  • Volvo c30 T5 bj 06 Automatic transmission rinsing

Good day together Would you like to have a few experiences about automatic transmission oil flushing at the Volvo C30. First of all to the story: Ride a C30 T5 automatic bj. 06 186400 km. I’ve been thinking for a long time about a flushing of the transmission but nothing was acute so far. Was however a few days ago with the car on the Nordschleife and after a few kilometers came the display in the Tacho “Griebeöl temp. zu hoch”. That made me already a bit stutzig then… anyway then first A few days later I noticed, however, that the gearbox is in a position when switching from R to D a slight cracking noise makes that definitely not there before. Today I was in the workshop then… The gearbox is in order, but there is a little bit of oil in it. I was advised to have a flushing done. Cost point 850€. Supposedly, the oil filter alone would cost 250€. Find that quite he I found an oil filter at sxandix for just under half of the time.. but would also have to know the exact name of the transmission… Maybe someone can help me further. mfg Marco

  • Wrong oil from Volvo?!

Hello, I bought a used Volvo V50, 2.0 D, built in 2005. I noticed now that there is another oil in it ( v 5 w 40). And according to the recommendation it must be 5 W 30. Now I called Volvo, who did this and they say it’s not bad and can’t break much. Those of A.T.U say it’s sloppy for the engine. Now the next oil change is on. Should I take the 5 W 30 or the V 5W 40 again. Thanks for the answer.

  • Which oil Volvo XC90 D5 Built 01/2005?

Hello, my wife and I have been the owners of a used Volvo XC90 D5 with 163 hp Built 01/2005 (with round tail lights). The car is completely stacked, but the previous owner has added an HC oil (5W 40) to the existing, probably fully synthetic oil (also 5W 40). According to various dealers, this is no longer tragic, but I would like to use the right oil for the upcoming 120,000 km inspection. This standard is available with the recommended “standard oil” Castrol Edge or Castrol Formula SLX (not FST). Is this oil also suitable for the diesel and the right one? Alternatively, I find the Castrol Edge 0W 30 especially for Turbo Diesel engines on the Internet. I have a retrofitted soot particulate filter. Unfortunately, this oil only seems to meet the standard ACEA C2/C3. Is this also suitable? I don’t want to do something wrong at the beginning. Welc hes is now the correct oil for our Volvo? Which is better? I hope for answers.

  • S60 BJ 04 Window lifter pushes driver windows out

What’s that again for a nonsense yesterday on the driver’s side the window drove up, suddenly it tilts to the front and is only raised in the rear, so that the disc stands 45 degrees obliquely to the front out of the door. With manual after-floating I managed to get the disc back in and completely close it, but it still has game and is apparently not led in the front so properly. A metallic “clonk” in the front of the door.

  • 850 TDI clacks and soot

Hello dear Volvo municipality, I bought a 850 TdI with 278,000 km for the work. After I did not know exactly when it was made last tooth rim change or oil change incl. filter I first made this up. 2x timing belts, 2x water pump, rib belt incl. tensioners and all pulleys also that of the timing belt. When changing the timing belt I noticed that this had apparently slipped by a tooth at the previous owner. The diesel filter is still being exchanged So now h abe basically the same noise – a longer lasting sporadic clinker in the area of the cylinder head and when repeatedly turning up a louder clinker from the lower part of the engine, felt driving direction left. This already rusts enormously (sharp smoke). The upper charge air pressure hose was probably defective for a long time, can have formed here already so many deposits, that these dissolve when driving with a diesel additive again or is the pressure regekvetil already added the engine and also the vacuum pump are running very quietly and inconspicuously. The car was moved the last two years only 40,000 km and the last 8-10 weeks it has only stood. The old oil was already quite thick liquid. Would after 500 – 1000 km again carry out an oil change with filter, which just does not solve my noise problem.

  • Does anyone have pictures of XC special vehicles?

Hi together, I’m thrilled by the XC police cars and fire trucks in Scandinavia and GB. Does anyone have sources/pictures of XC70 in other countries that are turned into special vehicles? (Scandinavia and GB I already have 🙂 I don’t think that they are sometimes designed as amulance, but as an official car the XC is to be used for many things … Tschau Torsten – the XC fan

  • Buy S80 2.0T Premium???

Good evening, I just surfed the net for my wife in search of a car and came across an S80 in Cologne. I like it very much because of its bright interior and the motorization. But the outside color is not so much the hit for me. You can find it at Autoscout24 under Volvo S80 from EZ 2001 for 4999,-€. The car stands at a – it seems to me at least so – mediocre “used car slide” in Cologne, company Auto Mobile Cuffaro, Kalk – Mülheimerstr. 337, 51065 Cologne. Now my questions: 1. Do you happen to know this car and can you tell me something (positive or negative) about it? Or can any of you take a short tour because it is around the corner? 2. Can you drive this model for at least 6 years without what flies around your ears? 3. What about defects and rust etc. in general with this model? What problems does this model have? I am a little skeptical about the engine – the 5-cylinders at Volvo stem and if I remember from VW/AUDI. And with VW and Audi in the past some in my circle of acquaintances had big problems with disassembled turbos, through which partly also the engines were over. Thank you already for your expert answers!

  • LPG in V70 – purchase advice

Hello dear Foris, I am very interested in the purchase of a gas V70. Unfortunately, the natural gas network is almost non-existent with us. Therefore, LPG will probably do the race. Now I have some older models in the “eye” and would be very happy if you would post your experiences / advice here. To me: I drive about 35 000 km/year, a lot of highway, mostly routes (easy) about 50 km (way to work). Now I have the agony of choice: 1) 2.0 Comfort, 173000km, BJ2002, 179 HP 2) 2.4, 144,000km, BJ 2001, 140hp 3) 2.4, 135000km, BJ 2002, 140hp Unfortunately I don’t yet know which systems are installed, or since when the cars have been converted. Is there something special that you think I should pay attention to? Newer GAS elks are unfortunately not affordable (for me). What is your opinion on the rather high km-performances? Is there an increased maintenance requirement for the LPG cars? Oh – Buying a car is always exciting! Will you help me with something? I would be hugely interested in about your experiences and advice / hints are happy! Thank you Kirsten

  • Usage (15″) Emergency wheel from V70 to XC60 1

Moin Moin, we are planning an elkland trip with trailer. I would prefer to put an emergency bike in the trunk, as our Rednose elchi is equipped only with the breakdown set. It is an emergency bike from the VOLVO v 70 rim 4.00 BX 15×57, which I can borrow temporarily. Elchi is equipped with 20″ rims. My question: Can I easily cope with speeds up to 40 km/h longer distances with emergency bike or are there like when towing (have car for all of you, all moose and ren(n) animals Happy Easter and a fat egg in the nest Bernd
