  • Cover C70 Attention – costs!!!

Good day from Austria! Exciting topic: C70 – BJ 2007, approx. 50 Tsd km on the clock, 3rd summer season – cover defective, strange noise development, is stuck. Diagnosis: hair crack in the hydraulic unit (an obvious material error), further diagnosis: warranty expired, raparature costs approx.2,000,- material, 8 to 10 hours work… My opinion: There is also a product liability! And the information of the parts supplier: Of course, in this case we have to give Volvo the defective Te This information is passed on to Volvo-Cars Austria: Patzige Answer – we accept 50% of the material costs, they have no legal claim to this, if they want to have the defective part to control, they pay full and basic. Conversations with fellow sufferers: Yes, they are always so un-culant, quite unlike other brands (where the same technology is used), where even after years of material defects in the area of hydraulic cover is repaired free of charge. R esumee: Don’t open and close the cover too often!!! You never know when the next 2 to 3,000 euros of repair will be due – so save in time, otherwise is nothing with convertible! VOLVO – quality that you pay. Once, twice… A poverty certificate!

  • Coolant exits + knocking noises 850/10V BJ96

Hello dear forum the other day it probably did PENG in the workshop and the screw on the drain tap of the cooler said goodbye. Strange was only that the temperature was probably not too high. (according to the description of the workshop) Well, the cooler was patched and I could drive again. However, only about 2 days. Then the coolant came out again. Although not abrupt, but probably steady up to the MIN display of the coolant tank. The patch is absolutely tight. I have in the anh In addition, one hears a kind of knocking noise, which always (threatfully) becomes louder when one starts the good. My guess is that a line is clogged and that the overpressure has arisen. Because one has only patched the hole at first, the actual damage has not been fixed of course. Do you have ideas or experiences with such peculiarities? For all the ideas already in advance a big thank you! All of them…

  • Cooler fan does not run

Hi guys, I noticed now in the heat that the radiator fan doesn’t start in our car. Car is a V70 I petrol bj99 with air conditioning. The air conditioning hasn’t been running for a while. The coolant temperature on the display never goes over the middle, remains rather below. That’s a bit strange, because that’s how it is in the traffic jam, the temperature doesn’t have to go up there if the fan doesn’t run?. Temperature goes relatively quickly after 3-5km to just below the center. Heating is running, cooler hoses are all warm as well. How do I best check what it is or what can I replace? Or can I somehow connect the fan so that it runs permanently? Would be better than not at all.- Greeting Carni

  • Interested in the 850 – which engine?

Moin, think about getting me a 850 station wagon. What you’re reading is real long-term cars, which you can also buy with 280,000km on the clock and then drive for a few years. Little rust, extremely stable technology, even the exhaust system should last almost 10 years… Since I’m more of a suitable type, I place more value on reliability and lower consumption than on full boost at speed 200… So it’s clear that a turbo is out of the question. Which engine i The 2.0l with 125hp or the 2.5l with 145hp? Does one of these two DOHC five-cylinder weak points? I would be grateful for your tips and experiences with your 850s! LG histomatic

  • Immobiliser

Good morning, someone has – in another forum – claimed that the electronic immobilizers (these terrible things that disqualify my elk as an escape vehicle in bank robberies) are “…to crack an experienced carcracker in less than 3 minutes”! Apart from the question of which “experienced carcracker” wants to steal a 16 year old 850 – is that true? I wish you all a happy, sunny Easter PS: I don’t want a recipe – just want to know if it True

  • Will return V70

Hello, I’m looking for a stay again after a V70 2.5 d switch. Only all the vehicles I’ve longed for have a fancy mileage (was out of the favorite check booklets when you call at the workshops) I wanted to know, however, if it is possible to get the leaching power of the vehicle (since Schekheft and invoices are not always available), I always hear different opinions, but most say the e I have to say that by now I have been quite shaky, that almost 100% of the Volvos I have seen have changed the running performance!!! Slowly you are really inclined to Paraneua!! 4000 expensive for a twelve to fifteen year old car with 400 000 km I don’t want to spend either! Thanks in advance for your opinions Jojo

  • V70 causes high costs

Hello Volvo driver I have been driving a used V70 III 2,4d with 175hp and GT Built 10/2009 since 2013. With now 206000km. I am actually very satisfied with the car. I went on holiday in mid-June. I was barely 30Km on the road when the message appeared in the display “Particle filter full, engine system maintenance required. The car then only ran in the emergency program. I then drove back to the workshop where the particle filter was regenerated. Since I did not have an extreme He said that the injectors may be worn out and that too much fuel will get into the combustion chambers. I could continue my holiday drive, however, because on the highway the particulate filter will be hot enough and will not get too busy. I then drove almost 600km to Kiel, without any problems. I then went by ferry to Sweden and then on to Norway. I drove a total of approx. 5000km on holiday without any problems with the car, except perhaps an increased fuel consumption. But I had noticed it for months. Back in Germany I brought my car to the Bosch service, so that the injectors were tested and cleaned. A few hours later I received a call from the Bosch service that all 5 injectors are defective and I need 5 new ones. According to the test protocol from the Bosch service: nozzle tips are heavily coked, the volume flow not in Order. No injector coding received. I understood this in such a way that the injectors were cleaned and tested and received a new IMA code (IMA=InjectorQuantitiesComparison). In my case, however, the values were out of tolerance, which is why new injectors had to be installed. The whole fun then cost me 240€. The engine runs again great, but the consumption is higher than before. I used to drive with an average of just under 7.2L/100Km. Now I am so At 7,7L-8L/100km. According to a master of the Bosch Service and a car master of my Volvowekstatt, the engine should not have run with these defective injectors at all. However, as I said, I drove without problems 5000km on holiday. Odd or? I hope that there will be no major repairs in the near future. Despite all this, this is a great car with a powerful motor, with plenty of space, very comfortable on long journeys.

  • xc90 windshield torn

Hello, during the last motorway ride (about 130 km/h) a small stone on the windshield must have hit in the middle of the area above the bond on the A-pillar on the side of the side of the road (have not noticed anything at all, neither seen nor heard). Initially, during the ride, as if out of nowhere, the disc slowly starts to tear from the right, crosswise to unhazardably into the middle. I thought I did not trust my eyes, since I did not trust the impact. After I had stopped totally shocked to calm down, I then saw that a lot of 1-2mm big impact was seen. Is the front window of the XC90 so under tension after the bonding so much that it is tearing away by such a small impact? My owner says it is clearly my fault, he could not do anything. If the impact were to happen in the middle of the disc, it would have remained completely, (which is purely physical to me). If someone has experience, if something like that has happened more often, there are already culling rules? How much does an exchange of the disc cost, what are the consequential problems (because of the rain sensor etc.) I am grateful for any opinion!

  • Acceleration after stop ACC

Hello. I only have my XC60 for 2 days and like to use ACC or Pilot Assist. What I don’t like is that the acceleration after a stop is so slow, that you definitely have to give yourself gas, so that you don’t get any trouble with the following vehicles. Is that also so with you? Another problem are standing vehicles. The ACC does not seem to recognize these and does not slow down. With my previous X5 year 2014 this worked, even if late.
