I have a general question: I drive my 8 TDI now in the 10th year. The first 8 years there was actually hardly any problem, only maintenance repairs and even wear. Two years ago I had the ZR jumper, where new valves and a new injection pump were installed. This then did not want any more. The fun was not cheap. Since then the TDI drives again without teasing, currently only maintenance and wear. So nothing moving. Now again the annual Urlau b with the family. So pack the station wagon again to the stop and go south (about 2500km in two weeks). I’m already thinking about whether the car has grown to this stress. From the feeling I would say no problem. The car can do this without problems. But from my wife and from the circle of acquaintances there are comments. Which one of you still drives the 8th as a uncompromising everyday car? Also over longer distances. Greeting Holger

Windshield V70
Hello, can jmd upload pictures from the decorative strip? Was just in the Volvo workshop, insert new disc. At the transition to the roof I was able to stick my finger through. They wanted to lubricate glue in. Tomorrow there is the next attempt to put in. I would like to have pictures as it should look right. (SO ONE HALS I have……)

Chassis changes…
Hello together. Now that the brakes are made and next week the clutch and the ZR are on the paper, it is time to renew the chassis before the TÜV appointment at the end of January….The ass hangs and the dampers are almost graffiti… Now the questions: What would I recognize if Nivos are installed? Is there an inexpensive alternative to the thread suspension? The dampers and spring set should then not exceed 1000€…( rather less) I like it a bit harder;-))) Bin a about no rally driver and don’t want to be that either;-))))) Only there are plenty of serpentines and curves to drive here and there is just swinging dangerous…. What do you think of a subtle track widening? So around 20-30 mm/axle? Does this bring a better location? Why doesn’t the STR-T kit fit to the T5? I imagine something like that… Thanks a lot already and a nice evening, Andreas.

Purchase advice V70 2.5 with low budget
Good morning all together, I have read a lot here in the forum in the last days and need a personal purchase advice for two V70 I who are close to me 🙂 I hope you can help me further! Starting point: I was the last to be able to get “a little” excited about these models with a friend in the V70 I. Now that I need a transitional vehicle for the next 8-10 months, I looked directly to Volvo and bi I drive about 600km a month, have to pull to a trailer and have several at hand which have a lifting platform and can therefore repair something for me. Now to the vehicles: Both are close to the 300,000km, both are black and have the 2.5 petrol with 144hp and 170hp installed. The first is built in 04/1997, has TÜV until 07/2016 and is supposed to drive very well. Information on the change of the timing belt the owner can le The towing hook at the front should have nothing to mean (was probably already there when it was bought). I get information about the number of holders and repairs at the VA today. Purchase price: on 900€ traded.http://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/…/339841594-216-2598 The second is built in 12/1999, has TÜV until 07/2017, 2nd hand and in my opinion (you already notice at the price…) the better choice. Better equipment, the seats I like better, It makes more visual thanks to the rear spoiler and the rims and so I find it much more well-kept. The repairs before 1000km of brakes in the rear are complete, V-belts etc. are also top. However, if the net costs three times – 2,700€ (have not yet reached the seller to negotiate, I expect about 2,000€). http://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/…/341725236-216-2082 Now is the question for you Volvo connoisseurs: The budget for the more expensive V70 would be there. investment? We’re talking about min. 1.100€ more and after 8-10 months it should be sold again… but doesn’t want to have a toilet where I have to pump my acquaintances every month, if they can repair me a bit! I hope that wasn’t too much input Best regards from Lippe Christian

5Zyl Marco has prepared the 850 T5
Moin. I keep watching the “screw videos” of 5 cylinders Marco (Degenhardt) on Youtube. Actually a proven Audi Freak and 5 cylinders fanatic. Now he has bought a “real” 5Zyl Turbo and builds it up again. Maybe you’re interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg2snUj7XLY Mike

Tips for Youngtimers
Hello in the round, I have decided to get a youngtimer in the foreseeable future. I swivel between the Volvo 850 and the Volvo V70, thus Bj 1998 – 2006 Whether petrol or diesel is not clear. I would like to see a robust and well-repaired or maintained vehicle, with which one still has a lot of pleasure. Since I am still at the beginning of my research I am grateful for hints and tips. Thanks in advance. Stef

Which tinting film is recommended for side and rear windows?
Hello together! Since we plan to make longer tours to Southern Europe with our Volvo in the near future, including the option to sleep in the car, or to leave something “invisible” in it, I wanted to look around which tints are so recommended. My idea is that I build more or less mirrored foils. I think black is stupid, because my Volvo is also black and then would look like a box van. Can you recommend something to me, which to a Would you place the foil tracks for the rear window divided into two lanes, or is the arching so minimal that you can make it into one? Remember that the Omega B was not doing so neatly. Thank you very much! Greetings

Volvo 850 in view
Hello, I intend to buy a 20-year-old 850er. Visually, despite its high age, the car makes a very good impression, but in the first view I noticed something alaming: slim on the oil spill stick! a safe sign for a problem with the head seal, but a familiar Volvo driver told me that this was normal with the model and not that after it looks, especially with vehicles with gas system. Info: The vehicle has been overdue since 01/2015 TÜV and not more moved, it also has a gas system. Question is that true, or should you rather keep your fingers off it?

V70 1 2.4T 193PS – Turbo Service – do something else?
Hy, almost 280tkm on the clock and all the original, now the turbo is already oiling something, and one thought, is not o bad, one can leave. But since now the oil is already visible at the throsselkl., I think it has to be out and to the service for the new construction/repair. Thought already to get another from the net in new (often cheaper), but I think that the original is overtaken (Fa. TurboTwins in Vienna) nevertheless better. Now the question: should I have the immediately “modify” something, or gle I change the hoses on silicone, and is it really true that the 193hp can tolerate another Popoff/Wastgate ? Who has quality silicone hoses ect. at “normal” prices ? A tuner for Volvo is yes in Germany I think? Thanks mfg (Just in advance, who can not with me, to Fred just stay away, thank you ;-))
