Hello, I’m thinking about leasing an SUV from the blow of a Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD, ML 320 CDI or the like. I also came across the XC90 D5. Visually and of quality and comfort without any doubt. But how about the engine that has significantly less engine capacity and a little less power compared to the other diesels in this class. Can someone help me with this P.S. Would also like to pull a caravan. Thanks in advance Jürgen

Water in the footroom of Volvo V70I passenger side
Moin together, I found in the footroom passenger side front and back water the carpet was already pissing. So carpets out, insulation out and dry made. I now found that the water comes from a hose that ends in the middle tunnel. I also took a picture, one can tell me what this is for a hose and whether this can be the problem. I would be very pleased about a feedback.

Engine’s running out of gear.
Dear people. Even when I am on holiday, I am probably in my head too often with my Volvo. Well. In any case, sometimes you hear fleas coughing. It runs great for now. Only when the engine is turned off so rough. But it starts very well. On D and R it also vibrates more than usual in the stand. On P is quiet. But that’s the way it has been since the beginning of September. At first I thought the upper engine bearing is over the Jordan again, but no. It’s also new, like all the other bearings in the front. Any idea? Don’t hope it’s the gearbox?

V 70 with roof damage, what now???
V 70 with roof damage/V 50? Hello, my V 70 D 5 (185 hp) Momentum has a roof damage since yesterday 18.38 clock (storm) and indeed from a railway bridge a marauded concrete part (15x8x2.5) of a rusted A-iron fell on the roof. Is probably first on the right roof rail (mackerel) and then on the roof fell (1 a little deeper scratch and several small in the radius of approx. 25 cm. After accident report at the police, this morning to paintr, cost vo The entire roof sky must be removed from the roof rail and the tailgate. I get the Kriiiiiiiiiiiise, especially since my V 70 is otherwise absolutely fault-free at now 33,800 km in 12.5 months. The only thing that bothers me for a few days is squeaking like from an old sofa, when the car springs in the rear after driving over a hump seems to come from the rear right. If I have to look at the trunk again, then the spare wheel for air testing was removed at the 30,000 as well as the luggage floor, maybe there has been a shift??? Think now, whether I should buy a new car and have thought about the V 50 Edition Diesel (136 hp), which would cost with some extras (XENON, leather, met. etc.) 32.900 €. For the V 70 I get then 29,000 € (currently in payment-pre-payment) for V 50/V 70 at Volvo). A new V 70 Edition Comfort would cost almost 40,000 €, additional payment 9.700 €. I’m not sure what to do now. What do you think about it??? Greeting, cruiserland

ATE PowerDisc: Experience at S60
Dear friends, with my S60 (65,000 km) there is a brake disc change. Since I drive only the most necessary with my elk in winter, the brake discs are rusted and should be renewed before the next check (in Ö the “Pickerl”. Now I have found this ATE PowerDisc with the indication that the corrosion protection remains on the disc. This would be of advantage in my case. Also the other points on the homepage of ATE would be for a decision of this brake disc My question to the round: Are there already experiences among the VOLVO drivers with these brake discs, or from other brands, or is the original brake disc the best.

x5 2006 against xc90 2005
moin, moin, zum gleich Tretten an xc90 my2005 (02/2005) und ein x5 2006 (09/2006).I don’t want to go into the quality problems of the xc90 as far as it goes, since the x5 still didn’t have time to reveal its quality weaknesses. test track was stade (at hamburg) bern, which is known to be in Switzerland. I have mastered the track with both cars and want to give an intermediate report. 1) motor/gear transmissions. the comparison is uneven, since the xc90 is a switch. w At that time, however, we had deliberately decided for a switch, because the automatic system was too sluggish when we started. the 3 liter diesel in x5 convinces compared to the 163 ps diesel of the xc90. here, despite the chip, the xc90 clearly can’t get any points. also the automatic system of the x5 doesn’t have the drive weakness. what makes the motor of the x5 significantly gain is its greater agility in the range between 120 – 180 km/h. here it makes much more fun. 2) seats here there is a clear undecided. the bmw seat has more sideways and it took longer until I had found a good sitting position. but on both seats you can cover very good long distances. a goody of the x5 is the electric steering wheel adjustment, which is stored with it. but still undecided. 3) suspension my x5 has the sports suspension in it. this makes the car look good after all. This is good in the kassler mountains, because it is better in the curves. but cross joints are passed more clearly on to the drive. here I can not say for myself who has won, that the coming kilometers will decide. 4) navigation/radio this point goes very clearly to the xc90. one part has the x5, I could not choose the loudspeaker system any more, so is only the standard system with cd changer in it. bad here is that the change r in the case room is. also the position of the navis in volvo is much better. if you are used to the control over the steering wheel, the grip to the turnknoff is a step backwards. also I find the volvo radio more intuitive to operate. the card position of the volvo is a mile stone opposite the bmw. also I find that the radio in x5 is too far away from the driver. my reference is that the bmw in the motor has the nose quite clearly ahead. this diesel would stand very well for the xc90. Unfortunately, I don’t see any improvement on the horizon at volvo. when it comes to operation, volvo is very clear in the front. volvo is always able to make complex technology intuitive to use. I can only decide about the winner of the material quality in one year.

Collectable thread for stickers
Moinsen Herd! First of all: BITTE KOMPLETT AND AufMERKSAM READ! Some time ago I had the idea in the TÜV thread of the Dieter to have a few (bitge) stickers made. Volvo doesn’t get really warm
Hello again… great that this works so well with the forum. Now I noticed something else with my Volvo. Again the data: 850 2,5 10V, year 3/94 and 196tkm I drove 140km highway at -3C outdoor temeperature. I noticed that the temperature indicator is almost not moving at all…In the interior it gets warm, but normally the display should go further higher when driving on the highway and the interior should heat up properly. the city, the needle moves and the car gets warmer, although the display only goes just above the first line, but when driving on the highway it even falls under the first line. Is this normal? An acquaintance of mine drives the 940, which has the same problem. Is it the thermostat? He does not lose water, are also no bubbles in the balance tank.

Traction problems XC90
Moin moin, I have a question about the all-wheel drive from the XC90. I, or mostly my wife, drive an XC90 2.5 T Geartronic Mj.2007. Since the car is rather a cruiser than a racer, I have hardly noticed the described situation so far. That the XC90 in normal operation is a front-wheeler and the rear axle only switched on if necessary, was actually known to me. Our car, however, behaves somewhat in this regard in my opinion. the front tires turn fully through until after a few tire turns the traction control intervenes and the performance controls away. When I tried yesterday how this behaves when switched off, the tires turned off in 2 gears until the switching process, a force distribution to the rear axle was not noticeable. The all-wheel typical “road catapulting” goes completely off our car, and fast start is rather embarrassing, since the car this usually with loud tire quilts evenly A few months ago, the automatic transmission was changed, which might be related to it?? It can’t actually be on the tyres, as these are new (Conti UHP 235/65R17). So my question is whether any of you have had similar experiences. MfG
