  • Does the XC60 D4 VEA engine have a diesel particulate filter problem ? NO!

Moin Moin, we still have to buy a new car. The XC 60 is a short choice. It has to be a diesel for various reasons. Driving profile: 2 x daily 18 km at the piece of highway 2 x weekly 50 km at the piece of daily rides in a small town up to 3 km occasionally motorway rides > 50 km annual runtime approx.18000 km With the previous vehicle there have been problems with the diesel particle filter, since this does not completely pass through the cleaning processes The filter had to be burned within 130000 km 2 x manually. But this can also have had to do with the vehicle itself, because various sensors were already defective. Is the XC60 with the VEA engine basically what the particle filter is about, without problems or has to be paid attention to the driving profile? Would be nice if positive, as well as negative experiences with details were reported here. The manufacturers / sellers always say: No problem… …..

  • The moose in a sharp fur or, The winter and my Volvo. 2 brothers meet again

Hello Elkgemeinde. After having snowed with us now, I had to introduce my S 80 Premium A with his brother to the snow Oh, as I always admire it. My Volvo does not freeze in winter, always comes from the spot or when a BMW or Mercedes gives up the spirit and then the envious looks of the people. The only thing that always bothered me was when I lay down a drift and I make the DSTC, I always noticed that it intervenes. r also goes very well with a front drive Nice again and again how good the bi-xenon from Volvo is! After numerous drifts and fun driving I say now really proud Volvo for life! Here my S 80 in the wonderful beautiful snow! Greetings from Switzerland

  • XC90 MJ 2012: Rear Seat Entertainment: Regional code: “Wrong Region”

Servus municipality 🙂 I hope for the help of the cracks here in the forum, my dealer does not know any advice, the search only resulted in hits from the year 2007 – but since then, to my knowledge, the technology has changed already twice. The following problem: I was replaced as part of the guarantee of the DVD player of the RSE, because after a short operating time it ran hot again and then shut down automatically. In the new player I get now after reading any DVD (are all previously in the old Pl ayer ran without problems) the message “Wrong Region”. I suspect an exchange device that was intended for a market that does not match the regional code “2” (Europe, Japan, Middle East, South Africa) usual in Germany. Now I have read during research on the net that the code can be reprogrammed – but that has to be done by the dealer / an authorized workshop; there does not seem to be any freely available instructions on the net? My dealer has according to settings In the “Media Menu” (remote control) run a demo DVD from Land Rover that worked; the own DVDs didn’t. Does anyone have good advice for me? Change dealers, change players, change brands, change lives I include as an option – but maybe there is a simpler way? For good tips I am very grateful! Greetings from Munich Lutz P.S.: It should go on holiday on Thursday, with the little one (just five) on the back bench. And if possible with working DVD player …

  • Stronger headlight bulbs

Where are there stronger headlight bulbs for V70 AWD? In the manual “HB 3” is noted as a base. I would like to install 100 watt headlight bulbs (frequently on the way at night), but find only such pears for H7 and H4, nowhere for “HB 3”. What is this for a super special base or are there other products that fit in there but do not call HB 3? The question in the more advanced stage of despair would then still be called: Can one convert to other base? Halogen conversion is not possible h, says the Garagist. (For V70 AWD year 2000, new form). Who knows advice?

  • Understated engine? D5 2.4 215hp

Hi, do you have opinions about whether you can undercharge an engine, in which you can e.g. the 215hp D5 max 130kmh ride and also otherwise only for commuting trips up to 20km oneway? Abdominal feeling would be with: no, is it good to have reserve?! Weird question I know, but found nothing about it. Best regards

  • After replacement of all 4 Stabis, further prob.

Hello people Ride an S80I bj. 2004 145 000km I replaced all 4 stabistangs today. Outside it was nice and dry and it sounded great again! Until it started to rain. Now it is wet outside and then comes back the noise that I don’t know from where it could be. They both sound exactly the same. No matter if front left or back right. It’s a dull hitting front left and sometimes back right. So I order it from my ear. What else can that be? is really about 99% in wet road conditions. Domlager I think rather less as I hear no noise while steering. Thanks Gruss jimmy

  • V70 TDI: shock absorbers all around, which one?

Hello municipality! I would like to ask the general question again (even if I have already punched some forum members here), simply because I am still unwise what I should do. Km stand 300,000 or more, no idea, used box stop: Original Volvo dampers built, i.e. front oil, back gas. Or all around Bilstein B4. The box should roll comfortable, the original springs are definitely replaced by new OE, because behind already strongly rusted. h, especially on the increasingly bad inner-city streets, feel more comfortable? Deeper, harder, faster is therefore not my goal! Greetings

  • Cuff problems (not only)

Hi, actually I wanted to “just” change the crossbars with my V2 … but then it looked (left) sooooo (photo). And as you can see, there must have been a cuff problem before my time, which was probably solved on the more inexpensive tour. I guess. The gearbox side cuff is OK by the way. Now I have my V1 standing next door in the open air – of which I have taken the ignitions with success last time – and his drive shaft left incl. Mansc Hetten looks original/complete and really good. Now my question: Do I now get a new GOOD replacement cuff or do I better build the (left) drive shaft from my V1 and in the V2? Have I read that you need a special tool to expand the shaft and detach it from the gearbox. Of course I didn’t. And also: can you just pull the cuffs off like that, or do I have to remove the tube clamps first? And how do you get that part back on? With grease(?) and new tube clamps? Thank you for your help, Jürgen

  • Which one of you drives BSR Stage 3 ? (with a 2.4T/193PS Automatic)

Hy, would like to know who drives a 2.4T with BSR 3 and learn about its experiences. Would you like to upgrade to Stage 3 + LLK Supposedly “must” update the software immediately as soon as the Downpipe/Kat/2.5 exhaust is installed, otherwise there is an engine damage ? An update to the LLK system does not exist ?! That’s why I would like to know who is travelling in the class. thank you lg

  • Problems after timing belt change – what to do?

Hello dear people! I have a problem with my moose (Volvo 850 10v 144ps) and I hope someone can give me some advice here. I brought it to the workshop last Thursday to change timing belts, WaPU, tensioning roller and deflection roller, as well as vibration dampers. The next day I was allowed to pick it up and take it back home with me. I noticed, however, that since then the engine has been “snatching” / “nagling” and the performance is very much to be desired. So I immediately turned around and asked the master again on the yard. I’m afraid that the workshop has set the tax times wrongly and now needs to be improved. Now my question about the whole story … What can happen by the wrong attitude of the tax times? Should I look at anything or apply something to the workshop? Best regards, Patrick
