Moin, after changing the heating heat exchanger, I now have to remove the carpet and the insulation mat in the driver’s footroom, remove it and clean it or renew it. However, I can’t get out the base plate for the left foot. That was also not helpful:http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…carpet-remove-release-loesen-t4412271.html After that – is it enough if I release the front two screws from the seat – what about the airbag (BJ 98)? The spare part at Volvo costs about 90,- Euro and is probably only part of the mat. I just wanted to exchange a small part of the mat. Does someone have such a thing from a slaughter vehicle? Speed does what it wants 🙁
Dear Volvo friends, in advance: I have almost no idea about cars, but I don’t want to make any sense here, before I give my beloved V70 to the workshop and probably be pulled over the table by the friendly 😉 It’s a V70, year 1999 (he already has the newer engine in it), ran about 274,000 km, gasoline with 144 hp. I have been driving the car for 2.5 years. Since then, the ETS lamp has always been on after a few minutes, but according to the workshop no significant dr. osselklappenproblem. And this is the following problem, which occurred a little over 8 months ago, but since then not again until a few days ago. But now for it daily. And I notice during the ride, as it suddenly no longer pulls. Then the speed starts to fluctuate and goes up to approx. 3500 revolutions, without giving gas. This also remains in idle mode. I hold on the road edge, so the speed varies significantly between 700 and 1500. the MKL for the first time after that. If I leave the car for about 10 minutes, then the haunting is over and it purrs again. I suspect that at the moment it somehow draws wrong air or is somewhat jammed somewhere. I have already read about the possibility of a defective or dirty idle control. I would be happy if someone had further ideas so that I do not have to have to exchange all the parts in question in the workshop. That is the old one. thanks and warm greetings!

Front passenger door trim
Hello together… I just noticed that the decorative strip on the passenger door has loosened something. Since it is in the front part, it is jammed and I can not open the door completely anymore. How is this bar fixed? With clips? How can I get it fixed again?! VG Bird

v70 2.4D – Timing belts themselves changed, punitive work!!!
Yesterday I changed the timing belt with water pump and all associated side belts as well as tensioning rollers myself. For this I had ordered the new V70-Diesel book from Haynes from England. Everything became good, but honestly I had imagined this easier. Unfortunately I did not have a stage, therefore everything from the floor. When the upper engine bearing was removed the engine slid down. Then I caught the whole with a jack and a board under the oil tank. The biggest problem, however, was the place. Extending pulleys and tensioning rollers is the madness. I don’t even have thick hands! The coronation was then the water pump. The old one went out, somehow, but the new one should of course be installed without damage. There was only this one way from above and I certainly took half an hour. Finally I had forgotten a screw for the belt protection, but the pulley on the crankshaft was already again f est. I had tried everything, but no chance to put the screw on without further dismantling of the belt disc. In the end, there were some more things that made the whole thing a bit difficult. It took me 10 hours until the engine ran again.

Installation of custom-made automotive faux leather seat covers
Since I could never make friends with my fabric seats with torn faux leather sidewalls, I was looking for a solution to the dilemma. The prices for Volvo original covers are unacceptablely expensive… Finally I found here:https://designbege.de/product-category/car seatbege/volvo/ and thought to myself, you risk that now just once. Delivery time 2 months (they are still made original Volvo cut patterns!), price 340€ for my version (the covers may can be designed as desired (colors, patterns, seams, material). Here are some impressions of the old state:

a lot of “waste” on used XC90?
Hello together, the family plans to buy an XC90. 20,000,- to 25,000,- €. 7-seats for 4 children and dog 1.) On site at the BMW dealer a 01. 2004er T5 with 75,000 km for 19,000,- €. Too expensive if the angular gearbox (yet) was not made and the large climate maintenance is pending, right? 2.) We then tested an Ocean Race D5 from 02.2006. The price was 22,000,- € approx. The car shows several error messages: a marten allegedly destroyed an ABS sensor cable. 3.) We drove a white T5 with 90,000 km and hand-operated from 10.2006. The circuit was between the 1 and 2 gear quite used to. The car was otherwise good to drive. Only below you have seen that the car in the Allgäu was allowed to spend 2.5 years open and was not treated very lovingly: rust on various chassis parts, cathedral bearings, exhaust and at the 4 “Bockpoints” additionally z The 2nd cathedral camp had a lot of play for this. A hail damage had been repaired. Meager equipment and 3,000,- Euro over ADAC price. What do you think? is the white blender solid and stable despite little care and rusting: or better keep your fingers off it? Mobile: Volvo white XC 90 2.5T 7-seater Kinetic, Navi, Xenon for 22.990 in Stuttgart, previously driven in Kempten G soot Manuel PS: The 850 TDI is sold with a heart not yet 200.000 km.

Service costs XC60 in Switzerland / Free service?
Hello dear forum a question to the XC60 drivers in Switzerland. Volvo offers under the label “Swiss Premium” various free services – free service up to 150 000 km or 10 years – warranty up to 150 000 km or 5 years – wear repairs up to 150 000 km or 3 years I would like to know about experience values and the “small print” from practice. – How high are the costs for the regular annual service on average? – Which part of this is really low by “Swiss Premium” I would be very grateful for a few practical examples. I am checking whether I should buy or import an XC60 Momentum D3 / D4 here in Switzerland. When importing I have “only” the 2-year factory warranty. If I drive the car for 10 years, the service costs already play a role. Addition: my driving performance is about 8000 km / year, half short distance, half long distance Thank you, Peter

Total failure – leftover Volvo
Hello all like-minded, I stayed yesterday with my Volvo C 70 convertible, 2.0 Turbo (120 kW), model year probably 1999, EZ. May/2000, hand switch, 256000 km. Suddenly different warning lights (light (display left), ABS, brakes, and at least one more (all in the display right). Shortly afterwards, while driving on the highway at about 120 km/h, the speedometer went to the lower stop (zero) and the rev counter at idle. the engine was still running. I was able to save myself to the standing track by a heavy transport convoy on the right lane. The engine was still running idle, but did not react to the accelerator pedal. After the ignition was switched off, the engine stopped running. ABS control unit was soldered in the past after occasionally the ABS and brake control light had been displayed. Cooling water in the housing of the thermostat was changed after the CO content was always too high. I mean to the above mentioned problems in the past to have read something in this forum. Unfortunately I can not find the suitable search words and the corresponding topics.

Stand gas drops in idle mode and Lambda probe symbol leans on to light up.
Volvo 850 144PS petrol 1996 Switchcar Hello, Elch Schwarmwissen asked. My Volvo always starts reliably, but if I let him run a while in the stand gas, after. about 2 to 5 minutes the standgas down and the engine goes off. If someone has a tip on what that might be. Thanks
