But now I would like to ask you a question about the Vkmer, the Vkmer, the V50 2.0D, the first registration 06/07 with now 57,000km. I was always satisfied. Anyway, about 2 months ago (i.e. still within the warranty period) the display started to show me “motor system, maintenance required”. So I came to my Volvo dealer. The guys thought that it was only the particle filter that had to be “free” to regenerate. Was for me no problem because I drive a lot of highway anyway. So from then on with 140km/h. Anyway, the report came back then, and we were just on vacation on the coast. I went there for safety reasons again to a Volvo dealer who told me that the “pressure control unit” was broken and had to be replaced. At this point I would like to mention that I didn’t know exactly what the boy said. The thing has cost me 166€. But now was much more expensive my 40,000 inspection too. How do you see the case? And I don’t have to tell you that I’ve got a message about it.

Change thermostat housing
Hello, as a newcomer here I would like to greet everyone first. Have the technical forum already collated, but unfortunately did not find out. The following problem with my Volvo 850, B5292S : must replace the thermostat housing (abbreviation TG in further text) due to crack formation caused by improper use of a hammer. The TG is connected by 3 torx screws to the moror block. The upper 2 are accessible, however, the lower one is not. And here is the problem. 1.Is there possibly a special key? 2. My (unusual) guess should be built up: -Retainer of the servo fluid light machine (can you ask the key from the spanner itself?) -Lighting machine holder (as far as I can see it) But even then I am not quite sure whether this 3 screw is really accessible. 3. or must the suction manifold be removed? 4. or is this screw otherwise accessible? If someone is in possession of a “step for instructions” or would be very grateful with tips.

Leather seats in the V60
Hello together I ordered a Volvo V60 two weeks ago. Now this one will of course be a MY23. But since the standard seats in the Core version do not exactly meet my taste, I will upgrade to leather seats this week. Now I am faced with the big decision whether to order the beige seats with real wood inserts or the black seats with aluminum inserts. To my actual question: What does, if at all, speak against the bright interior equipment? Has someone had bad experiences with it (e.g. discoloration by dark trousers… etc.) ? Of course, also positive experiences take me wonder, should there be nothing negative to report. I look forward to your feedback. Best greetings from Switzerland!

Now take another XC60 T6???
Hello together, I currently have an xc60 b4 Diesel my 2022 with leasing until the end of 2026. In hindsight, the T6 hybrid has promised me more, which is why I wanted to change some time ago, which was completely uneconomical at the time with regard to the premature termination of the leasing contract. Situation has changed to this extent. Play me with the idea to take an xc60 t6 black edition. But I’m not sure if this is still so smart, – since xc60 is probably close to the release by the new model, – which hybrid in terms of battery size and load performance is no longer entirely up to the height of the time and – I generally ask myself whether a BEV (would be possible with my driving profile) would not be more reasonable (taxically anyway). Would I be happy about your ideas and opinions. Thank you and LG

RTI Navi Software / Voices / Language…
Was there a new V70 for trial driving (hardly excited) and I noticed that the voices (woman/man) in the Navi were different or sounded “cleaner” or “expressed” more understandablely than it is known from my V50 RTI. Didn’t update my software/DVD so far because I don’t have the Navi soo often in operation. However, I’ve always been disturbed by the cumbersome, “puzzled” way of expression. Completely hacked off and also often wrong in the sentence making (“please keep them on…” etc.) because the way is taught… Sometimes the voice also gets “dumpier” in the middle of the sentence and it sounds like suddenly someone else is speaking. In addition, the female voice is completely useless because it sounds like it has been recorded under drug influence… Well – these things may already be known to some here…. That was not all so in the V70, and therefore my question whether these errors in the V50 are also “excessive” with new navigation software, or if only the card material is updated here? Did anyone have noticed a serious difference in language?

Warranty for used cars
Hello! my S40 recently received the Navi. This was shown by the monitor no longer driving up. After I was at mine it turned out that one of the components is opposed (TMC, GPS antenna, control unit). So exactly it could not narrow down my workshop. It would now be about 3-4 working hours only to find the error. That alone would cost 200.-. But there is nothing repaired then. After I only have my car for 6 months, I immediately got in touch with the car house where I bought the car. They are now the opinion that on the Navi is not a guarantee and therefore I have to pay the defect itself. Can someone confirm that on multimedia components the used car warranty does not apply to me? Thank you!

Consumption of the C30 1.8 not so bad
Since recently I have been discussing how bad the 1.8 engine is, I would like to write a positive contribution to this engine! I’ve been driving my C30 1.8 for 4 months and a good 4000 km. So you can’t talk about the fact that the car has already really started. At the moment the consumption is steadily decreasing. If the good piece at the beginning was still more than 10 litres, I come now with normal driving on 8.6 liters with automatic climate control and winter tyres and light. Even with permanent motorway rides with speeds between 140 and 190 I didn’t get over a consumption of well 9 liters. (the consumption is always calculated) Wouldn’t have really thought that the motor developed so positively! Also the indicated final speed of 200 km/h exceeds the car quite easily. After I switched to the summer tires I wanted to know how much maximum in it is. On a slightly cut-off motorway piece the needle of the tachos was still written down a little bit less than 220km/h! Since the tacho in the C30 I was already a little surprised!

Integrated child seats and side support – does anyone have experience / photos?
Hello, two years ago I had the integrated child seats swarmed up. Only when my child was sitting on it did I find that it has no side stop on it, especially when it falls asleep and the head inevitably falls to the side. In the bad passat there is a really good solution for this case: a kind of headrest with shoulder guide, which is placed on the top of the backrest. However, with Volvo, the often famous pioneers in terms of safety, one seeks such an aesthetically appealing and seemingly safe solution in vain. Instead, a padded cover and headrest in bright blue with dots is recommended, the whole should be pushed over the integrated child seat. So far I have spared the expenses for this ugly part, but meanwhile the child finally grows out of its Roman seat, especially his legs hardly fit into the footroom behind my seat (am even 1.97 m tall) – the integrated seats could not help here. So what do? Has someone experience with the reference available as original accessories plus. Headrest and perhaps also a photo of the whole thing in his V70?

XC60 Winter test
Hello community, driving in the snow with this device is so great that I have already driven over 3000 km over the holidays! Yesterday I picked up a neighbor from the toboggan run and then drove up the mountain, where only a tractor with chains drove. After the second turn on a steep piece I had to stop because the tractor pulled a tree trunk on the road – when I had some space again – start up – look there, no problem! Today again a photo tour through the snowy pre-alps over tractor paths – driving gives me now no adrenaline kick anymore, as at the S60 on my photo trips! What does the control ramp of the DSTC look like??? A few photos in the supplement!

Calling in the XC 60
I’m still at home in the BMW world, but I have an XC 60 in my sights as the next car. Now I have a few questions to call: At BMW I have the following options: A. I can put the phone in a so-called charging tray and that has two consequences: 1. Sending/reception goes over the in-vehicle electronics/antenna and is thus much better than the mobile antenna solo. 2. The battery of the phone is charged as long as the phone is in the charging tray. B. I can pair the phone over Bluetooth, leave the phone on the passenger seat and call over the hands-free system. In my previous time with S 80 there was a fixed phone, sending/reception went over the in-vehicle electronics/antenna, however it was always quite a fuzz to keep the phone numbers on both Sim cards (one in the vehicle, the other in the phone) at the same level. How can I imagine making the phone call in the XC 60? Just pairing over Bluetooth? Is there something like a charging tray? Can I somehow charge the battery of the phone?
