  • Small inspection episodes

Hello After I got my V60 D5 from the inspection, the bill was looked at at at home, and hoppla it was changed the auxiliary aggregate belt at 82000 km exactly as in the year before with 70000 km. the next day it was called it was said that was broken and had to go out. On my question about warranty for this ridiculous mileage, no such parts there are none. and that although in the last two years I have been there for over 5000 Euro invoices at home I think it’s time for a new workshop.

  • Purchase request V60

Hello dear Volvo community, since our inherited car is slowly becoming uneconomical, I am considering a new purchase at the moment. Budget is 15000-17000 and I have been caring for a Volvo for a long time. Since I am now a small family, the new one should also have a little more charging capacity, but I think that a V60 is enough of space (even if the size of the trunk is often criticized). Now to my real question: Does it make sense to buy a Euro 5 diesel or Is this completely insane? There are currently good offers, e.g. a well-equipped D3 (Volvo Select certified) for almost 17000 EU with 65000 km. And what does this look like for me in general economic efficiency? My impression of Volvo is that purchase and repair are a bit more expensive, but the cars have to struggle with much less defects. Am I right? Then thank you very much for your opinions and comments, Andreas

  • Accessories for a V70I

Evening Ask a question, I have seen that there were quite useful accessories for the old elk, e.g. the drinks and small equipment storage for the back seat, window grille/sun protection extendable for the back bench, etc. Since I am always the one with my elk, which is the first to rent as a driver for long distances I found these extras already great, you want to kind of brag with the old elk, and if only with the convenience for occupants ^^ There are still some shops that use such accessories What do you have for your moose, everything that makes life easier for you or for the guests? And where is it available? Best regards?

  • Metallic flapping on the rear axle – and that eats…

When crossing thresholds in the underground garage of my employer, I noticed a metallic flap at the HA. I had detached pads of the handbrake last year – so that couldn’t be it now. Therefore to the friendly workshop. Test drive – there was of course nothing to hear. So on the pit. Wrapped, looked for, everything turned out. And then it was already noticeable: the bearings of the crossbar bushings were partly already disassembled. And after further searching it was found that with the right shaking there was then a metallic flap on the axle. So, that can be a reason for metallic scraping at the HA. Unfortunately I did not take a photo. Now I save on the change of the sockets:-) Cabfreak

  • Which v70?

hello, need your help…I am wearing the idea (already a whole time) to get me a v70 automatic (from 2001). drive daily about 200 km (so almost without exception long distance) to work. what can you advise me, which engine (no diesel!) is under this point of view the most economical in consumption and what does it look like with the maintenance?, since I now also drive lpg, then of course again have to be upgraded. what should you pay attention to in general with the v70? …yes, it has to be a v70 his . thanks and greetings, heiko

  • Germany allergy of my elk or may it be.

I should have known it. My Dickelch can’t handle German patriotic approaches. I wanted to decorate him this morning with a German clamp flag, so to speak. Knacks said there the Volvo disc, about after 50 m drive. Germany allergy of the elk or lack of quality? And if this had happened with the blue-yellow flag too? Monday goes to the there the crack continues to wander. the doxc a little sneezed about the quality – is at least laminated glass. And the clamp only Ku nststoff PS: to the MT experts: how do you sell this to the insurance company?

  • 1,200 km to the Atlantic and back

Just we come back from our winter holiday in Brittany and our XC 60 convinced us once again completely… It’s been a long ride to “the end of the earth” (Finstere): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Département_Finistère But it was worth it and thanks to our Volvo ́s the long journey (13.5 hours incl. breaks) was also no problem. It was already mentioned many times but at this point again in capital letters: THE SITZE IN A VOLVO SIND EINFACH PERFECT”. e in my car vita some vehicles are already allowed to move on long poles / have to and in no vehicle I have brought such a route so relaxed behind me. Also, that we had to cover almost the whole route during the return trip in permanent rain was no problem. And also the first hours at night (we started at 04:00 clock) we got well behind us thanks to the great xenon light with the new driving light automatic. Consumption with our D5 AWD ware n on the total 3,500 km during our holiday with large Thule roof box plus 3 big dogs and luggage by the way lt. BC. 8,1 liter / 100km. So we are looking forward to the next summer holiday in Brittany which we will then (of course again with our XC 60) start with caravan 😉

  • Series equipment Momentum

Excerpt from the Momentum list…Airspace heaters Fuel-powered preheating makes it easier to start, helps reduce environmental impact, and warms up the interior. Start the preheating directly, or set the time you want to get into a warm and de-iced car. With an additional remote control you can start the preheater without having to go out to the car. And if your vehicle is using Volvo On Call The driver’s seat and the exterior mirrors can be adjusted to a position that you can store for you. Each time you use the remote control of the central locking system, the seat and the mirrors are automatically adjusted to your personal position. Up to three different settings for the seat and the exterior mirrors can be stored in the memory system, the memory system, and the driver’s seat. is connected to the remote controls of the central locking system. Each remote control adjusts the position that was set during its last use. This option also includes a manually height-adjustable passenger seat. Can fresh owners confirm this? I read people over and over again in addition to the momentum things we electr. driver seat or stand-up heating order.. would be unnecessary after all?!

  • Volvo 850 Diesel does not start when it is warm

Hello people (politically correct?) The Volvo 850 Diesel BJ 96 hasn’t started for some time when it’s warmed up. In the morning it starts cold; not great and liquid but it starts. After a short ride when it’s warm nothing at all. Sometimes with start pilot but usually the battery can leak and doesn’t work. Roll down on the mountain of the tow > It comes immediately. Previously made: Compression > OK Diesel fiilter > changed glow candles > ge changed battery > New Today we had it at Volvo conclusion : The timing belt and the tensioner was changed allegedly the steering times were wrong. Injection pump was checked and set. We fetch the car pay off 1200 euros (still have the brakes made fixed because more beautiful if braked). Problem persists. Supposedly the starter is too heavy….I never heard of it. Either it runs or hangs (magnet switch) I am with my late in at the end ………… I’m just a cook ….. with various screw talents. Can someone help. That would be nice. I ah then also n schnitzel.

  • XC 90 – no radio and no RTI

Moin together, today is my XC90 in the workshop. Yesterday it started with absolutely bad radio reception – ok, I thought, E.T. plays again on the frequency band, that regulates itself by itself. Usually I leave radio and RTI always on. This morning I get into my preheated (the wiping water tank has not burst by the way) XC 90 and everything is quiet. No whirring from the RTI screen when he goes out and no sound. Knöppscher brought nix. So on the way to work at the front Vida says antenna module is to hell – fits to yesterday. Now a piece of work has to be done. I will report. saluti Torsten
