolant (-30) is lost (from the container due to a wage for compensation – whether everything or not is not to invest). Top/Lower hoses are heating, but when heating comes in no warm air. Top hose has a lot of pressure. Ventilator switch et quite normal 10C/50C/90 Celsius. Diagnostic didn’t give anything. Everything was fine. A Volvo Frick (his own workshop for Volvo) told me today that probably thermostat was not installed properly or head gasket. Pitstop and in the workshop are clueless where the problem lies. Could someone help me?

  • DSTC probably defective!

    Hi, yesterday I was once again on a driving safety training of the ADAC. Incidentally, during this training there was an absolutely identical XC90 V8 with identical tyres (Pirelli Ice&Snow) and even the same profile depth there. At the last driving training one year ago I had massive problems with the V8 in the watered circular track: the vehicle broke out at the lowest speeds at the rear. At that time I pushed the rear tyres driven at the limit (1mm above the mark) N. Other XC90 (e.g. XC70D5) didn’t have this problem at the time either. This time exactly the same picture: My XC90 breaks out already from about 30 km/h HINTEN on the slip surface. And this is exactly what the DSTC is supposed to prevent, it regulates the wheels so that the car breaks out at best in the front. Also, the ADAC trainers have not been able to detect control action on the wheels! Since an identical comparison vehicle was there, we have the same driving situation with the other V8 gem eight: The car was also by force not to be moved to a rear outburst – the rule intervention was very fast and clearly visible. Even with the DSTC switched off (actually only reduced) there was no rear outburst to be generated in the comparison XC, but an earlier outburst at the front. In my case, there was no change at all with the DSTC switched off – the car also breaks out immediately at the rear! e to use the car in the front and e.g. not to let the tree that may be present hit the weaker side. And it doesn’t. And I did my first training a month after taking over the car – so it doesn’t work right since the beginning. There have never been any error messages in Vida. Ergo: I emailed my dealer the above description today and asked him to make a short-term bug fix with Volvo help. For me, this is a mistake in e in the security system completely unaccetable!   • Volvo is junk – what do I do now?

  • Alternator defective

    My otherwise so reliable elk was caught. In the middle of the cityFahrt ran out of electrics shortly afterwards, also the power steering which made it not quite harmless. Workshop diagnosis: alternator inside completely defective. Belt tensioner in addition and with working time roundabout 1000 Euro. My elk is top maintained 2012 S60 D3 R-Design 135,000km. Workshop means a normal wear phenomenon. Only I wonder, can it really be? If this is on the AB at 130+ km/h It’s going to fix, of course, but it’s hard to find…

    Hello …today on the highway suddenly came an error message “Decreased engine power” and I couldn’t give any more gas!   • No power supply despite new charged battery

    Hello together, I am completely on the hose and hope you have some ideas for me. Last (extended) weekend I was on my way and my volvo S40 2.0D and he drove without problems. To the way 250km (Do.). Friday and Saturday I drove routes of 30km without any starting difficulties. When I wanted to drive home Sunday, I could not even unlock the car with the radio remote control. The battery in the key was not, because even after manual closing it I thought the battery was over and called the ADAC. When I waited, I noticed that someone had taken the front left flank of my frog apron with me when I parked. In this accident escape, a park sensor was properly sanded off and the headlight glass also had a jump. I didn’t think about anything further at the moment. The ADAC finally had enormous problems to bridge the car. After 20 minutes he was finally on and we were able to drive the 250 km home. I ordered a new battery and installed it on Wednesday afterwards. The car jumped on 1 A and I went shopping. Everything no problem, but 3 days later I wanted to drive again on Friday and again the car is completely dead. Now I have removed the battery again to charge it and save it from the dead. But the charger ze I had ordered a multimeter to make further measurements. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? The old battery could have been over because of its age. But why is the new betterie not empty and yet the car is dead? And why could I drive right after the installation and not now? At first I thought it was just the battery, then I thought, a quiet consumer, but now I’m completely perplexed!!! Maybe you have experienced something similar or have had experiences with it.
