  • Is there any experience with CarGuarantee?

    Servus elk friends, have been the owner of a used V40 2,0 T, BJ 98, 125 tkm for a few days. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take the car with me immediately because I noticed some defects during the test drive: – damper of the boot flap n.i.O. – windscreen wiper right headlight n.i.O. – oil loss The dealer wants to fix the mentioned defects. In addition, he has offered a 12 month car guarantee. Unfortunately, I am not the born screwdriver and therefore dependent on a workshop. Therefore my question: What experiences have you made with CarGuarantee? After the brochure a value-related cost refund is made i.e. the wage costs are refunded 100%, the material costs are divided according to running performance (in my case I pay 60% of the material costs). Can I now rest assuredly lie back? What should I pay special attention to in the next 12 months? Thank you for your answers.

  • The old lyre – restless idle

    Hello, now I also have a restless idle run. (9101/820) As a result, this: At the cold start the moose turns at about 1100 rpm. After driving or a few minutes it levels itself under the 1000 rpm (but not often) But very restless, sometimes +/-200 rpm and sometimes until shortly before going out, so that the battery symbol briefly lights up. Sometimes the DSA, sometimes the MKL and then for a long time again nothing. It also consumes quite a lot of gasoline (ca 10,2l combined) and it smells even after the foot tip of hitnen antipunk the problem. (which however is rather rare) What I have done before? LLR cleaned (possibly not correct?), DK was cleaned thoroughly (well, gas kicking or with the foot tip of hitnen antipunk is unfortunately not cleaned up).

  • V90 D5: Problems/Error/True Repairs ?

    Hello dear Volvo community: I come from Upper Austria and have become a big fan of the brand since my current Volvo V60. My current V60 has now finished with Bj 2011 good 285,000km and some “deer” repairs. Since I find the new Volvo V90 incredibly beautiful and already have one in view I would like to read myself with the search function through this forum but still hear your experiences again so that I can be quite sure. The Volvo in view: Volvo V90 D5 Momentum Bj.2017 149,000km Quite many extras like AHK,Pano.,Standheizung,volleder in schwarz, etc. etc. this list is long as you know from Volvo. Price 28.000€ unneeded. Now to my questions: -Is there any problems with these models except initially the loader hoses yet? -I’ve sworn once I never buy full leather again – is really busy in the interior – is there any more?

  • High oil consumption V 70 D3 2016

    Hello, our Volvo now consumes about 1 liter of oil on 4000km. I have to say that it already has about 270 000 km (2 liters with 150hp). Since we are otherwise very satisfied with the car, we think about having the car repaired. But before I go to a workshop without any information and possibly get some answer, only to fill the register of the workshop (have unfortunately made several bad experiences), I would like to know which causes are mostly behind it and with which costs I would have to reckon with.   • Seal on KDR leaks

    Moin from HH, I have been more or less happy owner of a V40 for a few weeks now. Since he starts off badly, I changed the spark plugs and cables and coils and in some kind of fit of stupid idea the KDR bolted to look at which it is. Now it is leaking, i.e., it only drips now, – after it was sprayed out in the high bow before, at the place where it is screwed into the pipe of the supply line to the ESD. I have used another seal meanwhile. (No originals of Volvo, had still one in the appropriate size.) The, which was installed, however, I also saved. Does anyone have an idea like me get it really dense? Ic dare not really drive me at the moment because of the petrol dripping. It is the 1.8 engine with 122hp, Bj 2001, automatic with 1783c.   • Undefinable cracking while driving

    Hello Elk-Gemeinde! For about 1-2 days I hear and feel while driving in my S40 1.8 的2001 (switch and 156.000km) a crack from the front left. It doesn’t matter if I steer in, it springs in, brake or gas there. It often cracks on damaged roads and I can only feel it in the footroom, whether the feet are on the pedals or on the shelf next to the clutch. It can’t be heard only in the stand when steering in, also not necessarily when driving in. And from about 100km/h it is also gone, but I can also not see it anymore due to the rolling down noise of the tires. I already checked the chassis components yesterday (my father was of the opinion that these had to be changed. But still look in order). I have to say that I have a K.A.W. sports suspension inside since about 8,000km. The chassis components still look good! Maybe the drive shafts(turns) I am a bit of advice, but I already thank you for your answer!

  • Reargate does not open

    Hi, on my V40 Kombi from Bj.01 the tailgate does not open any more. Had been hooked more often since recently, then it went up at some point, since 2 days nothing happens anymore. How far can the lock be turned? On my can it turn only 90°. I sprayed in W40 once. Should I then spray some more Teflon Spray or similar?

  • Retrofit fog lights – Help! Double relays?

    Hello I know that there are several contributions regarding retrofitting of fog lights, but no real solution was found for the following problem: in my V40 year 1998 there were already cables, so I only had to install the NSW. My problem comes when installing the double NSW relay (see appendix) Behind the instrument cluster I find only one plug, and indeed the one from the fog lamp, but where is the second plug from the fog lights from the front??? could not find one even after a long search.. do I have to install the double relay at all? does it only need the fog lock relay, a new switch and a software release? According to the friendly I should simply get a new switch and install the double relay without the need for unlocking.. but as I said. no second plug for the double relay behind the combi instrument.. Help!! lg

  • New cathedral warehouses at 105 000 km, broken again at 109000 km

    Hello guys, I had my S40 in mid-April 2011 for the repair of the cathedral camps. These were completely repaired at 105 000 km, now half a year later and 4000 km more on the clock they are back again. It rattles and crunches, which it is a real joy.   • No successors for S40 + V50

    Hello, in the current ams it is reported that there will be no successors for S40 + V50 because is positioned too close to S/V60. Replacement should therefore be the C30, from which a V and XC variant is derived. The XC-90 gets a successor model in 2014. Greetings, Mathy
