  • Conversion E2 to Euro 2 not possible because of gas system?

Hello people, with my recently acquired Volvo 850 2.0 10 V (“Italy version”, retrofitted with gas system, I received the following answer on request from the Volvo customer service for the conversion from E2 to Euro2: “…Unfortunately your Volvo is retrofitted to operation with liquefied petroleum gas. Against this background we do not have any documentation on the exhaust gas behaviour of your vehicle and for this reason we cannot issue a certificate for the possible re-encryption. Your understanding. …” I’m used to a lot, but where’s the point? Should I take out the gas system now, re-encrypt it and install it again? Or could I do an exhaust test at the TÜV? Has anyone ever had this case before, what could I do? Greetings ytcruiser

  • Terrible crash in the automatic transmission

Hello guys, it’s embarrassing for me and I could slap my ears for so much stupidity. When driving after the ATF change on my V70I 2,5 bi-fuel, year ’98, I gave gas in the stand with the brake kicked, the lever on D. After a few seconds the flow of force would suddenly be interrupted, with a rather terrible, cracking, rattling noise. I took away gas directly and switched to N. After that again on D and could continue normally. Since then I have been about . 400km driven and everything works well. Except that twice during this time I switched off the gearbox after the acceleration and then took away gas only very reluctantly again. Switching down while giving gas or kick down works perfectly. Today, however, the same thing happened to me again, just because I gave strong gas when starting up. This time the noise was similar, but not so loud, because it was not such a high moment as the first time. What could d have I broken a lot now? I would be grateful for answers. Please don’t ask me why and why. It’s really idiotic. Greetings, Falko

  • 328,000 with a clutch!?

Moinsen, crass about what you think about a boring Hausmann Sunday I know that there is no general durability specification for couplings, this is dependent on driving mode and especially on the starting skills of the respective driver What I’m surprised about is that I don’t have any documentation about a clutch replacement and on the other hand it doesn’t look like the gearbox has been separated from the engine! The point is, my T5 has 328,000 on the Uh r and the clutch has been completely inconspicuous the last two years, clean, does not pull and does not slip! Can it be that it is actually the first clutch? If yes, we can make a competition out of it (Sorry dear Schaltfaule ) Greeting Johnny EDIT: I was only surprised because I know so many NON-Volvo drivers who had to make the clutch at the latest at 200,000

  • Tyre pressure control system in the Volvo XC60

Have you ever read anything about an optional tire pressure control system? Is there any such thing at all with Volvo? If yes how does it work? Greetings A waiting XC60 buyer

  • Help constantly lacks cooling fluid..

Hello everyone, we are soon desperate here. Our Volvo V40 T Di Bj. 2001 Km-stand: approx. 256 000 constantly loses water, nowhere else is there to see water, so it can not lie on a leaky pipe, let’s think. The cylinder head seal was made only 3 months ago. The workshop took out the thermostat, because it has gone constantly in the red before and the fan front was permanently on, even after we turned off the car he ran still after. Jetz t is thermostat outside, today he went up on the highway again in the red. We had the engine off, there was the balance tank half full, however at the start of the car the tank was empty, you could see it correctly how he had sucked in the water. If we drive e.g. highway he pushed Wassr out, always piece by piece.. And where he went as said in the red and the red lamp already started the Volvo went down with the gas by itself, he got slower and slower, the gas pedal was like blocked.. We don’t know any more… But since Thermostat was out, the fan at the front is not asoo many times as before.. That’s why we thought it was because, but as I said today, the same theater again.. Has anyone ever had experiences with it??? What could it be??

  • Rattles in engine compartment, V40 2.0 year 2000

Hello together, sorry if I don’t know the correct technical terms and have to rewrite everything a bit funny, but I don’t really know about engines 😉 I’ve been racing in the engine compartment for a while. I’ve also been able to locate it. It comes from such a pole that if you look at the engine from the top between the engine and the drive room is attached. Looks like a joint rod (I don’t know what it’s called. If, for example, I drive down a small hump and then both do not give a gas and not a dome, it starts to rattle. As soon as I give gas again or a dome it is gone. If I have seen the right thing, the connection with this joint rod, i.e. with the joint, is not right. If I press on it with the screw pull and give gas, the ratchet stops. Is there perhaps a seal or something to fix that? Or does it have to be built in a whole new rod? d i still have a question……at the V40 is the interval for the timing belt lt. workshop at 150,000 KM. As I have seen in the checkbook now this was changed already at KM 83,000 before I bought it. No idea why. Does the change now extend to 230,000 KM????? I would be very grateful for some tips and ideas!!!!!

  • Engine is jolting and running out more often… ignition coil ?

Hello, great forum, so first of all to my car 😉 I bought a baby blue V40, Bj 12.99, 1.8 in February and am, except for a few minor repairs, really satisfied. Only one thing irritates me. Normally the engine runs quite calmly. Only sometimes it starts to vibrate very strongly at the traffic light, i.e. in idle mode (sounds almost like a diesel) and also often goes out without any signs (also in idle mode) without the engine light approaching before. I have read about similar problems before, whereby a change of the ignition coil(s) has made a remedy. You have more idea here than I do, so could it be ? Because of spontaneous going out at the traffic light I have not been able to read here. Maybe you can help me ?! Thank you ! Sebastian

  • who drink, who swede.

hello, after a small “impressive” ride my v70 had to go to the workshop. someone drove backwards from the garage and with swing against my elk into the broad side. consequence – more or less large bump in the driver’s door and in the rear door. the b- column had not received anything. clear case for the opponent’s liability. so everything went smoothly over the stage. from to and estimate: 350€ for two new doors incl. painting na, yes – not my debt – a As a workshop car I get a c30 as I wish, because I haven’t driven it yet. I got a vehicle that used to be in the dealer’s showroom, now running as a workshop car and I always liked it (!!!): color: strange white/grey with brown bodykit, 18″ anthracite wheels –> a chic car with a sexy back. stylish really on my wavelength. as motorization the a 2.0 gasoline with 145 horses. well, I thought, that’s enough for sure. but blow cake: I drive every day to work about 50 km, mostly autobahn (a20), which is usually also good free in the area. but, oh terrifying, at a speed of 150 the box became tough as youth leather. since then still to speed up (must be with the thriving handworkers [t4, vito, sprinter etc.] more often) was a gray. despite switching down – every golf 1,9 pd trecker leathered me without problems. no – i provoke no race – they drove so by me. that on the one hand – on the other hand I fell from the belief: the consumption in the “act. consumption”- display at a constant 150 km/h was there a 13 !!! – the car arranged there also at approx. 4000 u/min in the 5th course. I do not want to fight for effectively +/- 0.5 l, so far this display should well go. so without fun: my own s60 2,4i with 170 horses lies there still just under 10 liters (fuel; – in the gas operation then also 13 l, n ur then for 65 cent/l) and that with automatic at approx. 3000 u/min. so, this car is chic without end, but the consumption is unacceptable. do the vehicles really consume so much? achso, the car had 10,000 km down, so should be driven. mfg volker d5
