  • Swiss special designs at 960?

    Hello, I’m not quite new, already had an account in the V70 forum, but it doesn’t work anymore. I finally bought the Volvo, which I’ve always wanted, a 960 combo (2.5/Bj. 95/Automatik). The car has always been registered in Switzerland. I would be interested to know if anyone knows if there were special equipment versions for Switzerland. Because the car has beside the usual chrome strip at the bottom of both sides still an approx. 1 cm wide decorative line (chrom-coloured, but no chrome strip) just below the windows from the rear to the front. Have seen on the internet pictures from 960s, which also have such a decorative line. In addition, at the back of the rear flap below the Volvo and 960 letterings is also such a decorative line plus a very narrow red strip and a sticker. Is this rather “Bastelei” from an earlier owner of the car or was something like that on a possible special model for Switzerland. See photos. Otherwise, the decorating largely corresponds to the “Prestige” version according to 960-model year 1995.

    I’m very grateful to my father for driving a V70 2 T5 with 250 hp. he doesn’t mind that he always has to turn the engine so much, if he wants to skip ect. . at 90 you have to switch it loosely in the 3rd and that might make him fun, but it would also be good if you had a little more NM and didn’t have to turn it so high. I mean, that a chip tuning would be exactly right there, he is not so convinced, since he has never chipped to compare it. also my mama always drives very thoughtfully, but also it bothers her, because before that she had a passat VR6, with which you had a lot more pull on the road, front everything is already in the middle speed range. moreover, also the fuel prices rise and then you have to turn the engine no longer so high? maybe that’s easy to believe. against that would be the increasing NM number and the circuit, which is not designed for it! but that’s a hand switch, but still has to make the ride more expensive, but the ride more expensive?

  • On XC/V70 drivers with mileage 180tkm and more

    Moin Moin dear community, as already announced above, I would like to have the `experiences` of V/XC 70 drivers whose Fhrzg. have higher mileage – from 180tkm. Built from 2011. Background are the purchase of a used one and the question on my part what happened to the owners at the end of Rep. maybe. With the km performance in the short time the engine should still be very good. But what about the automatic? I know, no can clairvoyance but what is most likely to be broken / concealed at the mileage. Is the replacement better than repair. With the above numbers you can assume that was driven a lot of highway. Is that worse for the life of the GT? Everything else on the car like chassis etc. you can see when you check through (let it).   • Camshaft adjuster of camshaft dissolved without locking

    Moin together, I wanted to change my Volvo V 40 Bj 2000 engine 1.8 petrol sucker the timing belt, Wapu, tensioner, ULR… and the camshaft sealing ring (inlet, front side). I forgot to lock the camshaft in the icy of the battle. Doof, I know. . So I released the bolt from the inlet gear with the impact wrench. Except for the bolts nothing moved. Now I do not know if the camshaft did not stretch a piece. It did not feel moved. Nevertheless, my question is now whether I can see, for example, on the camshaft sensor wheel as the OT position of the camshaft is. I have not found any markings for the shaft. Ot position for the gear wheel is clear, but since it is an adjustable gear, this is not fixed on the shaft. I am grateful for every tip.

  • Refurbishment of seat heating ?

    Hello, this topic has been discussed many times lately, but no one could say more precisely about it… My V40 1.8 special edition has a full leather equipment, but (unfortunately) without seat heating – which I would like to retrofit now with ORIGINAL PARTS. Upon request with Volvo directly, this would be possible if the car is “pre-wired”. Otherwise this wiring would have to be done. The first dealer was of the opinion that my V40 was not wired, but the second confirmed that the wiring was available. According to the second dealer, then only 2 switches, 1 relay and 2 heating elements would be installed. …What does this look like with wiring? Is it done with the simple installation of the switches and plugs? And how is this with the famous seam in the middle of the seat, must be locked off the seat for the original heating cushions? What does this look like afterwards? Would the experts among you really super grateful for a quick answer!

  • Transmission flush XC70 necessary?

    Hello together, I have already read a little in the forum – most posts are however somewhat older and not really to my model (XC70, D5, 185 HP, MJ2008). My elk meanwhile has 230,000 km down – the automatic works still impeccable. However, I do not know if one of the previous owners has already made a transmission flushing – but I do not believe (only oil change Haldex etc.). Maintenance condition is in every case very good. TÜV without complaints get. Therefore the question: Does a prophylactic transmission flushing – and what will it cost me about?! One reads of the different providers, which do this – “Lohnt sich”. But they want to earn money after all! Since I actually want to drive the car the next approx.5-10 years and do not intend to sell the jewel, I will let this in each case the next time. The question is only: now or if one already noticed something – that can only be today, or in 5 years. At the V70 automatic D5 from my.Onkel is not made to the gear change today?

  • Navi update – CD/DVD not readable

    Hello, I now wanted to update my Navi SW old 760 to the new version and of course use the new DVD. When pushing the CD ROM with me comes the error message “This drive can not read the DVD”. Tests with shutting out, restarting the Navi etc. led to no success. Likewise he can not read any of the three new DVDs. Weird, with the “old” DVD he has no problems to read and navigate.
