  • Automatic air conditioning no longer works.

    I know – that was already there!! unfortunately I found out yesterday that the automatic air conditioning didn’t function properly. I set the temperature to 22 degrees on the left and right and on the driver’s side came pleasantly warm air (outside it had 8 degrees) and the passenger had ice cones at the nose because the climate has sucked her cold air. now the question: was the solution a softwar update or was the solution “any calibration” or so ? thanks to you for the help Bildeve

  • Windscreen washing system does not work at the front, but at the rear

    Moin Together, the little one annoys me again. Slice washer is not working, just in front, I noticed now, driving little and rarely. The pump was often not working, but always when I pulled off the plug at the front of the wiper container and put it on again, it went again. Now, I went under the car again, the same procedure as always, but nothing…. But at the back the washer is going, so it is on the lever. Steering wheel lining down and wiper levers removed, opened and cleaned. In the lever is a small white plastic cylinder, which presses on a copper flag and thus creates contact for the windscreen washing system in front. Did I also test this, it clicks when I place the contact, but at the front no water comes out, only behind. Are there 2 pumps in there? You can hear that click on the steering wheel, but the pump at the front does not run. When I operate at the rear I hear the pump in front. Do I go wrong? For the upcoming season is really stupid without washing water. Suggestions? Thanks V40, 115PS, automatic from 1998 with 271000km

  • Construction of new engine

    But if I had had a new engine block here, which is new, has been stored and also got new piston rings… but this has the head WITHOUT camshaft adjuster, so probably up engine number. I have a motor from engine number. With a head with the camshaft adjuster. That’s interesting, until engine number and from engine number are installed various two-mass flywheels. Think that I then also need a new flywheel and Kupplug…. Why, I now make such a head — my engine has got a new planned head, because exhaust gas in the cooling water. Has now still exhaust gas in the cooling water. Either the turbo is so broken that it pushes exhaust gas into cooling water, or the head is defective… Or what I can rule out is that the running wheels have a haircut… then he would have had to start the cold condition bad before, and should have had no empty run again. Of course I still got the “ventil cover” again installed in the cold condition.

  • Differences cylinder head 2 liter turbo, head gasket defective?

    Hello once a question to the experts.. Is there any difference in the cylinder heads with the 2.0 liter turbo motors with variable camshaft adjustment? I bought a head with varialber camshaft adjustment from a Volvo S40 Bj 2002 about half a year ago.. (If I wanted to build up a completely new engine) I bought it for it… Now I have the problem that I have quite high pressure in the cooling water, and I have exhaust gas in the cooling water.. As if the head gasket was due to cold water loss at the moment not…Can it be the Vll of the turbo somehow push exhaust gas into the cooling water… Did I have this head gasket new before 60,000km, but I don’t have the head plan now, if I can change the head gasket directly, I have disassembled it today and found that this NO hydropunch has but normal cup puncture in the various versions…Will have had this head plan before the reparatur, so I have to put it on the head gasket right now, without the others to make everything clean up to the tool… Can it be the T2 with the T2?

  • Drowning while giving gas and funny crazy tires

    Hello dear Volvorianergemeinde! After a long time I actually had no reason to excite myself about my V70III D3, it comes now quite unpleasantly thick. It started with unusually worn tires on the front axle. On the driver side the tire is almost blank on the inside and on the passenger side there is, also on the same width inside about all 20cm a blankly driven piece of tire profile. But round around. So that the chassis does not feel so alone, have, perhaps out of sympathy, two strange noises from the engine room joined to it. It sounds like such a kind of hollow throttle – or flaps. The second noise comes always when I make the car look good at about 1000 rpm and when driving at higher speeds. I had already seen whether there might be somewhere a disguise or a box open or loose, but could not find a nice rest of it. The second noise is always when I put out the car after a longer ride and place it at higher speeds. It seems to be from the driver’s upper part of the engine room and there is a nice rest of it all.

  • new Volvo XC-90-D5 for 2006

    Hello XC-90, Elk community, since about 1/2 year I read Euro posts, since I want to buy at the end of the year also an XC-90 D5-185 PS automatic elk. As equipment I imagined : Summum vehicle color outside / inside : black / leather black, applications in silver alarm system tinted windows sunroof subwofer parking aid rear parking aid front ( hope in model 2006 there will be this ) speed-dependent power steering heater ( free !!! ) It will be my first Volvo and therefore I have a few questions to ask you : What is the long-term quality of the leather ? ? I was currently driving an Audi A6-avant-2.5 TDI with 120,000, which was sold next spring with 180,000 km, and I must say the condition was terrifying, wrinkling everywhere !!! What is the long-term quality of the processed materials ? I am currently driving an Audi A6-avant-2.5 TDI with 120,000, which was sold next spring with 180,000 km, and I have to say that it was my 3rd Audi, when I sold the chip? How do not have any use?

  • the first volvo — speed control?

    hello together, I’ve been reading with you for some time in this very nice forum quietly and quietly. well, and now eats so far: I’ll order a v70 d5 “momentum” as a new business car with a switch transmission, premiumsound, children’s seats, roofing. before I do that, I’d like to hear how your experiences with the speed-dependent servo steering are: is it worth it? I didn’t have a chance to test the servotronic myself, but since the box is not exactly a sports car in itself, I tend to order the seat heating instead. what do you guys think? already nice thanks for your help, cleopha

  • XC70 -> Defected air flow meter -> Cost/repair?

    Hi together, with me the air quantity meter (part No. 14 on the drawing) has been defined as a defect. Only thus no misunderstandings arise: I believe this also to my friend and do NOT doubt this! I only ask for more detail here. The air quantity meter is a piece of wire, which is heated to 800°C. The electronics on the sensor now measures the amount of air that is fed to the turbo by the current flow. The more air, the colder the wire, the less resistance, the more current – or so similar. 1. Is it true that this part represents the equivalent value of 500€? For example, at Dell you get a current, complete Pentium 4 computer or a complete installation stove with ceramic field! 2. Is it true that a damage to the measuring wire is caused by moisture and/or pollution and this is also a typical damage to the air quantity meter? 3. A repair of this sensor, looking at the wire is not possible – it has to be replaced by the entire electronics and the housing? 4. How can one (as a laie, so?) test the turbometer is made longer than a test device?
