new tyres on which axle
Hello, at the moment I am somewhat unsure about new tyres on which axle. I always need two new tyres for both the winter and summer seasons. Had the discussion with my tyre dealer on which axle they are mounted several times. There are two statements: 1. Always pull the better tyres on the rear. The rear tyres are responsible for driving stability. This is also recommended by the car manufacturers. So I have so far However, I discovered the following article on the weekend: Quote: 2.-New tyres should always be mounted on the drive axle in the vehicle. As a result, a better traction is achieved when driving, according to the TÜV. If, for example, only two tyres are to be renewed on a car with front drive, because the profile depth is not sufficient anymore, the old tyres should be continued on the rear axle. The new tyres are to be pulled up at the front. Another advantage of this solution is that the the front tires are the most heavily loaded during the braking process. I would be interested in your opinion, or you have other information about it. taptom, who is glad that the car has only two axles

What does the C30 sports suspension mean?
Dear people, I have also asked this question over at the C30-Spezi-Forum, but maybe there are also some knowledgeable people who can help me. I am thinking of buying a C30 D4 or T5 in good used condition, and although I have now looked at ten ads, tested a car (2.0, R-Design) and talked to several dealers, one thing is still creepy: Is there a sports suspension on the C30, namely one of Volvo (not Heico), and which models have one? So far I have received the following somewhat contradictory information: – all suspensions are the same (like politically correct, but is it objective?) – all R-design have a slightly tighter suspension – you could order a sports suspension from Volvo, whether R-design or not – the steering is more direct with the sports suspension (if there is one) than with the normal suspension – the directness of the steering is not influenced by the sports non-sport suspension. ?! In addition: I like s I don’t like sponge-soft. The Volvo sports suspension could be the right one – if there is. And if somehow I can get out reliably from mobile.de displays, which vehicle has one. Can you help me on the jumps?

Winter tire “buying drama” S60 R
good day together, I’m starting to really doubt the competence of the tyre dealers. I just want to have a set of winter tires for my S60 R. meanwhile I was at three different dealers and although I say what kind of car I have and the sellers look up, everyone recommends something different to me. the first wanted to sell me 205/55 R16, the next told me then at once steel rim goes on no case “from 190 kW only alloying”. then I was today b in the third, though totally unfriendly but again with new infos. now it says all at once I have to drive at least 225/45 R17 ! now I am slowly confused and would need your help what I can drive now ?! in the manual is only what of 205/55 R16 and in the new vehicle ticket is only a mature size … would be really nice if someone could help me quickly ! many thanks in advance greeting Till

V70 – Wheel bearing and now also the crossbars …
had reported that with my V70 D5 (03.06 used bought BJ 05.03 with 120k, now 140k run) the wheel bearing VL is defective and is now changed. As part of the Kulanz (12 mon. used car guarantee) the friendly offered me that I had to carry “only” 40% of the spare parts costs. I have to do the 140k inspection directly with me. Now I got a call that the cross handlebars are also defective and have to be changed. Additional costs: approx. 350 EUR and in the case NO Warranty or Kulanz Well … I drove the car now for a good half year, 20k and now already repairs in the amount of total (incl. inspection) 800 – 900 EUR … starts well As a rental car I have run nen niegel new XC70 (~2500 km) and how to expect it differently … disc at the back left does not close properly = it pulls and whistles, flaps at the front left = it annoys, FB from the Navi does not work … so you know Volvo !

New V70 from when in D.? (no design fred!)
Good day, I wanted to know the many speculations gathered, _when_ because the new V70 will actually be available in this country. If it is presented in Detroit 2007, that doesn’t mean that it is already available in D. in 2007: ams in Sverige means: “Det är nästa generation Volvo V70, som kommer 2008.” But maybe someone already has insider knowledge. Background of my demand: It’s a good idea for me to make a small provision this year. and I would bite into the Ar*** if I had to dissolve the then 2008 and there is no V70 D6 AWD. Nice weekend wishes – de manatee

V 50 Dark Abyssible
Now in winter it is noticeable that our V 50, built in 2011, has a really bad dipped light. It is just not bright enough compared to other cars. Many passengers have also confirmed this to me. Is there a solution, lighter pears or something? Thanks for your suggestions

too little charging current -> Lima defective?
Hello everybody, it’s about the V50 1.6D – BJ 2008 – 130,000km the following problem: In recent times the message “Warning, checking the electrical system” accumulates shortly after the start (sometimes also on the AB when many breakers are on). The message usually disappears after a two minutes. In the connection also messages about the failure div. sensors appear. I then switched on suspicion the battery. After some time, especially now that it got cold again, the M eldungen again until the car was standing one night after a 2h motorway ride (at approx. -2°C) and then did not have enough juice to jump around. At the measure arrives at the battery after the start ~11,9 V and commutes after a few minutes to ~13,4V (without builder heating/radio/light). Does therefore seem def. to be the Lima? Are there other sources of error? Contacts at Lima seem to be fine. Had thought of changing the carbon brushes first when I replaced the Lima If I do, can I expand it myself without much effort? Then I would completely exchange it. Thank you for your answers!

Retrieve steering wheel
I still have a “problem” with my steering wheel. Since it has already brought about more than 180 Tkm steering movement, the leather has become greasy and sticky. Would like to make a new cover. Surely a saddler can take over something like this or? Does anyone know of you near Frankfurt am Main? A simple coating definitely does not exist!

S40 – What sports brake discs?
Hello, with my S40 the standard brake discs have now gone down and I would have to replace the brake discs everywhere. vehicle: S40 2.4 (140hp) + automatic key number 9101-ABA Year of manufacture: 03/2009 mileage: 130,000 km I would like to switch from the standard brake discs to sports brake discs (because of the braking effect on wetness, long downhills/fading etc.).I would like to have the Brembo MAX, but if I look at the parts catalog at Brembo, there is no MAX series for me. r den S40 https://www.bremboparts.com/…/000017819-1 The Xtra series is available from 320mm brake disc diameter. Unfortunately I have 16 inch rims and therefore 300mm brake disc diameter… Can I still buy the 320mm Xtra brake discs and install them or have to buy new brake calipers /+ carriers etc.? Since I only have the 16 inch rims with all year round tires from the previous owner, I had anyway thought about changing to 2x 17 inch (1x summer tire set / 1x winter tire set). w. are there good alternatives? (I have had negative experiences with Zimmermann sports brake discs so far, so Zimmermann leaves for me)
