  • Depot headlights brand new and on both sides height adjustment defective

Well in a good mood last week I installed my newly bought depot headlights. With my old pig headlights the reflectors were completely worn out. There was nothing more to fetch. After the installation in front of the garage wall I wanted to adjust the new parts to the height of the old ones. Think… I could turn until the bus glowed. They were always easy to move and then slipped through. Now my consideration was the height adjustment of the old ones into the housings of the new u The reflector can’t be easily changed, the storage between the dipped-beam and the main-beam reflector is completely different in both cases. Shit… So only until replacement arrives I can help with washers under the shots so that I at least can’t blind the oncoming traffic. Let’s see how guarantee-worthy the dealer is. Hope there’s a quick replacement over there. I commute 180km to the Ar every day. Have you had similar experiences with the replicas? What would there possibly be for alternatives (except for originals, which simply don’t go at all)? Greeting Thomas

  • Engine damage at Christmas

Since the “What did you do good to your moose today” thread is the wrong place for it, I’ll open a new one for it. Since we are currently in the Christmas season, my father was on his way to us and to celebrate Christmas with us. On the day of departure he took the car out of the workshop and made his way to us. After about 600km he stayed just before the finish, his words were “There was a jerk and then was the end”. 40min Later I got him from the AB on a parking lot and waited there for the first Yellow Angel. This came after about an hour and looked at the engine. He threw his multimeter at the battery and asked me to start the engine. Result: voltage a lot on under 5V when starting and the engine does not more than “crack” when turning the key. Diagnosis: engine is stuck. The second Yellow Angel was called and the first Yellow Angel took care of the lost oil (very nice of him, would t We were then dragged home and the Yellow Angel took another 20€ off for the oil stain on his loading area. Today I looked at the misery: engine can not be turned over the belt disc. engine is complete oil wet from below, where exactly it came from I can’t say… probably from everywhere. Although we had lost a lot of oil, there was more than enough oil in the engine, so oil was too much (the oil lamp shone from time to time, my father had where Hl a “good sip” too much refilled. He doesn’t want to buy a new Volvo, prefer to install a new engine (let it be). So if you have a B5252S engine and/or live in NRW and want to help, we would be very grateful. To illustrate, I’ll put on some pictures.

  • S70 problem remote control central locking

Hello dear Volvo friends, my S70 (US version) Bj 2000 is now almost completely repaired, except this stupid remote control for the central locking, does not work yet. From the first owner I got all the keys and 1 remote control. Unfortunately, this did not work even after inserting a new battery. I then drove to the Volvo dealer and thought maybe it is only necessary to learn it again. The mechanic came after 30 min and said so it can not, one must order a new software and then it wouldn’t be guaranteed that it then works.Well, I thought for now, almost 90 euros only to try, is then still too much for me. Now after reading some different threads on the topic, would have been to clarify first, if it was perhaps only on the receiver, before you poking around unnecessarily in the fog. My questions: 1. Could I take a used receiver of a V/S 70 Bj 1997 or 1998 and install it? search. My S70 is model year 2000. and I have electric as far as I’ve seen it, a lot of Denso. 2.I don’t understand why the workshop wants to order a new software, it’s all original and nothing has been changed. Does for me, either FB or receiver defective or? 3.I looked in in Vida once, where the components for the ZV are installed. There it is said, to the left of the pedals is the control unit for the ZV. That irritated me a bit, on the speedometer unit is also a unit at the top and there should normally be the receiver. 4. Would Vida show me if the receiver was defective? When reading out, no errors were shown.

  • Ignition coil 850 GLE urgently!

Good morning, I’m new here and you’re my last hope! I’m looking for an ignition coil for my 850 he Volvo Kombi (2483 ccm and 140 hp) and that’s exactly the one that has this 7 pin connector on the plug. My car is currently in the workshop, I’m completely unneeded when it comes to screwing cars. According to Volvo, this part has only been installed for a short time and has been removed from the spare parts service without replacement. I’m grateful for any help because on the one hand I have this car on the other hand. love and professionally and privately also depend on it. Do not have any possibility and no knowledge who I could contact here in the Ruhr area because I am relatively new here in the region. Thank you already in advance. Greetings from Essen

  • Exact amount of damage after an accident

Hello, I’d have to apologize if I didn’t think of the right words in the terminology of the cars. I’m absolutely no connoisseur, but I like to drive cars. First of all some important information about my car: It’s about: Volvo 850 Year of construction: 1995 Kilometer level: 190000 (189something) Tüv: New (until mid-2019) If you need more information, you can ask me. The accident happened about a week ago and we called the police. He also admitted that he was to blame. I received a letter from the opposing insurance company shortly stating that I should take photos of the accident site and send some more information to them. This also included a cost estimate from a workshop. The amount was approximately with tax around 1080€. Everything as normal as it should be (I assume, because this was my first accident as a victim of LOL). Today I learned that the accident was not a problem. I called and said that I would pass the matter on to my lawyer and he would then take care of it.The question of the tone and what this topic is really about: whether I have to pay the expert myself (whether it is a minor damage or not) or the opposing insurance company will cover the costs of the expert I have commissioned. I have had to pay the expert. be already discussed with many people about it and there were always different opinions: A few example sentences: “Look at the damage!! Of course they do this!!! spin you???” “I would be careful in your place!!! This is an old car!! So n scrap is that!! They do not take the cost!!!” I would like to upload a photo from the accident site here, and I would be happy if you would tell me your opinions. And the same photo had I am also sent to the opposing insurance company. I would like to thank you in advance.

  • Schematic for the amplifier of the SC 900

Dear motor talk community, In my amplifier what is burned down you can unfortunately not read which part that is also the number burned away. My technician is therefore looking for a schematic where all the designations of the individual resistance bands are burned down, one of the 3 I say times has feet. Photos where you can recognize the designations on it but also would be great. I hope someone can help me. Because the replacement radio is not as nice as the original. nk Rudi

  • Wet in the footroom driver’s side, but…

it can not be the WT, because I have just checked it and there everything is dry and nice to recognize, by the dust below and around, which can be taken up with the finger. only where the feet are actually located, is the moisture under the carpet! the thing is, the “source” of moisture is located directly under the opening of the footroom ventilation. that is clearly feelable and was yesterday also really wet! the rest rather so fully sucked by the g anze…that my balance tank has emptied itself so strangely however is questionable! I had already reported that on my v70 is a slight loss of KW…maybe I did not look for too long!

  • Let V70 I replace the steering gear

Hello professionals, my Volvo V70 EZ 1997, 2.5L petrol, 144hp, with 365,000 km, loses massive oil on the steering gear for three weeks. Car stands now and is not moved anymore, loses too much. LecWec I poured in two weeks ago – unfortunately brought nothing. Who told me my free workshop that you can not repair the steering gear but buy and install it again that then in a little 1000-110€ cost I had already considered this as “economic total damage” and Now I think that you should do the repair, even if the V70 I has a few other flaws. Have read here in the forum, that you can get with various suppliers (e.g. Polar Parts) also outdated steering gears for 250-300€, or “no-name” products. Does anyone know a screwdriver in the Rhine-Main area, who performs the repair of a steering gear? Or a screwdriver, who gets the general overhauled and installs it? Or should I look around for a new V70 III. order it on the internet and have my workshop installed (but don’t know if it does)? With an outdated steering gear, it would have to cost approx. 650-800€ including installation. Does this work? Does it work somehow cheaper? Do you have experience with outdated steering gears? Does it make sense to invest this from your point of view? How long does a clutch hold at the V70 I? I rather drive long distance. At 140,000km the clutch was changed. Now there are 365,000 on the clock. Greetings, Windmann

  • Trip to Iran with my Volvo 850

Hello car community, a few friends and I will participate in the 2016 Allgäu-Orient Rally. The destination this year is Iran. As a condition of the rally is that the vehicles may not be worth more than 1111.11€ we have chosen a 20 year old Volvo 850 Kombi. I bought the red “jewelry piece” today. It has fresh 317,000 km down and is surprisingly well preserved. In the past a lot has been done (witness system, timing belts, gasoline pump) My question to the Volvo community is now what kind of spare parts should I take with me? Are there “Typical” spare parts? What should I replace in advance or renew on suspicion? Thank you in advance ToM

  • Found the perpetrators!

Hello! I am delighted to report that I have found the culprit who is responsible for the wrong air! And that is the colleague on picture 1 of the culprits! On picture 2 you can see where he pulls massively wrong air. So, he’s probably perforated! My LMM seems fine and the Lambda too, but more precisely you can say after the exchange. What should I do now? Exchange against the original product, or as I would like to have it against the following to ta uschen:http://www.snabb.us/…e-Fresh-Air-Pipe-99-00-SV70-99-05-C70_p_11.html The part costs twice as much, but … it’s worth it! There’s also a video where the part of FCP-Europe is installed. Here to see:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ym5Cen4sPs Maybe someone has already built something like this, has experiences with it, or whatever…
