Moin moin! The interior of my V40 year 2002 2.0t stinks recently. There are no hidden food leftovers, dead animals or the like to be found neither in the interior nor in the engine compartment. The climate runs perfectly, there is also no smell from the ventilation grids. The only thing I found now is a wet pollen filter, left and right at the top of the corners. The housing, so where the filter is installed, is also wet and dirty towards the driver’s side, looks like biomass from grass, leaves etc. How does the moisture get there, is a drain clogging somewhere? How can I get there? And how can I clean the filter housing best? Greetings, Thorsten

XC 90 “tweaks” and fiefs when giving gas
Hello, I just registered here, maybe someone here has an idea what it is about. My Volvo contract workshop seems to have no shimmer. I’ll tell you briefly. At first it fell only slightly on the noise. I thought of a leaf in the ventilation or something. Then I noticed that this chirping, fieping .. can be heard at light gas-giving, but only at slow to moderate speeds up to muchl. Max 80 km/h. From the outside one hears it more than from the inside. So ADAC on advised by volvo (should press on call) is called up.. nothing read out, nothing found… by the way, no inspection was found at the volvo. So off to the workshop. So get a call, it would probably lie with high probability at a defective kat, I would have to reckon with costs of approx. 4000€. Good. or better not well changed. Thanks was still there today. Noise is still there, but the kat was changed, there is a crack at the ceramic part of the tube.

Belgium Battle announcement against XC90 and Co.
Hello, dear XC90 Mitelcher… just (around 9.30) on Deutschlandfunk (you know, the station, which used to be a TMC transmitter in the RTI, which never shows traffic messages or only 300 km away ) heard a shocking report for SUV drivers: There you want to dramatically increase the car tax and the fees for new registration for off-road vehicles. If this should not lead to a decrease in registration numbers, you want to block narrow roads for parking SUVs, charge higher parking fees for SUVs (why then not actually also for stretch limos?) and and and… Is it all right! I thought Belgium would be Europe?!? Hope that this won’t happen, otherwise Germany may soon see a new source of arrival… with sorry greetings Björn (don’t we also have Belgians here with XC90?)

Legroom V70 = small car…?
Hello dear Volvo fans, I sat yesterday in the brand new V 70 of a colleague. Finally I could also sit in the rear with my 1.92 m reasonably, without pinching the kneecap under the chin! 😉 I was quite irritated, however, when I took a seat in the driver’s seat. Although the driver’s seat was fully pushed backwards, the rather sparse leg clearance surprised me very much. I couldn’t take the usual sitting position of my Mazda 323. Recently I drove the current golf as an accident replacement car – for the first time the last position of the driver’s seat was even too far away from the pedals for my legs! Can it be that Volvo was a bit frizzy with the front seats in favor of the leg clearance in the rear? How is your experience with the leg clearance in front, if you have more than 1.90 messest? At any rate, this has turned me pretty much over – then you get into a rough combo, and then you have less leg freedom than in a thugly small car…. Thank you for your information! P.S.S by accident – I have the same topic.

Noise of the audio system
Hi! I noticed today for the first time that the system gives a clearly audible noise even at a completely quiet volume. Is that just like that with me? So keys on I or higher and system can be on or off (if a, then loud strength is full down). And the noise is to be heard from the speakers! Further I have leafed in the Hidden menus today and I noticed that the standards of the S80 are different in relation to the equalizer, than the 3,3,3,3. etc. specified in the well-known manuals. Also with you? Oh yes, my system is the 850 (?), just with Dolby Surround Pro Logic And still what: Did anyone get it from you to come into the Diagnostic system via the READ button on the left lever in combination with the 3 times activating of the long-distance light? Thanks already for the answers… Medano C. C.

S80 : short question about the year of construction
Hello everyone, am currently looking for a new used car. Have already posted in the S40 forum because I have found an S40 EZ 09/01 …. But since I would probably decide for the 2.0T engine this is pretty much the only one I found because I want to spend a maximum of 12 T€. (BJ from 2000,max 100 TKM) As an alternative I have now seen a S80 2.0T EZ 10/2000 . Now I just wanted to know if this one would be missing from the year of construction or if there are more problems as with the S40 before year of construction 01 ? thank you

Damage to turbochargers Volvo V40
Hello, my turbo at my Volvo V40 (diesel, 1.9, 116 hp, built in 2002, 245 000 km) starts to whistle at about 1700 rpm. After the sound of the sound I dismantled the connecting hose from the air filter on the turbo and it is very clear that the turbo shovels are damaged. Apparently a part is missing from a shovel (see photo). After that I controlled the whole turbo circuit (outlet air side turbo -> input charge air cooler -> output charge air cooler -> input injection) but could not detect any metallic particles. Everything clean up to a little bit of oil. The turbo can be easily rotated by hand. There is no power loss and also no black smoke from the exhaust. Some time before the noises occurred, the hose was ripped at the output of the turbo (about 10 cm long crack) and was replaced by me on the other hand still the replacement turbo can still be charged and I’m making your EInbau itself. Think, the missing pieces of the turbo shovels can be after the change of the turbo, but it can still be turbo cool?

S60, but which one?
Hello to all Volvo drivers from the Honda group! Have, after soon a new (used??) car is due again, and you should not be brand-blind, also look over Volvo. And have to say that I like the current S60 very well. Only I can not quite decide which motorization, because I do not know the Volvo engines. Soundwise I would probably take the five-cylinder, only beziner or diesel? Test drive will not fail anyway, but I would like to do what if I give gas. But do not have to be 200+ hp. Therefore I would have the following questions to you: 1.) Which engine do you have in the S60, and would you take it again (Auto+Motor)? 2.) What bothers you about your motorization; or what else is negative (subjective for you) at the S60? 3.) What (special) equipment do you have and how are you satisfied with it? So, that would be the most important to me. Since the current S60 is actually built?

Consumption V70 2,5 TDI
Hello Volvo V70 driver, recently owner of a V70 with 2.5 TDI engine from Audi. I drove a BMW 318 TDS before. I have to admit, there are worlds between the cars. The V70 is a great vehicle. The info ́s that I got in advance over the V70 almost all correspond to the information. I am disappointed however about the consumption. Here I was told that the 2.5 TDi does not consume more than 7-8 liters even on a short distance. However, mine needs 10.5 liters. Is that normal or what this could be. Thank you for your info ́s greeting Wolfgang

Volvo V40 2002 Install Phase 2(?) Subwoofer
Hello Together I have already read some topics related to the speakers of the V40, but I couldn’t find an answer for my topic, but at least now I know that I have an active sub … I would like to dive the original active subwoofer against another (better?) active. Now I wonder if the power supply (plug on the left side of the original sub) is sufficient to connect a more powerful one? Did any of you ever do that? Thank you for your help!!! Greetings from Zurich Martin
