  • V70/XC70 3.2 – Tips and advice for BMW drivers desired…

Hello people, I am looking forward to a bmw e39 525i with autogas. is in principle a great car, which I will also drive for 1 or 2 years… but not without problem zones: vulnerable tailgate, rusting tailgate, level regulation spins around…so I would not buy the successor e61. because the nevertheless has similar and too many potential faults/construction sites: rusting tailgate, cable break at the tailgate, panorama roof leaks or blocked drains -> water penetrates a, vulnerable drive, steering gears often defective, electronic problems… unbeautiful interior… my claim to a car: a stylish, practical combi, with which one can fly, a racing car does not have to be a (over 200 I never drive) so I am interested in the V70 or XC70 and your experiences. since I want to know a benziner, which would be easy to ask for the trouble.

  • Where is the right electric strategy from Volvo

It’s a pity. I’m a cross-generation Volvo driver. But their electric strategy doesn’t fit either with me or with the brand. Where BMW, Renault, Toyota and even VW, almost all manufacturers deal with it intensively and bring solutions and Tesla has been setting the direction for almost a decade, is Volvo still quite far behind in terms of electric drive. Quite apart from car sharing. Currently I can only buy hybrid vehicles and they are all highly motorized and then come up with a CO2 emission of 170-180g. This corresponds to about a V70 diesel from 2004??? A 250hp combustion engine with 50p electric motor is anything but Sexy and a strategy for the electric future. I very much hope that at least the new V40 will be the first purely electric Volvo, but has already become a BMW i3 with me.

  • S60 T5 Geartronic selector lever lock

I didn’t have to tell you my worst Volvo experience at the time. Yesterday I stopped my Volvo in an industrial area, because my phone rang out of time to dial the car again. When I wanted to drive away again I came in shock, engine started brake kick, dial lever hangs on P. Na Supper, followed by engine restarted again against Nothing! It was just nothing more to do. After that I called at the breakdown service, wait time about 1 hour was told me, well what you want to do. During the waiting time I called at my friend, who told me then there was still a note lock under the cover such a white lever. I could remove the cover with the help of the board tool, unfortunately there was not with me this lever. That pushed the Mechanic lock off I could at least also see the start in the climate, but also the change from hand has no effect.

  • New XC 90 from 2009 Contribution in Auto Bild Allrad

Have I bought the new car picture Allrad today. Here you can find a report about the new XC 90 which should come from 2009 ?? According to the car picture also in the engine range a 6-cylinder diesel with up to 250 hp (!!!) offers. Whether it is true -would be nice. I like the styling very well only the rear does not fit in the proportions. Unfortunately no pictures from the interior. Does anyone still know something about this new car ?? Otherwise look and comment Beautiful weekend of Fly 7000

  • strange smell

Hello I recently bought a C70 convertible with the 193hp engine. Now I found out after a ride that it smells strange. (Only outside, from inside you can smell nothing) it smells like a mixture of burnt rubber and clutch. I can’t really define it. After a few minutes of standstill, the smell then vanished again… Now I’m thinking about what that might be. I’ve tried to find out the origin of the smell. The only thing I noticed is the container of the servo oil. That’s all around the lid and the tank seam completely watered. And yes, the oil smells a little bit like that strange smell. Can that be the reason? You smell this biting smell after a ride around the car, my wife asked me from 2-3m distance, what smells there… Ohso the smell only comes after a few km… The longer the distance, the more intense the smell. I’ve made two photos of the servo oil container. Maybe you have an idea, I’m happy about every hint from experienced Volvo drivers Daniel/B.

  • Lubricating gaskets = Miracle agents

Hello, since my C70 had squealed the seals of the side windows, I thought that I should lubricate them. My mechanic colleague said that I should smear all the seals (also of door and roof) with silicone grease. So I did that and what should I say: All crackling and squeaking noises are passé!! Now there is really silence inside with closed roof. Always thought, the noises are just because it is a convertible. Now I will repeat this every 6 months. Vlt. helps one or the other. Dear greetings from the convertible weather Schwiiiz Peter

  • What brake for the V50?

Hello, I just signed up and am accordingly new here, but I already have the first question. I got new Bremdisks and blocks in front about 5 months ago, because the discs had a hit. Well, after 4 weeks in Scandinavia and 8.000km the brand new brake discs have a hit again and it slags like crazy with every braking. I guess just as layman that the discs got too hot. Since this is now the second set, I would be slightly different from the standard discs the third time. My father in this case advised me to turn to Zimmermann brake discs, which should also cause problems on some cars. Now I don’t know what it looks like with the V50. Do you know which discs are possibly to be recommended, which are also more resistant than the standard ones? I hope I could explain the problem with sufficient details and would be pleased with an answer.

  • Indecisive 2.4 petrol engines or D5 (185 hp) for the city (V70II)?

Now just before the final purchase decision, I doubt. I wanted a V70 II D5 with 185 hp so far. I drove and everything is good. Now I mainly drive short distances in the city and only 2 -3 times a month times 50 kilometers at a time. I like the diesel engine and the consumption in the city (but not the taxes to be paid and I drive only about 15000km a year). Now the engine does not reach almost its optimal operating temperature with my driving mode. As I understood it would therefore be useful (even in the summer) to run the stationary heating (if available) before driving. If the question is whether a petrol engine would not be “reasonable” after all… What do you think?

  • Valve cover seal leaks

Hello everybody, it’s time again, I was with my friend today, because I found a drop of oil under my moose from time to time. And look, half the engine protection cover is oiled, so we were looking for the oil source, the guess is on the valve cover seal. Cost point lappy 500 € happens more often than not? My moose now has exactly 106000 km down, and with the 100,000 inspection nothing of the oil loss was visible yet.

  • problems with heating control?

hello, I noticed the following, where I am of the opinion that it can not be normal: during the heating operation in automatic mode (without air compressor) comes out of the middle nozzles as well as nothing at all, only in the furaum. back comes from the b column only slightly cold air, footroom warm. the fan wash is also very loud, because it blows permanently against the closed middle nozzles. in the hand mode everything seems to work normally, except for the b column, there comes again only cold air. that can not be normal, can it?
