Hello municipality, drive now already the second XC90 – first summum now R-design with Cumulus and Heico. Now I was once again at the dealer and asked what new there is on the XC 90 front. Statement : Until the expiry of your contract ( June 2014 ) there is the new one. The Chinese are stronger – development is faster since there was already a basic development – motor 240 hp targeted ( 5 or 6 cylinders ? – no idea ) Now I want to hear again new from the rumor kitchen – than o starts! Very strange problems with steering
Hello together, since I have arrived at the end of my Latin, I present here my problem, which I find so puzzling that I simply hope that one of you can solve it. So: I drive a Volvo V70 ( 1998 ) TDI. In autumn last year my steering deteriorated and I thought maybe the servo oil is finished or the pump is gone. However, the typical noise development was missing. The deterioration in steering behaviour turned out to be like folg t dar: I started with best steering behaviour and after about 30 minutes of road I gradually had the feeling that I always steered against a strong resistance, at first especially in long curves, in the further course then basically and at all speeds. To describe the type of resistance: When driving it was always as if I was overturning or spanning a clockwork. Quite strange. Well, so I’m the screwdriver of my trust. t everything apart (cleaning servo pump, steering gears, replacement of the attached crossbars front, replacement of the servo oil, as this was foamy for some reasons). After that everything was nice, although a massive error was not apparent for him. A month later: everything again from the front. Again replacement of the servo oil. No effect. Then replacement of the servo pump and container: no effect. Then (my account was increasingly empty) replacement of the steering gear. Finally better, without d if my screwdriver – which I think is really good, reliable and trustworthy in itself – would have found a recognizable mistake/damage somewhere at all. But: Now (the exchange is about 3 weeks ago) I have the feeling that it is getting worse again. In order not to have to think myself completely crazy now, it would be nice if someone could give me a tip here about what the phenomenon could have to do with. Many thanks in advance, Wolfgang

Tüv to older vehicles.
Hello dear friends of the old vehicles. I have already read some articles in the “Oltimer Markt” about Tüv practices (minor ratings) and would like to hear your opinion about it. I myself drive an old Volvo 850 bj 96. I have been driving to the TÜV almost always a second time because of e.g. rusted brake discs or other small stuff. Is not in principle so dramatic?!….but still sometimes annoying. P.s. But this should not become a thread for old gammel carts. I think it is very good that we have relatively reasonable cars on the roads in Germany. How is it going with you?

2.5 144 PS Fenix? no gas
Hello together, now I have to open my own thread slowly, after I have already searched for a lot and also asked short questions. The following scenario, 2.5 10V 144 PS automatic bought with almost two years TÜV, 145,000 run, as far as very well maintained condition, but: – The car takes on virtually no gas, acceleration only possible at snail speed, idling O.K. rather low, easy shaking after the warm-up phase, cold start O.K. – What I have done already: I h abe the impression that the car is running too fat, there are now no errors (motor control unit), sitting dog sleeps. I can’t get into the ignition control unit via a flash box, maybe a cause? Where is the ignition control unit? How can I proceed now, can a clogged cat be the cause, although the engine control does not light up? Can the automatic transmission have any influence? As I said, I could still test my other Volvo sometimes But I don’t know how I’m going to make sense anymore. I’m counting on you guys Frank.

Buy tip, think about buying a 850 or V70 station wagon
Day together, it has to be a new station wagon, my old Passat looks little handsome and now has about 350,000 KM down. Since I want a real station wagon, my neighbor drives a V 70 station wagon, I have now, after consultation with the finance minister, taken a 850 or V 70 into the short choice. Now there is no more this brand in the car sector. What is the supply of spare parts and the number of capable workshops in the area of Cologne-Bonn? What should I do besides the usual topics like La The engines are identical, the petrol engines are 5 cylinders… a diesel is more likely to fall out because of my modest driving performance of approx.6000 to 7000 KM a year… Gruss Dirk

Cylinder head gasket? Volvo 850 T5R
Good evening, I have a question regarding cylinder head gasket. My favorite is ticking something A few weeks ago I noticed that he has a cooling water loss. (The symbol started to light while driving, despite several times refilling..) In addition, there was an extraordinary amount of pressure on the container. I then checked all hoses and found a leak in the water hose from the cooler to the thermostat. Then I changed all pipes and hoses incl. Of course everything was ventilated. Then the problem had been solved. 3-4 days later the whole thing started again. Water is getting less from time to time. However, you don’t see anywhere where water or oil is. If I screw up the oil filler screw everything looks normal. ) If the car has operating temperature are d he water hoses are not exceptionally hard. Then I tried to generate pressure with a pressure pump (cooler tester) on the balance tank (0,9-1,3bar) and there was so much back pressure from the system that it threw out the device. And now the question is.. does it point to the cylinder head seal ? Or could it be something else.. Would like to be safe before I exchange everything.. I hope someone can help me.. many thanks already. Mfg Grac ia

Diesel consumption at XC70 D5 BJ 03/2012
Hello all, I bought a 4 year old XC70 D5 with 215hp. According to the manufacturer, the car should consume 5.6l in a third mix. I realize that this will be very difficult to reach. Today I drove the first km (2x10Km) highway and some city (2 ampelstops). So the engine was warm. The boron computer now shows a cut-through consumption of 10litres. Can be that. I drove absolutely human. He car stood 4 months at the dealer. He has 80tkm and makes a very well-kept impression. A customer service was also made new. Oh yes, and the car has start-stop automatic. Actually, he should go out after uncoupled at the traffic lights, but he doesn’t. Who can help me? Greet Tom

Clutch in V70 III defective after 80,000 km
Hello guys, I recently had a passing clutch in the V70 III D5 year 07/2009. Car was driven only on long distances and gently. At my “old Sweden”, a V70II D5 it was still ok after 385,000 km. Now at the new and greatest possible protection she says goodbye with 81.000. Has only started the soot particle filter cleaning cycle to reach through, 6th gear, mountain high with 1800 rpm. Now, 2,000 km later she did it just like that. Had already noticed, since ss the pressure point comes later, but I didn’t think anything about it. According to the travel book, 40,000 km of highway are included, without a single switching process. Has anyone ever had similar experience? I read in the forum that there was an XC60 with similar behavior. The Volvo workshop thinks I should first watch it when it gets worse, then replace the clutch. No guarantee anymore… Greetings Michael

Defective heating
A few days ago my standard heater gave up the spirit. My XC60 is now almost a year old and I had no problems so far. At first the heater only started for a short time, about 5min with a quiet pump or fan gyro, but the typical firing of the burner didn’t come. No error message, just abort. Then came the message via the VOC app on’s mobile phone(“Bug: pre-climate due to necessary maintenance by Volvo aborted”. In the course of the day, “fuel-powered heating maintenance required” appeared in the AI. The message now appears every time after starting and the box takes forever to get warm (about 10km of highway). Does anyone have any idea what the cause might be? The days and nights before the failure it was relatively cold (below -10°C). Could it be due to bad diesel (sulphurization) or what else is going on at the SHZ?
