************ I already posted this message in the (from 2001) forum, but lack of answers I try it again here, because I think there are still a few more with Audi-TDI engine. Thanks! ************ Hello people, with my V70 2.5D (EZ 10/2000) there is an urgent oil change. But I would like to bring my own oil to the workshop and am now a bit confused what kind of oil I should buy. Unfortunately my operating instructions are in Italian (re-import) and on the volvo website is the oldest guide for the model ’04, where no Audi engine is listed anymore. Therefore I can not find the right information. Of course I want to use a brand oil (e.g. Castrol) . On the website of Castrol Germany several possible oil types are listed. 1. Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30 C3 2. Castrol MAGNATEC Diesel 5W-40 B4 3. Castrol Turbo 5W-40 The edge line of Castrol is fully characterized by the oil manufacturer? What is the difference between 5W and 40?

Volvo C70 Convertible Assessment?
Hello! I’m interested in a C70 convertible, but I’ve read that the dome truss (e.g. in a sports suspension) is an absolute “must-have”. What would you say if a car had a sports suspension and no dome truss is installed. The car is a car from 2004 with 63,000 km. Absolute KO criterion?

Volvo v40 Built 1996 85kw Gasoline roof rail missing…
Hello, I got a nice V40 from 1996 with 85 kw at 225700 km into my hands. The good piece comes from loving hands we look good, got TÜV a year ago without complaint and is well maintained. Runs clean, everything well except for a little rockfall on the hood and a few small scratches/macks. Unfortunately he does not have a roof rail but only on each side three recording points (grey stoppers in grey plastic profile). Since I want to mount a roof box, I probably need the rails. Is this for subsequent installation (without ripping off the roof sky) or is it such a plug-in system…? And is there the manual somewhere to download…? Thank you! …it is my first Volvo!

Lamp change Faucets lighting (ventilation) V40
Hello, I have a V40 Bj. 3/99 Diesel with climate (I think manually, because I can not set a degree number, but can only control the heat regulation). In other articles I read that the lamp replacement should be relatively easy. I could simply pull off the buttons of the two switches (ventilation strength and direction of the air supply). But then comes a white plastic part with 2 “nips”, which can not be pulled out easily. Did the two “nips” with pliers bend a bit inwards, but the thing still could not move out of the disguise. To break nothing, I stopped this attempt. Can anyone give me a hint? Many greetings!

Simpler method to check charge air and turbo hoses
Hello people, after I have now tightened the charging air and turbo hoses in several places and replaced the seal at the suction bridge, my problem with the pressure loss is not solved. Again my problem: When I give gas I hear air escapes like somewhere. Sometimes louder, sometimes quieter and sometimes not at all. The “not at all” is (my observation after) only when the car has stood longer, mostly when it has been warmed up by the sun. When I speed up, the turbo nicely builds up pressure and then quickly walk away from the gas, I hear again how the excess air escapes somewhere where it should not. At least it sounds like that for me. That’s a blow-off… as I said, when the car has stood up, this is not the case (sometimes) but I can’t predict now when everything is in order and when it doesn’t. That comes and just goes away… So now my question: Is there any easy way to check all air hoses for cracks etc.? All I’ve come to, I’ve already looked at and feel like it’s not like a little bit of trouble.

Failure of the display for infotainment
Hello, a few days ago the display in my S60 II was completely off, including all setting options. However, my VOLVO workshop didn’t display it in the error memory. Also the attempt to play a new software (for 80.- €) failed. Question to the experts: Is it possible that this failure is actually not stored in the error memory? Greeting, Gunther

Volvo Price Lists – Collectable Thread (1993 – today)
In recent times, buyers of vehicles are also increasingly coming into the forum, whose vehicles have been bought as leasing backers or used cars. Often, the purchase decision seeks details for comparison, which are derived from the price lists of the respective model years. I would like to collect the price lists for the vehicles of the SPA- (60s and 90s series) and the CMA-platform respectively, if necessary create FAQ-articles daruas and thus bundle the price lists centrally and thus offer a central point of contact. I would like to concentrate on the German price lists first If therefore someone has price lists lying around as PDF of the model years from 2016, please post them here – I will sort them accordingly. Helpful information in the post about note: Please limit discussions on the content of the price lists to the absolute minimum – otherwise the last bit of clarity suffers.

Brake system update
I would like to improve the braking system. Drive now ate discs and coverings. 300mm ventilated in front and 300mm unventilated in the back. There are 300 316 and 336 mm discs in front, after I drive in winter 16 inches no update is possible? How is the conversion at the back ventilated? Has anyone done this yet? Is this noticeable? Thank you!

Lima broken or something else?
Moin, hardly any problem to solve, starts the next one… today a little bit crafted, the glass break sensor changed again, still does not work, I probably still have to go with Volvo again, then seems to be still a software problem -.- however… car stood about 1.5 hours MAXIMAL with open door and interior lighting OUT, so not really THE consumer now… Anyway, the battery was after death… Okay… thought me well, take off help and then were on the way, everything worked out wonderfully, several times between inside and then drove off again after some time… well, then I thought, but now you drive another 10 km of highway, so that at least a little bit of juice is in the battery… Did I think… on the car path up, charging control light went on… SUPER… At home times measured, 13.3 volt charging voltage at EXCELLENT light, at switched light 13,15-13-2 volts… Is it always directly the complete Lima? Or is there still other “main suspect” ? Greet, Hjalmar 🙂
