  • How long does your first car battery last/hold before replacement/change?

Hello forum community, my V70 will soon be 4 years old. I had a small ignition problem recently where it was -1°C in the morning – after pressing the start button it took much longer until the engine started. But it was only one time, otherwise the car starts without any problems. Now you often read that the car batteries end their life cycle after 4 to 5 years and you should think of a change before you get problems in the winter. My KfZ master of trust thinks this is nonsense. If you don’t get serious problems, a high quality as it is built in, so 7 years. How are your experiences, when was the car battery changed with you before it has given up the mind? I only ask here for car batteries that are not in use for start/stop, because my V70 does not have this fiction. Motor is D3, MY 2011 Greeting foodtek

  • XC60 dealer discounts and equipment

Hello Together, I’m on a good way to be here soon more often, as my next car is to become an XC60 (10 years with 2 Tourans are enough for me)…. My wish configuration is now quite certain: XC60 Ocean Race, D3 manual gearbox Onyx-black Business package cargo space package parking aid front glass sliding roof seat heating rear rear camera loading edge protection electric folding exterior mirror steering wheel heater Now to my questions: – Have I still forgotten something important (doesn’t have an automatic fan, engine is enough, is still unsafe because of light package)? – Who has an overview of the current dealer’s aftermarket? I have so far several offers that move quite homogenously between 14-15%. The variant with registration as a demonstration car and take over two-three months later comes to around 20%. Intermediators like C….. Would I like to take advantage of it, since the dealer should at least be halfway close to it. EU carriers unfortunately also don’t like to be right, at least if I look at the frequently found dealers. – I have a real experience of using a vehicle like 5.

  • Generator-free run XC60, time, costs, or yet in self-direction ?

Hello Volvogemeinde, My XC60 2012 215ps diesel has a defective freewheel generator. In two weeks I have large inspection however… The local has put down the belt, since his opinion can every moment the freewheel completely goodbye and there could also become dangerous for engine (???) I is a riddle what could damage there the engine, maybe wanted to impress me. Now I got from the man a suggestion, about 650€ for a freewheel, spanner, climate belt. Everything at 3,6h a little long and expensive I find. My elk has around 150000km. What is necessary to change and what are the fair costs ? Is this hard to get the light machine down ? Can you get those up or rather from below ? Am former car electrician, maybe I should dare, but if too much fummelei at bad access. This car drives my wife and of it depends on her mood, therefore guys … … please, helps the poor Greeks ??

  • Volvo V50 T5 AWD driver.. Questions about driving behavior.

I’ve already started another Fred here with various questions (the other questions have been solved halfway… thanks.).. but that with the AWD doesn’t let me go and really would have liked some statements from connoisseurs about the AWD. I have now a month.. before almost twenty years a Impreza Turbo with permanent 4WD driven. So.. yesterday was in the snow (on dirt roads where with my Impreza no problem). Resumee: Half lung ignition and cut hands through foot mats and branches put under the wheels. I didn’t come along. Bauer had to rough myself with tractor… and he also nicely smashed the whole plastic covering under the engine. But anyway… did I want to test something so much to test the 4WD. But by the way I was really stuck in the snow, I also saw how the 4WD reacts.. and he doesn’t react at all! The front wheels just spin through! If I give a strong gas, turn to it… so late? Then I’m going to support it too late? But I’s like that I’m going to do some physics.

  • S60 R – Yes or no? Need tips 🙂

Hello Volvo friends, I have a little concern. For several years I have dreamed of driving an everyday sportsman, which I will buy after my training. I did a lot of research and found some, which corresponds to my ideas. First the Civic Type-R, then the Focus ST, then the Mazda 6 MPS, then the Mazda 3 MPS (which was my absolute favourite for a very long time) and now 3 days ago I came across the Volvo S60 R, which moves on the used car market about in the same price segment, but offers a lot more. Now I wanted to ask you if it is worth driving this car, since I have not yet tried it and found no driving reports. How does the car drive from the feeling and the haptics? How does it look with the running costs? Is the car very vulnerable to repairs? From what mileage does it not pay any more? I found a few offers starting from 15,000 euros, but with a right high mileage. I would drive the car very long, until it can afford to give me the answers, if you can even recommend a car with a gross fee?

  • Kaufberatung V70 Bj.06 Bi-Fuel

Hello dear Foris, I have found an interesting car and I am not sure if it makes sense for me to buy it. I hope to benefit from your experience. I describe the car simply briefly: Volvo V70 Bi Fuel (from the factory), mileage: 129,000 km engine capacity: 2435 cm3 Year of manufacture: 2006 Power: 103 kW / 140 hp Fuel type: natural gas (CNG) )directly installed from the factory); 5 transmission: automatic; first registration: 4/2006; Euro 4. The fun is to cost 13.490 euros. Is the price ok? I drive about 35 Tkm a year and need a reliable car. What experiences do you have with Bi Fuel? How is the supply/network with the filling stations for CNG in Germany to assess? I am happy about your assessments and assessments!

  • Electric worm in the Volvo 850?

To the vehicle: Volvo 850 2,3 T5 166KW BJ. 04/1994 Petrol/LPG Body Moin people, I don’t know anymore, my 850 ran always without problems and one evening I turned off the car on the yard and in the morning started the theater then, engine turns, but does not start. I then tested: spark plugs, ignition cables, ignition distributors and runners, everything unobtrusive, sparks at the spark plug and at the ignition coil checked, no spark! So short hand bought a new ignition coil and built in, unfortunately still everything dead. Instead of blindly replacing further parts I then checked the usual suspicious and on the cam wave sensor the voltages. On the plus line 1.68V, signal line 0V and mass (against +) 12V. So the engine control unit was released and the line from the control unit to the Nock wave sensor was tested, 0Ohm resistance. Then I have to check the voltage supply of the engine control unit with a 100W lamp. Terminal 15 could only be measured with the multimeter, so that the voltage broke and the same thing was connected to the control unit.

  • Change of timing belt

Hello dear Volvo community, I would be very interested if someone with his elk is already ready to change the timing belt or have already changed. As I have experienced the intervals of the V50 at 250,000km, that is hammer. The timing belt can be that he does not tear around but the around 8 water pump etc ) I will change mine at 85 t km about including the water pump. I would also like to know what it costs? ? The Andreas would have to know that. a nice evening gruss attila

  • Engine fan does not start

It’s my biggest riddle of all times! In November 2011 I’m getting my 94′ Volvo 850 T5, it’s driving great and is sure to get me to Munich from Stuttgart. Only the temperature (at -3°C outside temperature) turns over half of the display when the turbo is cold running. I already thought, said a friend, that it is normal after further distances that it turns up a bit. 3 days later the engine control light lights up – so I read something with you and switch to advised Lamdasonde and OT – dealer. The sign stays out for 1n week, also the fuel consumption adjusts itself from 14l to an average of only 12 liters of temperature increase but remains. Then we have bridged the fan relay, the fan engine works perfectly and jumps immediately. So I drive to Volvo to read out so much – result: Fan relays – changed – Fans still don’t start – again to Volvo – AHA ! Control unit. New control unit for 1050,- Euron ordered everywhere – but not jumps to the fan again – there is either a fan switch?

  • Cooler fan does not start

Hello together. Unfortunately, the radiator fan doesn’t start if it should do it…. First diagnosis, the fan itself is defective. Tested with direct power supply. It really didn’t jump on. Okay, exchanged for a used one, which also starts with direct power supply. To be careful, the relay is changed times. Unfortunately, everything is without success. The workshop has determined today 1,5h everything imaginable measured and tried, but it does not jump and the engine is too hot and the climate does not work in the stand. Apparently, the middle plug (which comes into the relay) does not have power. This is the plug, which has a yellow and a yellow/white cable. Someone’s idea what I / we could / should do next?! These two cables go into MStg or? fuses are also all ok….
