Hello guys, the topic has been discussed many times, yet I am unsure. My V70 2.5 TDI (103KW/140PS) is from 1999, and now has 428,000KM down. I bought it in February 2013 with 403,000KM, without a service booklet or workshop history. (Was an export dealer….) The automatic transmission switches with a very light jerk, under load or with trailer of course a little harder. The transmission oil is not black and mushy, but deer brown and almost transparent. At least far from red, as it should be…. Is it worth changing the gear oil? If so, which Dexron III should be taken, or does the manufacturer not care? To me: I screw his own 20 years, therefore I have no concerns in terms of work. Workshop with lifting platform is available. I would flush the gear with 10-15 liters. So top pipe on the oil cooler, and run in the stand. Pump out or replenish in 3 liter steps until it is clear r pumping out What do you think? Greetings Stephan

Read out error code
Moin together, had already tortured the search, but I have not yet found the right answer. Here I have a 96 V70, i.e. one of the first. Engine control burns (which with the Lambda symbol). The car has between the seats in the armrest under a cover labeled with OBDII, a socket that looks like an OBDII socket, but black and apparently different. With my BT OBDII stick and Torque the stick gets electricity. LED and Torque, sons t is not found. So far I have been able to get there everywhere, as far as pure OBDII is concerned. Now I have read that the motor control unit is on PIN3 instead of PIN7. If I now make the connection stick socket with cable bridges between PIN 4/5, 16 and pull from PIN3 socket on PIN7 stick. do I get it then? I have found this further, but there is not explicitly the V70, but the 850, 940 and 960. Can I just try it all or run danger, because what abz I also have a KKL-Interface Autodia K509 and Carport, which is actually for VAG, but should be irrelevant for OBDII. Maybe you can use it to conjure up something I’m very confused, can someone please enlighten me? Thanks already. mfg

Smaller cruise problem (V70 I, BJ 2000)
Hello everybody Heyho, my first post in the Volvo forum! I’ve already tried to find out a lot about pressure hoses, etc., but as I understand it now, the cruise control works with my Volvo electric (BJ 2000, V70 Type I), right? I’ve been having a little problem for some time now, but it’s still there. And that’s what the flip switch works to increase and reduce the set cruise speed. rn can, only in the direction of “highen” … I lazy Sau drove until then on the highway only by wiping switch, which was to speed up and brake off, which was of course very convenient. Now I can only give gas, which the oil industry is happy, but not in the sense of the inventor. I suspect of course a smaller cable problem inside the turn signal lever, but I have not yet quite figured out whether and how I can “open”. ch right, or can it be that I can extend the whole steering wheel for this and then also beat myself with the airbag? I would definitely not do that myself. My mechanic qualities are still relatively unnecessary anyway. Gomeck

Wiring Speaker Volvo 940
Hello, I don’t drive a Volvo but help a colleague install a new radio. The old developed radio is not an original Volvo radio. During the expansion I noticed that the whole radio electric was bent and botched, so – here a lustre clamp, – there a power thief, – another extension cable, – another additional fuse, – additional crossover etc. There is under the cigarette lighter compartment a white multipole plug, on which apparently all necessary radio contacts (mass, +30, +15, light, antenna… ) incl. speakers connected to the factory. On this plug I could control the front speakers in the door. For the power supply (+30 +15 mass), antenna signal, light I have built my own wire harness of old wires (so a little longer, shrink hose on the soldering points etc. ). This also works great Now my questions about the speakers. 1. On the console there are also speakers to the right and left. Where ends the Cable of these loudspeakers? Does anyone happen to know the cable colours of these wires? 2. Where were the low-tone tweeters installed in the original factory? (in the door, in the amature board or in the radio shaft)? 3. Were the loudspeakers connected in the back door on the factory side or are there any features that the speakers lack in the back door? Background: I can’t find any cables in the radio shaft which are intended for the rear speakers. can anyone help me with my questions? Yours sincerely Hein_nieH

V70 as an AWD with real mist of gasoline? T5 was there as an AWD?
Hello I’m looking for my moose. As far as possible all-wheel but not the country or Cross Country, don’t know what the name is. I prefer the t5 with 250 hp, but I don’t know if it was the four-wheeler. I’d like to be open to other suggestions. Would you like to have the 5 cylinder Turbo?? Moose greetings from the Wolfsburg king

Hello together! Volvo 850 TDI makes extremely unpleasant sounds
Good evening together! Since I am registered here completely new, short to me: I am the Paul , 32 years old and look as a silent guest for a long time again in the forum to let me be inspired by your contributions! This has always worked great so far, but now I am a bit perplexed… I have a Volvo 850 2.5L TDI, 140 hp, built in 1996, automatic transmission. It has run about 312,000 km on the clock and again about 50 000 more. And ran so far wonder bar! But now he has scared me the last time: with one time he makes unpleasant sounds from the engine compartment (had the impression it comes from the left rather, but that is very difficult to make out). I thought it was now with the engine, transmission, clutch or anything else… These nasty sounds come only in the stand or “shut operation”, as far as it is called in an automatic. Under power call (so from 1100 , 1200 revolutions) the wash disappears. And it’s quite normal. Moreover, since then, it’s been running out at the traffic lights, and it’s starting worse… Oil pressure is normal. Cooling is also available. Does anyone have any idea which direction this could go? Had thought about the belt disc or the turning roller of the timing belts, but before I had to renew it all for good luck, I wanted to ask! Could there be something about the automatic coupling or something else… Would I be very happy about ideas! If you still need information- I gladly deliver! Many thanks and greetings!

Volvo V70 I 2.5 battery empty overnight, what can that be?
Moin moin, I got a V70 from 04.99 from a estate. 2.5 liters 144 hp automatic, ran 290000 km. The car stood for 3 months. The car makes a well-kept impression and was always maintained. The previous owner bought a new alternator, which is in the trunk. He also installed a double Din radio with Bluetooth etc. He did not jump on,thereafter a new battery was installed and he ran. I left it with the new battery for 2 days and the battery is completely empty. I have such a guess that it may be on the radio. The radio goes out if you turn off the car but that would be my first guess now. Do you have an idea otherwise what can pull even so extreme current when the car is standing ? The new battery is already gone, now I can buy another one again. Maybe you have an idea ? I would also like to read it out or watch it with a measuring device if you recognize somewhere where it is So much electricity.

Delphi 150
Good morning Elchgemeinde, actually this question should be under the category: Short question short answer Thread, but somehow went wrong. I have a question about the above mentioned device with suitable software. So far it is very clear with the particle and has already helped me a lot. But maybe one here in the group knows under which category I can read the mileage with the software? Find there nothing in the subgroups like: ignition petrol or others. e seen a screenshot of a user here, but don’t remember where exactly, otherwise I would have written it directly. Thanks for a short tip. Wishes all a pleasant weekend. Greetings Krony

Noise steering system
Hello, I have a problem with the steering system of my V70 2.4 l (170 hp), Built 12/99. It all started with an ever louder servo pump, which finally leaked. The noise, a working noise of the servo pump, which can be heard even when the steering is full, became louder with increasing driving time until it was always heard. Then followed the change of the servo pump (replacement pump), the rib belt and the corresponding clamping/reversing roller. rdings is the problem again. After a short drive, the system and the engine are warm, you can hear this working noise of the pump with every steering movement, whether in the stand or during the ride. Enough servo oil is also in the system, I have checked several times. What can this be? What can this be? Is the steering gear over? Can you test it somehow? I still noticed the following: After the ride, the servo oil foams up strongly and there is a lot of pressure on the supply container. Servo system installs a filter that may have been added? If so, where does this one sit? Have you ever narrowed or clogged the pipes or hoses? Do you feel the pump has to work too hard. The pulley of the replacement servo pump has game, you can move them back and forth sideways. Is this normal? Actually, the disc should be stored and not allow such movements, right? Thank you for your help.

Volvo 850 leaves during the ride (also with me)
Good evening to everyone, since it has been really annoying since yesterday, I turn to you. Model: Volvo 850, 2.5 20V Model Year 1997, Automatic Description: Shortly before going out the needle of the Dregzahlmesser wobbles/jumps inappropriately to the speed. The gas acceptance is then disturbed. Almost at the same time the control light of the automatic transmission lights up as first before shortly afterwards is over. Durations about 5 – 10 seconds. This happens without medial connection to the external or engine temperature or air-feutigk He drives 50km at a time, but also stops after 5km. Once it started it often comes back soon afterwards. Without success petrol pump, petrol pump relay and ignition coil were changed. For camshaft and crankshaft sensor I have replacement, but are not yet installed. An iCarsoft diagnostic device shows an error 445 (secondary) air pump (Kat ?). This occurs again after deletion, even if the engine did not run out during the ride. If it runs – it runs great, rotates clean, fuel consumption at 11 liters What do you think you should do? Thank you Best regards Thomas
