  • Would you buy a Volvo V70 R AWD with hand-operated gear with 366000 km ?? From MFK ….

    Hello together… 🙂 I’ve been wanting a V70 for a long time and I found one in the net…. It’s from 1997 and has 336000 km, but runs well and would have been from MFK. The car has been exchanged and has a new petrol pump …… I heard Volvos running EEEWIG but is that also so ?? I am very grateful for hints 🙂 Oh yes and how is that with the maintenance costs ?? I have now a Vw Passat 2,5 TDI 4 Motion and I have read a lot of problems. However, runs the so far good and has 194000 km. What would you do ? Keep the passat or buy the Volvo ?? Gruss Nina

  • Idle speed fluctuations

    Hi, I’m new here and I need your expertise. I’ve searched everything but found nothing suitable so far. Short to me and my car: I, 26 years old and beginner hobby – screwdriver drive a 850 2.5 10V with 144Ps Mj 1996 for two years with a Kme Nevo car gas system. Drive the car for over two years and so far no problems, only the usual care and the usual wear. Now I have for some time, especially when it’s cold outside, strange Dre The speed always jumps up and down in idle mode. Whenever the engine is still cold. Sometimes it goes away on its own after a short time and the speed is normal again. Sometimes it remains permanent, so that only a new start of the engine fixes the problem.   • Brake disc / parking brake gets hot

    After my brake disc got quite hot, I brought my elk into the workshop of my least mistrust. The brake calipers had already 26 years on the hump. So new (Skandix). In addition, new pads and brake cheeks. Workshop set the hand brake as with every car. Hard and 2 clacks back. Result after 20km again quite hot. So at home brake rope loosened, brake cheeks fixed and again 5 clicks off. Brake rope set in front so that the lever at the 3 km clack the stop means. Wheel turned, track grind. Dangers, brake warm. Handbrake when turning off, again 15km driven, brake quite warm. Did I do something wrong? I would be happy about a tip.

  • T5 engine jerks when accelerating, no power

    Today I got the car out of the workshop. On the motorway I noticed that the car didn’t really accelerate and the engine was jerking. I then turned around and brought the car back to the workshop.   • V70I: Rapple box?

    Hello guys, I have to get rid of something here and I’m looking forward to your experiences: I switched to a V70I 2.5 10V last time after 4 good years and 100,000km with my 850er 2.0 10V. What inspires me every time is the steam, which the 2.5er has compared to the two-liter, and indeed with identical consumption. But what bothers me is the quality impression of the interior! In case of temperature fluctuations, the entire dashboard gives almost obscene sounds of itself. The plastic parts of the coffee I found the solution with more screws and less self-destructive plastic clips, as the 850s still had. Something squeaking and clapping always… If I were to drive around in the Allibert bathroom cabinet, that would be OK, but I’m just used to better things from the 850s and the 740s before. H Am I just unlucky with my specimen? Is the V70 generally sloppy built? Or is it because the beige plastic (V70) is worse than the dark grey (850)?

    Hello together, I’ve already read many thoughts and posts and have been looking for a C70 II suitable for me for a few weeks.Due to the summer break there is hardly any new on the market and therefore the question is, should I deviate from my many criteria here and there or rather wait because there will be something soon? Perfect would be for me: Budget limit 16,000 € T5 Automatic Well maintained Xenon, Bluetooth, seat heating, HP Radio Windschott no silver outside It sounds like a facelift version, but I would be happy with a previous one if almost everything except Bluetooth (Facelift) would fit… I would like to cut it off with Windschott, Xenon and T5 -> 2.4i. Could anyone say if seat heating is a big deal and if the rest is a good fit? Where would you like to make your cuts best? Currently in view: T5 Automatik, 2. Hand, 2011, Bluetooth, HP Radio, little running, black Delete: Wind bulkhead, SHZ, Xenon Do you think I find something if I wait long enough (approx. 2-4 weeks) or should I do even more swabs here or there, so that you can find something or look at it in more detail?   • Question of principle: C30 vs. S80 II

    Hello dear Volvo community, with me soon (at the latest in October) finally again a car purchase. I will then commute daily about 120km (90% of it highway) … so certainly almost 35,000 KM per year. Since I am Volvo-addicted no other brand comes into question for me (except possibly Saab, but the 9-5 is too expensive and the diesel is not the hit) – my budget is about 8,000 – 12,000 euros. I want to drive the car about 100,000km. In the budget width fall both older S 80 (e.g. D5, BJ 2007-2009 with max. 150,000km) as well as relatively young C30 (e.g. D2, BJ 2010, ca. 125,000km).My previous Volvos: 2002 Volvo S80 D5 (ca. 30,000km in 1.5 years with various defects – servo pump, axles, fuel pump, speedometer display) 2013 Volvo V40 D3 (ca. 25,000km in 6 months with 0 problems) My priorities are: 1. Engine (permanent) 2. Safety 3. Seats 4. Consumption 5. Noise level Less important: 1. PS As far as I am concerned 1. and 3. I was very spoiled with my S80 I. Had it not been for the many mechanical defects, I would also get another S80 I with D5 and 250,000km and drive it to the bitter end. However, I have heard that both C30 and S80 II have become much better – especially as regards the durability of the chassis. Subjectively, the seats in my V40 II were much worse (normal standard seats – momentum I think) than in the S80 I (leather). The D5 was a horny engine, but also the new D 3 very well went. I am currently a bit in the tangle between C30 and S80: Pro S80 – seats – engine – hp – safety – noise level – durability of the engines (D5, u.U. 2.0D) – seats Contra S80 – already about 8 years old – costs insurance/tax – costs maintenance Pro C30 – consumption – costs insurance/tax – only 5 to 6 years old – handling Contra C30 – seats – durability of the engines? (PSA, 1.6D) – (safety) I like both C30 and S80 optically very well and two-skind os are both very good cars as well. The C30 would probably be the more sensible decision, but I am not really convinced about the PPE-diesels, as far as durability is concerned. Maybe read here jmd. with C30 and S80-experience?   • First experience with D2 in C30, S40, V50?

    Hello together, after obviously the first vehicles with the new D2 are delivered and on the roads (see here), I wanted to ask how the first experiences are with it. Above all I am interested in quiet running and consumption through the 6th gear (speed and current consumption at 100, 130, 150 km/h?), but also whether this engine can be driven a bit more sluggishly thanks to the higher torque than the 1.6d DRIVe.
