  • How can I install PU jacks without a rotary stick

Now that I have started to remove a little reperture I have encountered a problem and I find no solution there. I wanted to replace the socket of the upper engine bearing and get the old one out quite easily. Then one half of the PU sockets inside and the second one does not want to go in. I also tried with a vice but this stupid part always misunderstood itself. Now the part is still extended and now I have two questions: 1. Can I use drive the car even though the upper support is still missing? before it was also very loose… 2. How can I get the socket still in there? Does it go with cold (pack over night into the freezer? Thanks for the help….

  • S80 T6 – 4T65E transmission overtake: I will trust myself!

Hello, my moose is lame, he calls for “urgent transmission service”, the error codes indicate the solenoid as a cause, but: Even a while the gearbox turns rough, I have slip in the 2nd gear, sometimes (at high torque) also in the 3rd, and with now 165,000 kilometers on the clock is the conclusion that it will probably not be done with the solenoid alone. Out must motor and transmission anyway, rebuild kits with all disks, belts and seals there is in the US-eBay for 450 $, so I do nails with heads – or at least try it. Worse than having to entrust the gearbox to the professional in the end, it can’t come, and at that point I’m actually already… Here I’ll document how far I’ve come with it. If someone has done the “fun” before, I’d be happy to get practical tips here too – or to hear that I’m megalomaniac! LG Frank

  • Volvo S60 -2.4 (140hp) Autogas BJ 2002 only 50,000km – What is it worth?

Hello all, I am currently looking for a larger (currently Fiesta 2005) vehicle for commuting. I have come across big Volvofan and by chance on the following cars: – Volvo S60 year 2002 – 53,000 km run (recognizable) – stands there like new – no signs of wear, interior leather smells like new – car gas approx. 2009 retrofitted (Prins for almost 2,800,- Euro from the professional) – allegedly 10 liters consumption on average, 8 liters on highway realistic? – New quality rims and tires (Winteralus in addition) – new grill and “Fake 2. Exhaust pipe”, whereby the aperture had to be slightly sawn in the back – retrofitted camera – stapled – judgment at the last TÜV “extraordinarily good condition” – vehicle stood in the garage in case of rain and was brought out especially only on holiday trips (Gardasee) – in the last years approx. 6.000 € were put into the car (including car gas, lack/tires etc.) color silver is not my favorite, however I have the feeling that the r S60 could accompany me (about 30,000km/year) with the good Volvo engine for a few more years. As price the gentleman had targeted 10,000 €. Is this realistic? If not, what could you pay for a vehicle in that condition? Originally had a C30 with the small diesel or Flexifuel LPG in the narrow selection. Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Change main silencer

Good Tach, my good old man has been running his exhaust gas into the cabin instead of the rear pipe for some time in the stand. A Volvo workshop diagnosed after a look “crazy leak and silencer broken – 130€”. I was then in my very appreciated self-help workshop and there was found that actually very little exhaust gas comes out of the exhaust (comparison with other existing cars). An obvious (visible or noticeable) leak in the dump (the Stach) This is why I would like to change the silencer for the first time and then see if something changes. But now the question arises, how expensive should I buy the spare exhaust, 50€ in the bay or it is worth taking the from Volvo for 330. My old Swede is not the youngest anymore, but I care for it and think it is actually pretty good in the shot (came also last without complaining through TÜV). Also: There is something with the change). Thank you as always for your help!

  • Persistent unknown dirt on windshield

Since I bought the Volvo XC70 1.5 years ago, I have the problem that my windshield on the driver’s side is heavily slammed. Interestingly, until the second wiper for the passenger’s side gets there. A picture says more than 1000 words so I attached one. Anyway, this is really dangerous because the view is very limited in the first few minutes after driving away. So what have I done about it: I drove into the washing machine. Mounted wipers from Bosch. I used SONAX washersPolitur intensively, brake cleaner, fuel and flushing water. None of this has even improved the problem, it shows no effect at all. Where does the fogging come from and what could be done about it?

  • Conversion to natural gas: Does anyone know anything about it?

Hello everyone, has someone here already converted his moose to natural gas or knows something about it? I am interested in retrofitters and costs. Sure that it will be much more expensive than a conversion to LPG, but CNG should be much more effective (energy content 1.5/KG at CNG to 0.8 at LPG). With the consumption of my S80T6 a conversion to LPG would only make sense with a huge tank of minimum 100L, otherwise I would have to show up too often with the tank. In this case, however, I would have a You don’t feel like LPG at all, because – I prefer to drive rather than constantly refuel 🙂 Does anyone know a retrofitter in NRW? Can that even Frank Scan? Maybe even with original Volvo parts? Thank you very much in advance and a merry christmas Kai

  • serviceplan XC70

hello, I have been eagerly reading here for some time and have already been able to bring many useful things around my desired car xc70 in experience; many thanks to everyone! at a volvo dealer in Austria there is currently a used xc70 with 115,000 km (ez: 11/2003); question: which service is due soon and how expensive will that probably be?; and when is a timing belt change due? the dealer says only at approx. 160000 km; is that true? and something else: the valve cover seal has already been changed twice (he should have sweated..) and the angle gear (?) has already been changed; hands off or no problem? the car looks optically like new; was certainly very cared for and gentle driving (at least that’s how it works). many thanks in advance for your help leni11 here a short introduction: I come from Austria, drive at the time vw passat, toyota landcruiser and mercedes e; in the past I had already two volvos (740 and 960) ; for reasons of space (as soon as 3 children) I separate myself from my vw and toyota and want to get an xc70.

  • Blis

Hello all XC fans with BLIS, for explanation, this article should definitely not make BLIS bad! I would order it again immediately at my next vehicle! BLIS works 95% correct with me. But unfortunately also 5% false indications: 1. BLIS lights up when I drive on the left lane of the highway, although no other vehicle is behind me or next to me. 2. BLIS often lights up when I drive in the rain. 3. BLIS lights up when the sun shines directly into the lens for a bite l by a reflection etc. I have already received 3 times from the friendly a set of new exterior mirrors (the last directly from the work). Did anyone have such experiences from you?

  • Buttons/switches for the SH in the V70

Greetings. In short, I will introduce myself as soon as I have picked up the moose Saturday, but until then be allowed to plan please One of the things I want to change is the installation of a seat heater. Currently I am thinking about whether I should take an original Volvo, or the alternate for installation under the lining of Waeco … or just the edition variant of ATU. Be it like I would like to work with the original buttons to use the SH. Since Kruathahn from Berlin at the moment probably I don’t want to answer, no matter if it’s about buttons or heaters, I would like to ask you here in the round. In the photo you see exactly where the blind plug is currently sitting and actually the SH operator has to come in. Question: Where do I get the two switches, and do you think they are adapt without stress to the Waeco solution (e.g.) ? Greeting in the round the Tom
