  • V40 1.9 D, BJ 2003

Hello dear Volvo-Freaks I am looking for a reliable, economical combination, which nevertheless brings a certain degree of comfort, as I mostly drive long distances (about 40km to work) and I came across the following offer:http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeug/showDetails.html?id=163653073 What do you say about this? Is the price realistic? Does the timing belt count for the 90,000 inspection? Does anything else affect you (positive/negative)? The machine should be great after what I read! Thanks for your help!

  • Refuelling problems

Hello, I had trouble refueling the V40 for the first time today. I plugged in the pump gun as usual, but this stopped three or four times directly again. That happens once in a while and I had always pushed it on the pump gun. I then pulled it out completely and put it back in again. Now what was different than usual: In this process, however, a small amount of diesel (about a small coffee cup full) came to me – felt it came out under the tank inlet, at least not out of the gun. After that, I pressed the gun myself first and then also went “automatic refueling”. In the aftermath, I noticed that the whole “tank inlet” had quite a nice game, but can’t remember by the best will whether it was always like that. Funny it comes to me. In the attachment there are two photos. One shows something I suspect to be a hole and the other shows where the diesel was when it came to me. But the photo is only 20km later after the tank was made. Did you have a tank column? Did you have a tank?

  • Change coolant. Interval predetermined?

In the specialist press, it is often recommended to change the coolant after about 4-6 years, since the additives may be used, even if the frost protection is still available. Is there a service interval on the part of Volvo or is the coolant mostly exchanged with the timing belt after 10 years? Have you already gained experience? Our Volvo is a 2014 T2.

  • Spare parts list online?

Hello together, so slowly my V has become home, we enjoy every common kilometer and I am still very happy about my choice. Here I have read pretty much all the posts and am still positively surprised by the tone of the handling, I know this from various motorcycle forums unfortunately quite differently …. But now to my concern: Is there a page or an electronic part catalog, such with explosion drawings etc? I know this for my BMW motorcycles, realoem.com, where all the item numbers, zT prices and above all the drawings as screwdriving aid or also with the MB-ETK. I have already seen here from time to time to the Volvo article numbers, but unfortunately no link that helped me. Is there any such thing really only Volvo internal or also freely available? Thank you in advance.

  • GSM phone suddenly no reception

Hello, until yesterday the integrated phone in my V70 (Bj 10/2001, MY 2002) has always worked (well, sometimes a bit quiet, but otherwise OK). Now it has no reception any more. That means you can turn it on, it recognizes the SIM card, you can operate the menus etc. But with the reception symbol, always zero bars are displayed (normally so 2..4) and there is no net. At the location and on the network (T-Mobile Austria) it is not located, it has tried several times in different places, and everywhere my other phone has received impeccable. For me this looks like if the antenna cable is interrupted. Maybe only one plug has loosened up… Does anyone know the effect? Or knows where the antenna cable runs and is plugged? Then I could try it myself before I drive cumbersomely to the “friendly”… – thanks & warm greetings, Helmut

  • Reason for oil found at auxiliary frame

Hello, I have found the reason for the oil on the auxiliary frame, the red-marked line on the NEW steering gear is slightly leaking. Whether it’s just a seal or even a material error, I can’t say. The leak is in any case at a point where we did NOT screw at the steering gear exchange (was installed at the factory and therefore flawed from factory). The question is now in what form I can/should and how/if you can get it close!? My hope is that a sealing ring is behind the (hopefully not forgotten) thread that you only have to replace. The line is solid enough anyway, I have checked it. In case of emergency I would have to try it with a heat and oil-resistant seal paste (have already been suggested by the dealer of my trust). I bought the steering gear very (too?) cheaply from PolarParts. I think I will have to do it there. At any rate, I wanted to keep you informed. Greeting of the swede (the one in another forum has got the help from the turbo gear, but I was thinking of the turbo gear at the top.

  • Do I have City Safety or not?

Hello, I have a question of understanding: My XC70 is model year 2011 and has inter alia distance radar and emergency braking function with pedestrian detection. This feature was introduced to my knowledge at the end of 2010 or the emergency braking function with the pedestrian detection. Where is the difference to “City Safety” now? A familiar of me has the V60 with City Safety, but its safety equipment is obviously identical to mine. My question is now: What is missing my XC70 to City Safety? Or did there exist for the XC70 at that time all city safety features, only not with this comprehensive designation? Since model year 2012 the XC70 has yes City Safety as standard, but I can also see no difference to my equipment here.

  • Sensus-Navi “Learning the route” – when?

Hello together, since I have my car, the Navi in Sensus is set so that the route is to be learned. There is a special place where I have to drive differently due to my experience, because in the further course of the Navi specification my path would come across a junction, where it is already forbidden for at least 4 years to turn left. When please the Navi finally “raffs” that my always driven route at the place is the right one?

  • After climate service: climate no longer cools; immediate measures

Hello, with my V70 the air conditioning service was done the last time three years ago. Otherwise it worked perfectly, only the compressor jumped a little often. So I am to a BOSCH service and said they should refill the refrigerant. They did that, it was only 200 g in it, so it was overdue. The air conditioning was “evacuated/filled and flushed” and that cost me 100 € Now, after 14 days, the climate does not cool any more. The compressor runs permanently, instead of turning on and off as usual. There are also quiet hissing noises . How can that be, that an air conditioning system BEFORE a service is ok and after filling no more? Can you claim that or is it hopeless? Was it wrong to go to Bosch? Should I now leave out the A/C so that the compressor does not run constantly (maybe even empty)? Can I ad hocly check or do what?

  • XC90 D5 Geartronic or Handswitch? Experiences and opinions wanted

Hello to each other, I will get a new car in the next 2-4 weeks and have come to the decision: It will be a Dickelch! The basic durability seems to be fundamentally very good, especially with the Facelift. It is supposed to be an XC90 D5 with 185 hp, equipment plays a subordinate role, did not find a car that would not meet my requirements. Now I would like to know directly from the first hand how the 6-stufige Geartronic affects the ride comfort, driving performance and above all the consumption. Annual driving performance is about 30-45,000KM/year, my work path is about 90 km over highway and federal road, the remaining KM come together on long distances, preferably at Tempi between 140 and 160 km/h with Tempomat.
