  • V70 2.5 20V Lambda sensor lamp/motor control lamp

    Hello everyone, this week I want to see a used V70 2.5 20V from 1997. On the photos he looks well preserved, only 2 owners (the now, before his father-in-law); has “Pickerl” (in Ö. counterpart to HU) until 4/2020. On the phone the owner explained to me that the car has only one problem: at periodic intervals the lamp for the Lambda probe (engine control light?) starts to light; the engine runs quite normal, but the exhaust values are not over The workshop would then reset the Feheler report again, but it would then reappear several months later… What can that be? Indication of a more serious problem, or meaningless? Oh yes, because I am here anyway (and then not get 5 different results again via Google): Does anyone happen to know how much km/years the timing belt can be changed with the 2.5 20V suction cup (170 hp)? (The car has just over 300000km on the clock, and is, as I said, from 1997).

  • Wheel bolts have been “lightened”

    Was just a week on the road with my moose in Austria. After a mountain tour I had violent noises at the VA. thought first, crap…a record… At the check it turned out that probably someone loosened all 10 wheel bolts!! Was a shock for the four of us…. Someone an idea, how to prevent this meaningfully? Sure, before each ride control….Are these special wheel bolts, the shooters rather before theft…or? Best regards Bird

  • Inexplicable cooling water loss Volvo V70 Built 10/98 144 HP

    Hello My Volvo loses water and I don’t know where. If it runs half an hour to build up pressure in the system and I put it out then the water disappears in the balance tank. I open the lid again later it rises again to the old brand. The same of course also in daily driving operation. Only about the third time I have to flip back a liter or more. Below everything is dry cooler is 4 weeks old and as I said in the stand is after half enough pressure i m system to see something under the car. But there’s nothing there.   • Rest current at 850, what am I doing wrong?

    Hi there, I’ve had a 850er for about 10 months, which was standing longer before and the battery was empty (and very old). Besides some other things I changed the old battery for a new 70 Ah battery, so I hoped to have some rest with it. However, unfortunately after a week the battery sucked completely empty, if I didn’t drive in between. So I wanted to measure the rest current and find out about pulling fuses where the problem lies. I For example, ch has retrofitted a Volvo radio receiver for the ZV and maybe it’s because of it? But unfortunately I don’t succeed in measuring it. I’ve tried to measure it with different multimeters but it doesn’t do anything. The multimeter shows no consumption, although I put it on amperes and clamp it between a pole. With a “proof photo”.   • Just change the wiper water pump for the rear window.

    With mine was the wiper water pump for the rear window without function. This sits under the wiper water tank. Without lifting platform that is lying on the back quite fidgety. Especially because with me almost everything was jammed. The pump in the holder. The plug on the pump. And lastly the contacts of the plug on those of the pump. These are of course torn off from the cable. An absolute gau. After the removal the fault was found quickly. The pump is probably over the years leaking and the rotor stuck to the stator of the engine. I noticed further, the residual water in the wiping water tank was somehow thick liquid and slimy. Can this be related to the cleaning concentrate?

  • Durability of crossbars

    Moin, I was just at the TÜV and next to a starting game of the coupler bar he had a starting game on my crossbar left front change. The whole annoyed me a bit, because I had these changed only about a year ago (05/15) and about 14000 km. The whole fun at that time in a free workshop with track set me 550 EUR cost, which I found quite expensive. The crossbars were at net 110 EUR. brand they did not count on it.     Hello guys! In advance: When I was looking for C70 driving performance I found nothing here in the forum. That’s why I’m going to open a new topic! How fast is a C70 at all? At Kombi or Limo T5 I found something from 260 – 265km/h, but nothing about the Cab. I now have a 2.4t with 200hp. When the roof was open, I had to get off the gas at 235km/h, but I had the feeling that there was something else. Wg. my wife I don’t have a new start, what a start – that went through, dare. Actually it is indicated with “only” 210km/h. Newbie dero

  • My first battle party;-))))

    Hello together. Had on Monday a 92er 10V almost received. At first I thought it was not worth it, because the engine is completely different…. Far missing;-)))) Since I intended to pack my thickness in foil were for the first time bumpers and fenders on it (which would need to be with my some spatula…. Then gongs in the engine room further – what a fun!!! On the photos you see what I mean;-)))))) In the trunk then went to the petrol pump, the lock and the SW engine;-)))) In the In (-)))) No more snoring (the old one was broken at the front). The heat exchanger from the heater including tubes and wall entry, the door rubbers, and and and…..;-))))) was a huge fun and above all, I now have lots of material to play (clean, grease, oils, etc.) The best thing, however, was that I had the opportunity to get to know my thick one much better without hurting him ;-)))))) Tomorrow the skeleton goes to S chrott and I can recommend anyone such a way was to take- is like a workshop;-))))) Until then, Andreas Schade, that he has sun roof….would have taken the sky out otherwise. And the seats look great….only unfortunately after 2 years standing are the full fleas;-(((((((

  • Generator at the end. Install BOSCH, SKANDIX or cheap.

    My alternator will shortly acknowledge its service and I’m just looking for a new alternator. I don’t want to have the old one prepared. The freewheel still runs in one direction but with light noises and the bearing is defective and gives even more noise and vibrations of itself. Had the strap down to make sure that it is the alternator. Steady is an alternator from VOLVO 9459077, which is no longer available. Alternatively, SK will provide you with an alternator. ANDIX and VIDA offered an alternator with the number 36050282 for 223 euros. On the net I found a cheap version STARDAX for 129 euros or a BOSCH for 197 euros, which would correspond to the original. Of course there are plenty of other suppliers with the most different prices. I tend to the BOSCH, because it is a bit troublesome to replace the alternator with the V70 and I do not want to do it again shortly. What do you think about it, or does someone have a good A ternative to the BOSCH alternator ???
