  • Suspension exhaust system/cardan shaft

Hello All I wanted to install new rear silencers today, on my V70I AWD. Now I was lying so under my beloved Volvo and saw terrible. Behind the cat is a part, suspension for the exhaust system and at the same time suspension for the cardan shaft. This suspension is completely rotten. Now my question: Does anyone know this part or can tell me what it is called and possibly where I get it? See photos.

  • Mixture to lean after installation of BSR stage III

Good morning to everyone! I know you can’t make a remote diagnosis, but maybe you’re familiar with such a case and you’ve got a tip!? I ordered the “Level 3” for my T-5R at BSR about 2 months ago. As a matter of fact: Exhaust, downpipe were installed first, then the petrol pressure regulator and the control unit came in. BDR: Set in return line, with the hose pulled out at 3 bar (counter)pressure, original controller remained in the car! (An approximate morning!) Installation instructions on a sheet of paper with exact numbers would have been desirable at the price for a private person, but OK – so it was told to me by the distributor of these components that it was made – even after re request directly to BSR, this was confirmed by Sweden from so!) Power, engine run, exhaust sound,… surprising and more than satisfactory! PROBLEM: Engine control light went on, error can not be deleted. Has OBD I… Error code: 325 (error in Steu (but not from the beginning) – only about 3 weeks ago! Yesterday morning the lamp no longer lit ???, until then permanently for 3 weeks! Yesterday evening it went on again, today just as unchanged! Maybe you already had such a scenario with your moose and can I stand by with a helpful insider tip? Thanks in advance and dear greetings Christof

  • Volvo 850 2.0T (T-5, B5204T) stutters at full throttle and has no power.

Moin people, yesterday I got a giant scare while overtaking. I wanted to speed through the 5th of 90 upwards. There was like a kind of “knall” or “beat” and I had no more performance. No more performance. After that I stopped and read it out, no incidents. On A2 only 1-1-1. The error is permanently present, if I move comfortably with half gas everything is up to about 4000 ok, after that he jerks violently and has misigned (hearts so). Volvo jerks off. at full load When I turned it off again, it came on A2: 2-3-1. I then sprayed with brake cleaner with cold engine all places in the intake tract. No result, all pipes are okay, it has not burst or torn. Engine over or turbocharger bin thankful over every tip.

  • Volvo 850 starts and goes out again after 2-3 seconds.

850 MJ 97 B5252 144 PS Servus together, as already written above the moose jumps normal again after 2-3 seconds, when it is on it runs without problems I noticed only in the cold condition or only now at these temperatures, after I have read some it will probably be the immobilizer. Where is the usually the fault, at the key or antenna ring ? If antenna ring, this is no longer available how to proceed ….can one be the existing one repair ? A new used will probably bring little since these are already as old as mine especially as they also have to be learned. Thanks and greetings Stefan

  • Volvo 850 tdi belt tensioner, rib belt ni. Centered

Good evening, I’m new here in the forum because I just don’t find an answer to my problem. I drive a Volvo 850 TDI with 375tsd. km on the hump. I let the good all parts new. Among them also kerb belts with belt tensioner from Gates new water pump and pulley rollers. I picked up the vehicle from my workshop of trust and examined the work. I noticed that the belt does NOT run centered on the belt tensioner and I exactly the Now I have everything new with high-quality parts and the problem is the same. Is possibly a nice person here who can explain to me why this strap does not run centrally on the spanner. He runs almost half way towards the motor on the spanner. I thank you sincerely in the hope that there is someone who can help me before I leave a pile of money at Volvo. Greetings Nauti

  • HiFi in 850 – 2023 edition

Moin, the old 96’s 850 came to me with a SC-700. The thing has a certain 80’s radio charm, but overall the sound is something very much on the, hmmm, “smuggling” side. Even though the preset EQ somehow conjures up more bass. I have a test time an old Alpine 7817R (yes, the Goldeneye radio) connected with an adapter and… HOLY SHIT! Radio stations, which come in with a reasonably separated stereo signal, sound better than anything I’ve ever done in the 8 50 heard. Incredible! Unfortunately, the CD part of the thing is now completely overtaken. From the fact that the laser is no longer the best the music sounds actually worse than the radio signals. But since I would like to play MP3 in the car, but find no more Yatour for the old Alpine M bus, I think now which headunit I pack in. Sure, what more modern with Navi and co would be nice, and there are now also very good Android devices with good Au but you have a modern navigation system based on software and at the same time good sound. But: Can it be that simply “old” radios harmonize better with the factory sound system in the 850? I immediately had the impression at Alpine that the sound went strongly towards the 801 radios of the PSS, which were also from Alpine. I also have the feeling that some of the speakers are a bit “tired” about the beadings. But since the LS in the 85 0 yes perfectly matched to the vehicle, I don’t want to replace it with others. Does it help to glue in new beadings?

  • Volvo C70N suspension too hard

Hello all, my C70, 2.0T, Bj 2001, normal 16 inch suspension, is front hard suspension, although it is always said that the car is so spongy. At least my free Volvo workshop (corner in M?nchen) says after detailed examination that it is the normal serial suspension. Can this be oser something is not right here ? And if this is normal, can the suspension be softer to tune ? The body is powerful in any case. P.S. Am a workshopip in the room Muenchen Not averse

  • Change of timing belt

Moin, with my moose it drips out of the water pump. Now the timing belt has to be changed. Would be the third or fourth for my car. I definitely had the last one done and now I have looked for parts again and seen completely different offers. What do I really need? The offers go from 80 to 200€. This belt tensioner which is included in some sets, the last time was not there. Should I change it this time?

  • Volvo 850: Problems with the inlet air temperature sensor

Good day, I don’t know any more… Problem: Initial situation: when I give gas to my Volvo, the speed remains “hanging” – that is, when I step through the clutch, the speed does not drop. After a little research and reading out the error codes was conceivable: the air mass meter is faulty/the idle control valve is faulty. My procedure: I have replaced the following components that could have an influence on the idle speed: Idle control valve, throttle valve appensensor, sensor intake air temperature. I also found out that my model year doesn’t have a classic air mass meter, right? What could the problem be? Actually, it would have to be the cable that goes away from the sensor intake air temperature. How can I fix it? Thank you! TauerPauer

  • Tüv; AU failed – CO value too high

Hello, last week the Tüv was due. Well, bad luck – just failed at the AU. Unfortunately I was not there, the workshop master told me however, that the CO value was too high. He had also tried and the Volvo again warmed up on the road – but unfortunately did not succeed. The Volvo is a 850 T5 with automatic and LPG. Km-Stand: 380tkm. As layman I immediately remembered the Lambasonde and the Kat. Both are still the first ones. I tried the probe probably as first (if there were before I get a new cat for free, are there ways to test it with simple means? The exhaust gases smell/sink a bit strikingly – but it does squeak only as long as the outside temperature is low and the engine is cold. And what causes could a too high CO value still have? A month ago I first changed the exhaust/smoke damper. Because the previous owner had welded the connecting clamp, I had to What’s the problem with the flex? Can the lamda probe give the rest? I also suspected a leaky flex tube (woven tore), but the workshop meant a leak test would not have resulted in anything. I had recently checked the vacuum hoses, but also found nothing. Thanks and greeting, Martin PS. Normally I used the search function in detail, which in most cases also helps me. Unfortunately, it is not possible to search for “CO” and “AU”.
