So dear ones, today the 300,000km mark officially cracked and still 23 months TÜV…. But are more kilometers since the odometer has failed… Can one read out the actual kilometers somehow?! By the way, have bought the moose in Sep 2007, since he had 187,000km on the clock…. Best regards Bird

850 timing belts for 8 years – EVERYTHING to change?
Hello all, I have a 96’er 850 LW 2.5 10v. The last entry in the service checkbook for the timing belt change is at 240.000 km. That was still from the previous owner in 11/2006. Supposedly he also got a new cylinder head, which I can’t tell. Now I am 7.5 years later at 297,000 km, so just 60,000 more. Kilometerwise the next change is still far from it, but in time (every 8 years). The “free” told me that he would have to get there with 450-500 €, but “how does that work with the Volvo he would have to think about for the first time”. Great. I have the choice between borrowing and bad handicraft work. First question: Does everything have to be changed after 8 years despite the “only” 60.000km (rolling, water pump etc) or does the timing belt suffice? Second question: Is there a workshop somewhere on the southern edge of the Ruhr region (Hagen-Wuppe) rtal-Düsseldorf) has the idea of VOLVO and does not charge according to factory gross price list? Greeting Jens

Test ride without instrument and passenger airbag
Hello, I would like to do a short test drive without an upper dashboard, i.e. without a combination instrument and without a passenger airbag. Does anyone know if this works without any problems, so the engine starts and you can simply reset the error codes (SRS system)? Want to locate a vibration. Thank you!

different hub caps?
moin, with my jewel (see signature) the small “hub caps” were missing in the aluminium rims… Now I got original caps with the Volvo No. 31400452, but they only fit on the rear axle! On the front axle the threads of the “axle stubs” stand out so far from the crown nut that these caps do not fit. Are not “deep” enough. Question now: are there special, more curved caps (No. ? ) or is there something wrong with the “axle stubs”?

850 TDI, squeaking drive belts
After changing the vibration damper and the drive belt a squeaking occurs in this area in case of humidity or rain. It is also enough to spray water on the belt (see video). The squeaking stops after about 10 sec. by itself. But also in the morning after starting in the idle run come out of the area quiet squeaking noises, which disappear again after a few minutes. They also disappear if you give a bit of gas. from my workshop, since at 1500 rpm annoying noises appeared. These were then gone, but the squeaking was there. You can hear irregular noises during the first minutes. Sounds like a defective camp. If you give a bit of gas, they disappear again. My workshop wants to change the belt again. Could something else cause these noises in the area? I guess already the camp of Lima.

Where does this mr tube belong and what is its function?
Dear Volvo friends, I forgot the position of a hose after a lot of work on my moose, now the one end hangs by the throttle flap and the other in my hand… What exactly is this tube and where do I have to plug it in? Thank you in advance (:

V70 I TDI Automatic unround motor running when accelerating after timing belt change ??
A greeting goes out to all TDI-Spezis, about two months ago I had all belts exchanged with a screwdriver of my (at that time still) trust. After this first stopped me and after almost 2 weeks of standstill then still with the language pulled out nevertheless not to be able to set my TDI so that it runs, we got it after some drama then together to stop the production start and start the car (0,27 mm, after 0,25 mm more problems with the star Since then, I have been driving the vehicle for more than 5000 km. The car moves so far without problems, no power loss, conspicuous extra consumption, smoking or the like. What only irritates me: I have known the vehicle since I am 6 and so I noticed that when accelerating in the speed range it runs between 2000-3000 u/min somehow irregularly or unroundly. It is quite strange, since you can’t really do anything at standstill or at higher speeds. Rkt. Markant is the whimpering mainly in urban traffic and depends on the height of the speed. I addressed my screwdriver. The pushes the problem to the not completely intact engine bearings, which could be triggers to this vibration. Before the belt change there was definitely no problem. I controlled the dynamic start of the conveyor with Delphi. It fits so far. Errors are not thrown out. What I wonder: Can it be that with the Riementau If so, do you have any ideas about what I should control? Could the Bosch Service help me? Thank you in advance. Best regards from Saxony, Christian

Extreme tuning, who does something like this in Germany/Austria ?
Hy, would just like to ask in the round who makes really durable and yet stronger tuning at Volvo. For example, already from the basic setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhzjKWARf4k In addition, who can bring the automatic into its durable range. Speaks at least 500-600hp and that for EVERYTHING durable & serious (no storytellers or Damplauderers like Ebay Tuner).

Ignition cables and co.
Hello, now I’ve read so many times about all the sparks (twisted cables and coils) and now I can’t find what manufacturers you can recommend here.. with keyword search come many threads, but most will quickly OT and forever long. My V70 is just standing in the workshop and I have to say as fast as possible if I want to have something specific. Something similar to Bodycount?

Simple replacement radio with MP3/USB
Hello, I’ve read a lot, youtube videos…can’t decide which Kenwood/Pioneer or China Radio I should take…or don’t find appropriate devices anymore… Which radio means the least effort, with regard to adapters and filing on the frame? I’m really getting lost and would be very happy about a few matching eBay links. There are so many Android devices…I’m reading something of non-functioning brightness control and active systems. .. :S It doesn’t necessarily have to be/have touchscreen, but please MP3/USB. I would like to spend approx. 250 euros incl. adapter and aperture. What do you build in 2021 into a 1999 V70 (850) for a radio so that it doesn’t look too funky and does not hurt the old look too much? Where is the least effort (adapter, file on frame etc.) and what does average sound for long trips offer? Loudspeakers and cabling leave everything as it is. Thank you for your attention.
